Unlike the Totem of the Tundra and Idol of the Wastes a warden in starter quests, this is actually an upgrade over a blue level 70 trinket of https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=27484. The other idol/totem were a weaker version of level 70 epic badge loot.

It looks like Blizzard is going to make relics give group buffs, which is a welcome change for Retribution paladins. This Libram (and others later most likely) combined with our new group talents and with repentance made into an actual CC, we probably won't have such a tough time getting into 5 man groups now.

This is *not* really a good libram for a holy paladin. At most, they'd be getting around 2% spell crit for every 5 secs out of 10 (with standard holy/prot builds), which averages out to 1% crit. On the other hand, the initial PvP librams add a huge amount of constant +spell power to FoL, and there are other nice librams that appear to come from early raiding that either educe the cost of HL, or increase its effectiveness.

Whilst I haven't compared this to lv 80 ret librams (the only reason Libram of Avengement was the best lv 70 ret libram is because the badge ones applied to Seal of Command, a second-rate PvE dps seal when compared to Seal of Blood), it's definitely not one a holy paladin should be using much when considering their other options.

Edit: having looked at the ret librams just then, I can safely say this won't be used by top end raiders either. There's a rare libram which provides more crit rating whenever Divine Storm is used (12 sec cd), and lasts 8 secs - basically, the same amount of uptime as this, but the rare one provides more crit rating and is attached to an attack that commands higher priority in a dps rotation. The PvP librams for ret provide attack power whenever Crusader Strike is used - 120 AP for the max level PvP one to be precise - and that's a fair amount of extra AP. Whilst I'm not sure how much extra AP we'll be seeing on gear, but with the libram having potentially 100% uptime (120 AP for 6 secs, CS has a 6 sec cd) and according to gems 2 AP = 1 normal stat (ie. crit rating), the 120 AP one is arguably better - 61 crit rating up 5/8s of the time (~38 crit rating over time) is not as good as 120 AP up 6/6s of the time, and attached to an attack move with higher priority in the rotation.

Basically, it's decent for levelling rets, and a levelling holy paladin without any decent BC libram could be forgiven for using it until they get their rare+ upgrade. That's about it.

My question is how does this compare to Libram of Divine Judgment, the one that increases AP by 200. I know it doesn't proc on every judgement, but it does Proc often.

I personally prefer this libram over Venture Co. Libram of Retribution , because it simply gives me more dps and uptime.

Judgement>Crusader Strike>Divine Storm

61 crit rating on judgements win because Divine Storm is your last prio on your spell rotation.

So in addition to the 2 seconds (8 second duration, 10 second cooldown on DS) , you will evetually loose some precious seconds due to GCD since you will use Judge and CS before it, Judgement is also your n1 prio spell in the rotation, which gives you the buff almost constantly and is more reliable than Venture Co. Libram of Retribution

I'm using this even at 80.. I've got 2/2 Improved judgements + 1 sec CD reduction from the PVP set bonus and this libram synergizes very well with it. Ultimately I only have a TWO second period when my crit rating is NOT increased by 61. If I time by attacks right, only two or even one of my attacks per fight doesn't get the increased crit effect. I don't find it shameful to equip an iLvl 138 item in my slots, considering how good it is.

Alright so I thought I could just roll up and talk to the ghost cow but that's not it. Ya gotta do her (Spirit Talker Snarlfang) quest chain first.
- Kill Elementals (horrible drop rate but they kinda hyperspawn)
- Spin in front of her
- Go into a cave
- Kill a Kobold
- Leave the cave
- Get your Libram
