I still hope they don't announce the next expansion. They never announced an expansion while the last content patch was not even available (iIrc).
Cataclysm was announced before the Fall of the Lich King patch.

This is false. Burning Crusade was announced before 1.9, 1.10, 1.11 or 1.12 were released, Wrath was announced before 2.3 was released, Cataclysm was announced before 3.3 was released, Mists was announced before 4.3 was released, and Battle for Azeroth was announced before Antorus had been opened.
Only Warlords and Legion's announcements were after the final content of the previous expansion had been released... and said content was Siege of Orgimmar or Hellfire Citadel, both of which are notorious for preceeding a lengthy content drought.

I really doubt they're announcing a new expansion when bfa only came out last year.
Yes, because they only did that for... seven out of seven expansions so far.

Prepare to be wrong then. Announce at Blizzcon. The timing is in line. 8.3 is looking like a January release. The alpha for the next expansion would probably start a month or so after that, and give it 6 to 8 months to test. I'd guess a release of September or earlier if the beta goes well (laughs internally). That puts BFA at a 2 year life span, which is probably longer than folks wanted it to stick around for, honestly.

That's my point. They were saying bfa was too short, and I was pointing out how the timing was right, so thanks?
