This is how loot should work to begin with. Stop this RNG nonsense.
This is a great step forward, and I seriously hope this gets adopted in Dragonflight as a normal way of getting loot from raids.
Too late. The game was at its best in season 4 BFA. From there it went down dramatically, until Ion once again saw his money running away. Now they once again rebuild Season 4 BFA
Great move, they should do this for every raid...RNG is fine inside the raids and dungeons....But there should be a way for players to Target loot.... or most people will just feel hoppeless and stop doing what they are doingI have to say, great idea and hope they keepe this with them for dragonflights
100% deterministic loot is stupid. Before they to that they should just get rid of it completly. What is the point if looting something in that case anymore? There would not be any excitment at all left. Antoher RPG mechanic sacrificed for the anti-RNG mob.No gating. No RNG anywhere. No geardrops. ^&*! that sounds bland. The endless hunt for BiS is so stupid. You don't hav full BiS? So what?
Until we know how is the currency obtained this doesn't mean much. I read some speculations that you'll be able to get 1 dinar when you full clear the raid while fated affix is active and you'll be able to get 1 dinar total per raid so you can have max of 3 items from that vendor which I think is fine. Also it's good this is a season 4 only thing because loot being too deterministic just doesn't work in WoW the way it's currently designed.
Giving me WoLK kinda vibes, I don't hate it.
Awesome.
I'm cool with this for a final patch, but I don't know if I'd want to game to be like this all the time.Intended or not, no matter how this stuff to buy it is obtained, it just becomes a grind to get the item from a vendor. I don't want to clear a raid thinking "I'm only doing this so I get the thing to let me buy a better item than the raid drops from a vendor".I'll hold off judging it until I see how the currency is obtained.
I'm very excited about this system and hope the currency being capped at 3 means we get 3 a week similar to the bonus roll systems. Not exactly wanting these tokens to be obtained like how you'd earn bonus rolls since one of them lands you an item 100% but we need something like this for every tier going forward. You shouldn't have to go an entire tier without your BiS trinket, you shouldn't have to do several weeks of raiding and still feel undergeared, you should feel rewarded for your time spent in the game and have the means to obtain useful items to make your character stronger so you don't feel useless, so you don't think you're just wasting your time on a toon you're having fun on but can't properly enjoy because after 10 raid clears your ring/weapon/trinket didn't drop or wasn't passed to you. I'd argue M+ needs this format of the vendors as well.RNG within the raid itself and dungeons are just fine but it feels god awful to not have something to work towards other than a weekly slot machine every Tuesday.
as usual with wow, game's fun at launch and last patch...
This would be a huge step in the right direction. Put in effort, get rewards. Stop the %^&* where a raid group can kill Mythic Painsmith a dozen times and not see a single weapon drop, or an unlucky token group not get their 4pc till weeks after most of the raid group because RNG ^&*!s on them. Random drops are fine as supplemental loot but not having any system in place to make up for piss poor luck is just !@#$ty. I'm sure the people who got their 4pc in two weeks don't care, or those who were running around with a Jaithys in each hand don't care, but for the people who didn't have RNGesus watching over their character creation, this would be fantastic. It already feels bad enough not getting the drops you want week after week when other people do, but knowing you may very well go all tier without getting your drop at any point with no way to remedy that except pray? Feels like #$%^. For the people comparing it to going to a vendor and buy all your gear at the start of the tier, I have to assume you're trolling and not actually that confused by a simple concept. If loot costs currency from doing the raid, there is no effective difference between loot just dropping in the raid, except the removal of your good luck and others bad luck in favor of an equitable loot distribution system where everyone's efforts are rewarded equally and not based on a roll of the dice. A system where you earn currency to select the loot you want means you get rewarded and so does everyone else in your raid who killed the bosses alongside you.
