WoD gearing really was the best. I'd like to see a slight modification of that system - titanforging removed and warforging in place for up to 2 upgrade levels, +5 and +10 ilvls and if we're not lucky enough to get a warforged piece, let us get valor (with a weekly cap of the amount you can grind) that you can use to manually warforge an item up to the same +5 and +10 ilvls limit. So you can get lucky still to get ahead of the game but you can still work towards the same goal without luck.
The problem isn't just for high end guilds, even as a 400-500ish guild the removal of master looter is a nightmare, having to cram every plate user into the bosses that drop 2h swords etc, instead of needing to take 1-2 at most since the chances of 3 dropping were miniscule. It's obviously not as Removed as the extent Method go to, but it still makes things awkward - if they want to remove ML from pugs then make it require a full, 20 man guild group. Capping warforging at some point wouldn't hurt either, but the master looter change is by far the worst quality of life downgrade I've seen, and I've been playing this thing since close to launch.
Removed
*yawn*
They could also remove Warmode and do WQs that flag you and shard you. Events appear on the Map and you fight for a treasure that awards PvP Gear Points etc.And for PvE Yeah just make it a mix between Legion and Warlords Gear can Forge but never Above Mythic Itemlevel besides Mythic + Gear that should not cap at 10+ it should go up to 15+ so as example a 10 key gives you 400 and goes up by 2 until 15+ and the weekly chest (a 10 Key gives you a Token for 400 a 11 one for 402 and so on)is a token that you can use to buy a Gear Piece of 415 that also can forge so not totally RNG similiar to Titanresidium!
It seems he isn't following the developers news nowadays, I think Ion himself told they messed up on difficulty progression. No one noticed they had a couple green fights, most yellow and one red (Jaina), but no orange, which would be between yellow and red in difficulty (I may have misremembered the colors, but anyway).
Agree, WoD has best expansion for raiding (especially on highest difficulty). The amount of grind and preparations that is now required for raiding is just absurd... Blizzard must do something about that...
Honestly going back to WoD will just be a bandaid. Blizzard really needs to rethink how power progression works within expansions. Or even, rethink how power progression works in the game overall. And then they need to create well thought-out systems for that. Especially this expansion, power progression has been terribly unsatisfying. Everything feels temporary and unrewarding - especially the AP grind. It's just moving the goalpost every major patch and grinding the same items again and again. Sidenote: If they want preparation to happen before the raids, then maybe they should bring back attunements like they had in TBC but on the lighter side. I think it was a good idea, implemented poorly. It just doesn't make sense to me that magically the doors for a raid open without you making any effort.
It's sad that apparently what decides who "wins" in raiding isn't skill, but time spent on obnoxious grinds... No idea who this system is meant to be designed for, hardcores would rather have it a test of skill than timesink, and casuals don't care to ap grind and whatnot so it doesn't even provide them "content" as it's something mostly ignored. It's only a tax on hardcore raiders. The scene of top end raiding is shrinking because unless you're a professional streamer or unemployed you'll never justify the amount of time it requires to fulfill all the grinds to be "competitive". I agree it would be more fun to watch more guilds compete at the top level, it would also be more healthy for the game. But Blizzard is slowly suffocating hardcore raiding, sadly, because that's one thing that differentiates wow from sea of other mmos. If there's no residuum cap before 8.2, ap grinding continues, and the plan to introduce new, even more expensive consumables goes through, I expect even more people to step down from mythic raiding dismissing it as "not worth the time and effort" anymore.
Bit backhanded to say it was your first good team since hfc. Basically just saying whoever isnt ur team now that was in Uldir is bad haha
