I've played WoW for 15 years, but I have no idea what this means. I never heard of this guy, but what did he do that Blizzard did not like?
They disabled the comments on the official post about this, so I guess they don't want questions as to what a "6.1(a) - Misconduct outside tournament venue" is. What is worth a one year ban? Did he badmouth Bobby Kotick or something?
For those wondering6.1.a of the AWC 2018 rules6.1 Behavior.(a) Players must at all times observe the highest standards of personal integrityand good sportsmanship. Players are required to behave in a professional and sportsmanlike manner in their interactions with other competitors,Tournament organizers and members of the administration team, the media, sponsors and fans. This includes but is not limited to the following: conduct onsocial media, live streams, videos, in-person at events and on stage, oranything public-facing. What qualifies as “sportsmanlike manner” is up toBlizzard’s discretion.Rules can be found here:https://bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/content_entry_media/fk/FKEGTZXWPMH31518651651435.PDF
Meanwhile Neymar and any other drama queen soccer/football player out there that keep diving (faking foul) are allowed to keep playing. But being a bit of an ass OUTSIDE of the esport scene? no no no. Ban for 1 year!Make a joke in twitter? BAN!Pepe? BAN!Overwatch esport... xDAnd i would assume WoW Esport also the same, Blizzard xd
Clicking on 2018 AWC in the table of OP linked you to the rules. And for those that do not know who he is, he is one of the top healers in arena gameplay. Multiple blizzcon champ.
I assume this is due to his interview where he basically trashed the price pool.
I don't have anything good to say about Activision so I just won't say anything. I'm sure that I am not the only one who feels this way.
Was it this https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/9si2al/god_boetar_comments_on_arena_championship_prize/ ?If yes then fml... If not, anybody got better idea?
Sooo, after all these comments, what did he actually do?
The running theory is that he $%^& talked the prize pool in an interviewhttps://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/9si2al/god_boetar_comments_on_arena_championship_prize/Its great that Blizzard doesn't need to specify at all and can be as arbitrary as they like.
"Don't strike the hand that feeds you"
The problem is, people are sh*ts. If you have strictly laid out rules on something as nebulous as “behaviour,” you get people who act like bratty siblings, “But I’m not touching her!”
