Redemption does not come from somebody else forgiving the character, or from the character taking a specific action in lieu of a different specific action. A good deed does not cancel out a bad one. Redemption comes from the character realizing that they've done an absolute wrong and no longer considering that an acceptable thing; it comes from the character actively trying to correct what they've done solely for the sake of correcting it, not because they need or want to be forgiven, or because they want a better legacy or whatever.Sylvanas has also refused every single chance to redeem herself thus far--several of which were mentioned in this article. She had the chance and the choice and she chose to continue doing morally wrong (not morally ambiguous) things to further her own personal agenda. I don't want her to be redeemed because frankly, her story has not set her up to deserve it. Redemption via Anduin saying "it's cool she turned away from the Jailer at the last second" would be hollow and unearned and lazy. ESPECIALLY since it's her fault Anduin's becoming Arthas 2.0 (which came as no surprise) in the first place.
Sylvanas burned down Teldrassil at best because she wanted to send the Nelves to the Maw to be made into weapons and at worst because she was vindictive of someone pitying her blatant villainy. Sylvanas is far, far beyond any sort of redemption.
I wish the Horde would split over all this and become a third faction, I'd follow her into it. Most likely NOT going to happen but I'm gonna hope anyway.... *Ignorance*
I hope she does the same thing like illidan did.
Torlololol here we go again, good person turned bad with a redemption arc because they are a main character.
I wouldn't mind if they redeemed her. I like Sylvanas and she is such an icon of Warcraft universe, they can't just remove her from the game in a random patch as a random raid boss
I hate Silvanus. She is such a milked out, overhyped @#$% character. When she was all mysterious and raising ghouls and @#$% in tendrasill that was $%^&ing cool, but this is just wack.
Dark Lady watch over you.
People justify Sylvanus burning the tree elves alive and call her "morally grey" yet they called Warchief Hellscream irredeemably evil for humanely eliminating a hostile military town with no civilian casualties. This fanbase never ceases to amaze and repulse me.
cant wait to kill sylvanas in the upcoming raid and Tbag on her corpsei've always said i dont care about a video game's story and this is why. the story since warlords of draenor has been random and contrived and the sylvanas arc perfectly represents everything wrong with the storytelling of modern wow. the whole sylvanas story is arbitrary and hollow. I'm not a lore nerd but i thought she was trying to free herself from or at least control the forces of death which was something i think she was doing for the past several years and everything she did in BFA does not deserve a redemption arc. its like cleaning a turd and calling it fresh. the fact that it stinks does not warrant cleanliness.she's not even entertaining of a villain honestly. she's dull, lifeless (fitting) and has no personality other than goth archer mary sue. i'd have more fun if trade prince gallywix was the villain because at least he has a personality.cant wait to kill her off only for the light to be the next villain in the expansion after.
Sylvanas did nothing wrong! For the banshee queen! She was on the right way in BfA but has been stopped by traitors. The burning of Teldrassil was not enough. Total extermination of the Alliance is still the only solution to bring peace to Azeroth! :D
Juuuust kill her for good already. Get rid of her.
