"We are starting from classic onwards, adding monetisation everywhere we didn't the first time" -Blizzard
Blizzard substantiated adding boosts because people wanted to play with their friends. It stands to reason, then, that new player friends would teach them the basics. Why do we need these retail-era intro quests?
Honestly, I have no desire to play TBC again, so I don't even know why I read the articles. But I read this one and just laughed.I mean for all those who're looking forward to this, I hope y'all have a blast. Truly.
but you want you to get the full TBC experience level that blood elf from lv. 1!
Why not just let them figure it out for themselves. Everyone else did."Ask a guard"
Boosts I can tolerate, but the hand-holding quests? Absolutely not wtf. Hand holding is for retail
No to boosts. No to store mounts. No to microtransactions.
Come on... a lot of folks didn't like classic due to the "world of walking" until 40. LOTS more joined and had a good start in TBC.The point here is for those that didn't want to play vanilla but were up for tbc onwards to be able to jump in, level with their mates going through the portal on the first few days of TBC classic and continue playing. That's all fair enough. Starting with a mount and gear in bags is... kinda flavourless, starting with a stupidly easy quest so there's at least some REASON for your character to have those items makes it a fractionally more sensible path to getting set. "all friends will want to play blood elf/draenai" - erm... why? Cos obviously no-one starting in TBC could ever want to play one of the other races? They blocked it precisely because otherwise EVERYONE would buy it and have a draenai shaman/blood elf paladin. That they DIDN'T allow this imo helps point to it being a sensible addition as a "get more folks playing classic" rather than "monetise anything as much as we can". Yes this ones a monetisation policy but it's also totally sensible in a logical way too. I'm as "f**k blizzard" as the next guy for many of their screw ups. This isn't really one of them. This one makes sense.
this line of thinking is what made retail what is today... which is why people play classic, because they don't want to play retail or deal with it's boosts and hyper-monitization
Nooooooo you can't sell boosts in the shop you are ruining the classic experience where you got to pay a mage to leve you instead!
Fantastic! Glad to see this. This will encourage the massive number of Retail players that didn't like or didn't try Classic to get into TBC Classic. This was absolutely needed!
They have already said Belf and Drenei wont be avail for boosts, yall just wanna be mad to be mad. Stop acting like Classic is harder than retail, its embarrassing.
This is a good thing, all things considered. People are still whining about the boost? @#$% off already about it, it's a good thing. Leveling sucks ass, and people who come back/join in on TBC will want to you know actually play TBC not waste time in outdated content.
You know if all the people who hate the boost quit classic...then the community would be a much nicer place so y'all should quit.
Normally I'd be against stuff like this but after playing through Classic once... I can honestly say that leveling is NOT fun at all to do. I've never boosted through hiring someone through dungeons but I might seriously consider it. I get that it's a different experience and all that but this isn't like going from one game genre to another, it's way worse.
This is going to kill the classic experience. Honestly, they %^&*ed retail and now they are !@#$ing TBC, wow is going to be dead by the time that WOTLK classic servers should have been released. This is good actually. The time has come. Let bigger and better animals rule the jungle. Bloated, lazy and greedy ought to die off.
It really just begs the question...how many whales does it take to keep Kotick in the billions
