This is nice for people like me with an average setup.
So I have a Windows 7 system running DirectX 11 and a 4 core i7 processor. Will I be able to take advantage of the multithreading with this setup or would I have to upgrade to DirectX 12 (and, as far as I understand, Windows 10)?
Sweet.Pity it probably won't help my Surface Pro..
Bit of disappointment to be only for windows 10, but any improvement is welcome. Great job, you guys nailed it. 20% is huge.
When I downloaded this driver update, I started getting max 20 fps, where I would usually get 60. I installed an older driver and everything worked correctly... so no thanks hopefully the next version one is not garbage. GTX 1060, Windows 10, DX12
Guys, stay away from 417.22 version of NVidia drivers. This version cause huge FPS lose for most people. Link to reddit tread about this problem
I have a 1060 card and my FPS is still running normal.
The NVIDIA drivers are complete trash. My game hasn't worked since I installed them, and removing them didn't fix the issue. Tried to contact NVIDIA support, but they didn't speak English.
It seems that only laptop's GTX cards have problems with this new driver.Personally, I run games better now on my desktop. I5 6600k, GTX 1080.
There also has been some errors on the 970 with the 417.22 patch and the one before that. This one was the one for me: : RGB color format does not get set correctly even when forced in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Only could get it back after a rollback to the older driver. Which was a bit puzzling since it was on the 'Fixed' side of the driver notes. Edit: (and a DDU removal + re-install of the .22 patch has fixed that.)Naturally systems are different so just because you don't have it does not mean there are no issues. :p
Maybe they broke them for 8.0 by targetting only 8.1's DX12 code?
The only thing that I am actually excited for with 8.1.
So... I guess this doesn't affect us GNU/Linux (Ubuntu) users running through Lutris+wine+Vulkan / DXVK either then. At least not until they're able to use DX12.Shame I can't make full use of these two 580's unless I'm mining crypto or playing other games. I don't think that's changing with Classic either. Nor W3:R.
The issue is with laptops using the Pascal generation of cards. If you're using a desktop PC, then these drivers are fine.
