The two rewards posted are actually wrong. You will be able to chose between Wingborne Boots (see patch note) and Vigilant Buckler (see patch note). Both reward are now greenies unfortunately.

there must be some bug in general with the rep reward system. for some reason many, many quests don't show the correct amount given.

what do you do with the Enchanted Agate that he gives you back it says its a quest item but I dont have a quest in my log with it

Man, am I tired of hearing you people griping about quest rewards. Is it all about the physical item at the end of the quest? Man, if that were the case, I'd have quit playing this game a long time ago. Take a look at it from a different perspective:

1950 - Malin's Request (assuming it starts there)
3000 - Wand Over Fist
3000 - Trelane's Defenses
300 - An Apprentise's Enchantment
3000 - Attack on the Tower
3750 - Malin's Request

That's a total of 15,000 Experience Points. Now, this chain of quests is capable of being completed by someone in the area of level 35. At level 35, 15,000 Experience Points is going to consume almost 25% of the total you need to get to the next level. That's not reward enough? I would say it is. It's fantastic XP for ONE QUEST STRING.

Quit whining and play the game!

I level slower than anyone else in my guild, because I spend a lot of time doing quests. Even grey ones if I have them. I guess for me, just having a set goal in mind, and working to accomplish it, plus the somewhat interesting storyline, gives me some satisfaction with the game.

Play the game however you want, but take it from a 5 year Everquest veteran, once you get into the "grind mode" and enter the higher levels, a lot of these games start to lose their luster. Pretty soon playing the game becomes like work, and you spend your whole time doing the same instance over and over and over, or being LFG to do said instance.

So, a recomendation to the newer WoW players, take it slow, explore, and actually READ the text in quest dialog (OMFG! READING?)

"the rewards suck" Who cares? Not like your wasting time doing the quest and getting exp a little faster and thus leveling faster so you can go farm mobs for those purples.

Well as a night elf hellbent on getting exalted with stormwind, the quests I've been doing have been for faction not the item (experience was and wasn't a blessing, didn't want to outlevel my other quests!)

At 37 I got 100 stormwind rep for most parts (only 25 for getting the gem enchanted and 150 for the finnal turn in.)

That alone should be urge enough for some to do this quest.

Great quest for xp and ez ending soloable for me but helping a small party of a (36 mage 59 warrior)finish the 2nd and 3rd parts of the string and the shield sells for .65 g at vendor so if your looking for money try Pick pocket! :D lock boxes improve lockpicking skill!

The reward of course sucked for me. But about a week ago I dropped 300/300 herb/alch to pick up mining and enchanting. I have a 250 enchanter; the only reason I did this was because I got tired of selling blues and greens as vendor trash because they were soulbound quest items.

I started this chain at lvl 34 but i'm a hunter and pet saved my arse countless times.
So if u wanna have a go at it, u'll make loads of XP on the ogres in Stormgrade, just to get to the tower of arathor (400XP/ogre killed at lvl 40).
The last part (attack on the tower}, be extra carefull! ogres spawn right next to the chest as u take the items..the elementals won't do @#%^, especially at top of the tower. Bring friends :)

Finished this chain a second ago. I did some quests on the side to lvl my rep with Stormwind and after finishing a quest at Faldir's Cove, I was Exaulted 999/1000 and looking forward at least 1000/1000 but when I got back and turned the Q in, I just got overall Alliance rep. Not a problem at all, just wonder where I'm going to get the extra point. HA.

And by the way, I ended up falling and breaking stealth in a pile of Maulers and, oddly enough, a group of higher lvl raiding hordies saved my arse! :D

Ok, I just got on here to find out what to do with the Enchanted Agate much like the previous player and after reading the many post I am not closer to an answer. If there is nothing I can do with it beside save it or destroy it then let me know. Let's not bicker and argue about who killed whom. This should be a time of celebration and merryment.

i dont get this at all. the shield is GREAT but its a level 40 or so quest...and the sm shield has a LOT more armor and its level 39 required. im glad they buffed the items to blue, but i think the item level is much too low for this quest. as a prot pally i would take 5 block rating over 7 defense rating but the sm shield just has a heap more armor. so i guess if u dont have the sm shield this is a very good shield to level with...i guess if u dont run instances its definately worth ur while.

just completed this chain, i started with about 5g and i now i'm 1 level higher and 8g richer, exp is great, and the money gained from it is very nice, i'd say that's a reward in itself ^.^

I have destroyed the letter and abondoned the quest. I figured i could pick it up again, but i can't. Is there a way I can?

This chain of quest is actually really easy as long as your lvl 35 and i would also suggest of runnig them with a group of atleast 3 players makes it more fun and less a pain.
the only promblem i had with these quest is that you will get ganged up on alot so try and take it slow and pick off the ogres one at a time and this shouldnt take long
not mention all of the XP you get from this you get about 15,000 exp and thats not counting the exp you get from all of the kills needed to complete these quest

Just wait till you are lvl 44. Run in, kill everything. Escape with the loot before there are even re-spawns. Helps that they are no longer leet.

Yeah I soloed this mission as a 38 warlock, died 2 times but it's real easy if you have a little patience

A careful hunter armed with feign death can do this without too much worries. Just climb carefully the first flight of stairs, kill the ogres, get the chest, if your health drops too low and you aggro more than two ogres, run up some of the stairs to a clear area and feign death - you can do this all the way up, getting the three chests. Just be careful when resurrecting, you can feign right after it.

This is a TOUGH mission. You cannot storm the tower without at least two lvl 40 groups. And if you are lvl 40 and don't have something better than either of these you are in sad shape.

Did it with a 32 mage, 46 Priest, and a 51 Feral Druid. Was tough, died a few times, but got it done eventually.

Actually, if you play it smart you can sneak in and loot the pieces. It'll take multiple trips, but as long as you get the pieces when they're relatively unguarded, it's not too hard.

I solo'd this as a lvl 38 ne hunter. The chests were a pain in the arse, my feign death didn't work at all have no idea why. Last time I died after activating the thing outside I just took the equipment damage and res sickness and went back to refugee point and flew off to stormwind to finish.

i soloed this at lvl 38 warrior.. no problem at all.. dinint even use the defense thing.. pretty easy and fun ^^

after such a long and hard quest of fighting elites what a worthless reward. Binds when picked up so we can't even sell it at the AH.
