If you really think about it, imagine if you were in Sylvanas's shoes and you were forced to do the soul collecting quest as a daily with an owl watching over you. You can't use mounts and the Maw is still a very dangerous place, not to mention the fact that if shes looking for souls in Torghast, it could feel like a hundred years for her.I used to believe that she could've been executed, but this is an even crueler punishment than death.
I feel bad for the owl. What did he do to deserve this?
I'm just glad they didn't kill her off. That would be a boring ending and she is still a cool character so after she chills off screen for an expansion or 2 it will be nice to see her come back (same as Illidan).
Literally sargeras and illidan 2.0. Send em to a place which is no longer relevant until we know how to continue their story 5 years down the line. Such shallow, bad storytelling
I wonder if she'll find Nathanos in the Maw and if so, what both of their reactions will be.
I look forward to her and Illidan coming back at some point. Hopefully the night elf people set up in nordrassil and we can all get back to Azeroth before the scourge runs rampant more.
Nope. Don't want it. She'll just be back in 3-5 years and make a triumphant return. I'm tired of the character, a character that I once adored. And as for the story itself... I feel like there is a troubling lack of justice. She gets to commit genocide, countless atrocious crimes against humanity... but is shallowly 'redeemed' because of her seemingly instrumental help in conquering the Jailer? Hard pass. You don't get to wreak havoc and get away with it Scot-free. Rescuing souls in the Maw? Cool. Great. But ol' girl is familiar with the Maw. And she's not exactly a weakling. She'll succumb to another bad guy's influence years from now and we'll repeat the cycle all over again. I can't believe that the leaders of the Alliance and Horde are okay with her roaming around unchecked with nothing but a hoot owl watching over her. I'm sure the owl will eventually become influenced by a dark force and she'll yeet herself right on out of there. And the whole "I won't give up on my sister" trope? Get out of here with that. She's a criminal. A murderer. Be done with it.Yes, I'm just another jaded nerd who's beyond tired of Sylvannas xD
Commits genocide > gets redeemed > avoids judgement > gets a soft punishment. This sounds unbelievably bad and dissapointing.
Probably the most perfect ending she could have got.The woman afraid of death sentencing her to the maw... sentenced to the Maw to free everyone else until she is the last soul that remains. We could have just cut off her head and watched her go to Revendreth and becomes BFFs with Kael'thas. For some reason many people want that to happen.:p
I think the idea of death being to soft a punishment for Sylvanas, because she'll go to a covenant doesn't make sense to me. The Arbiter is right there allowing Tyrande to be the judge of Sylvanas' soul surely they can kill Sylvanas have her still confined to the maw AND collect the souls this is just leaving the door open to having Sylvanas return later for some reason I'd rather not see.
This is true justice. Save every soul you damned and then at the end of it, MAYBE we'll forgive you, but not before. Sylvannas will never have power ever again politically as a leader or otherwise. Anduin feels compassion despite everything. True strength is not revenge but i am of the belief if a person desires true change, and wants to atone they should be forgiven.
I don't mind this overall. But I'm a bit disappointed that Arthas didn't get something similar. I mean, they could have both gone to the maw, and atone there together. But oh well, at least it's something.
The gifs here are a nice touch. Good presentation!
"victims prioritized"yea... except for the part where they send ONE - SINGLE - person and an owl to save hundreds of thousands (millions?) of souls from eternal damnation instead of the entire resources of the SLs just to punish the person who is responsible for their suffering.God knows what happens when you're not "prioritized" lmao.
I hope she finds Nathanos :( i miss him
You know genocide doesn't feel as evil when you know that all of them will eventually return as happy little squirrels in Ardenweald. When a person already knows that killing someone will for certainty send them in a heavenly afterlife... How cruel is really killing someone? Now the difference here is that everyone was going to the maw instead but still believing the souls would aid a cause to make everyone's life and afterlife better... I mean, Shadowlands structure made life on Azeroth completely pointless and dispensable.
