looks great so far
Oh man I'm getting so damn excited for this! I want it nowwwwww xD
looks great i just disaprove that they reduced the max plot count to 7 now
I will miss having the fourth small plot. The two support buildings (salvage yard, to get building materials and gold; and the storehouse, to increase the amount of storage for daily shipments in other buildings) are just too useful to not have.Which leaves one plot open. With a dual-gathering alt, you have the farm and the mine (both "free" plots) and the barn (medium plot; but has more than just leather). So that leaves the third plot open. With a gathering/crafting alt, you have one of the "free" plots and the prof building for your crafting prof. Again, no problem. But with a dual-crafting alt, you have to either abandon one of the support buildings, or one of your prof buildings. And that doesn't make me happy.I LIKED having at least one set of plots where I don't have to make hard choices. :-( I could put armor-crafting buildings on my dual-gathering and gathering/crafting alts' garrisons (and have a leftover plot on the dual-gathering alt's garrison). And with dual-crafting, I wouldn't have to make a hard choice. Now, every aspect of garrisons is about hard, very unfun choices.Edit: Gaaaaahhhh! Just saw (based on another person's comments...) that they reduced the medium and large garrison sizes, as well.If this stays, it may be the final nail in the coffin for WoD for me. Garrisons were something I was excited about, even as they trimmed away tons of other stuff, but it's becoming less and less exciting...
WoD can not get here fast enough.
"Interesting decisions are the key to good design."Heh. Also, there's just being cruel. The decisions for medium and large were bad enough (get only 3 out 5, each). Now they're horrendous (get only 2 out of 5, each).I think it's time for another hiatus for me.
well no really, to me at least being able to choose 3 out of 5 sounded like a good trade overall but now with 2 its like u are forced to choose, like pretty much the barracks is a must because of the followers boost and all then u have the armory that gives u the free roll which its also nice to have and before i could like place lets say for me the workshop cos i wanted a more militarize style for my main but now i just cant have that. it reduces the size and again forces me to make way harder choices for something that was already fine and its less and less fun, then again hopefully they will reconsider /prays
All of this sounds awesome, but I would like to know if the mats from the profession buildings are going to be BOP. That will ultimately influence my choice of buildings, or will the mats be like our current farms. I like to use multiple toons for my different professions.
I just can't believe they nerfed Garrisons again! Used to be 3 Large plots, 3 Medium plots and 4 Small plots for buildings in Tier 3. Now it'll be 2 Large plots, 2 Medium plots and 3 Small plots for buildings in Tier 3. I was already finding it near-impossible to pick between buildings! Blargh, I'm going mad! :(
I had taken a year off (due to illness leading to exhaustion, and after recovery, just couldn't face going back to WoW).Garrisons drew me back. But they're too generic--I want my garrison to be Pandaren/Mogu, darn it!Then we couldn't put them where we wanted. (I always liked Nagrand.)Then they limited the stat-shifting gear to WoD only, meaning I had to keep grinding for heirlooms (after spending four months grinding Darkmoon Faire and Argent Tournament), if I want to play a prot warrior or paladin, an elemental shaman, or a balance druid. Then they moved the capitals away from the cool new cities (which, I'll be first to admit, they weren't central enough to be transport hubs, even before the faction capitals got moved to Ashran). Then they started rolling in some of the specializations into perks (taking away some of the "interesting choices"), meaning some specializations I wanted weren't selected to be perks. Then they took away the heirlooms tab, which means that all my alts have to STILL juggle heirlooms (and I don't get to withdraw multiples, so I can run multiple alts at once). Now they are taking away almost half of the garrison buildings.I'm done. I'm unsubbing. I'll come back for the anniversary and the pre-WoD launch month, to get whatever anniversary presents they offer and to see the opening of the Dark Portal, but that's it. I'm exhausted again, and am not happy with what they're doing with WoD.Give me flight back, give me the heirloom tab, and make the garrison building less teeth-gnashingly "interesting decision"-y. And then I'll boost my last 6 alts on my main server, plus an Alliance DK, and happily play WoD.
they got rid of a large & medium plot? WHAT?
they got rid of 1 plot of each size
I HEAVILY disapprove of the nerfing of the plots."Interesting decisions are good design" is a poor excuse. We already had to make a heavy set of decisions the first time around, with 5 types of large buildings and us only having 3, and 5 medium with us having to choose 3, and 10 small buildings with the option to choose 4.I could understand (to a degree) reducing the number of small plots, but the large and medium plot cut was COMPLETELY uncalled for. Now, no matter what I choose, I'm gonna be missing out on something I badly want and can't have in any way.
Well, maybe if they add the barracks and the storehouse as a permanant slots, like the mine, it could be ok... but honestly, I think don't think this nerf makes for "interesting" choices at all. I think they should go back to 3 medium and 3 large. I mean, as far as the two I mentioned goes, what kind of a military garrison- which this is- DOESN'T have a barracks for the soldiers or a storehouse for their supplies? just doesn't make sense. I mean, even if we have to give up the mine or herb garden as permanent things I'd be ok with this, personally- since those don't seem to be part and parcel with the very idea of a garrison. Oh- and the armory seems by it's very nature to be essential for a garrison as well- at least one that hopes to survive very long.
I just used the garrison calculator and noticed the pet hut isn't showing for the alliance.I think its should be.T1: 1 small 1 med 1 largeT2: 2" 2" 2"T3: 3" 3" 3"But i'll make due with what's given.
I can't check now since things are down but I don't think the pet plot is showing up on the in-game map. It would be in the blank area at the top, to the left of the town hall. I saw the area with pet toys when I had upgraded to Level 2, but not at Level 1.
Personally I have nothing against small plot downsizing since when choosing 4-th my only criteria was "does it look cool". However going to 2 on medium and large kinda contradicts "Pretty large, but not large enough to have everything" now it looks more like "you can have few and regret cutting back on others". Just like with capitol changes this is a bad one. Would be ok if we could somehow through game-play acquire those 2 "lost" plots
OMG at all this whining about changes before WoD even goes live. It's a good thing that they're making the garrisons about tough choices. I don't want everything given to everyone.
