Although Apothecary Lyndon implies that you must return the venom sac within a certain timespan so that it is delivered fresh, this quest has no quest timer, and the quest item does not expire.

When this item drops -ALL- party members are able to loot it at the same time. Also, this isn't a 100% drop. We found one after our third spider.

I don't know if it was bad luck but this quest took me at least 30 spider skills, the venom sac drop is 5% according to wowhead so don't expect to just come in, kill 3 spiders and leave like I expected.

took me well over 100 kills to get it. i got a rare mob named Witherheart the Stalker to destealth on top of me while I was doing this, also got the rare spider T'Chaz at one point too. I killed way too many for this quest to be worthwhile, but I stuck it out in the end it paid off I guess since I got those two rare mobs.

yup 2 l25 mini spiders pop out. they're one shotable with Arcane Explosion, rank 1, as well...so fairly week, but enough to be a nuiscance

Got mine on the 58'th kill. the spiders were cake at 41, but the humanoids around them can be a real pain.

I received the venom sac after the 2nd kill. Looted it..forgot it was on a timer. Had to kill the spiders again. Got the venom sac after the 2nd kill again. (35,62) at the entrance

I got mine after one kill just outside the walls. But i forgot about the 30 minute timer on it. This timer is "silent" and doesn't pop anything up to let you know its starting, but after 30 minutes and you don't turn the quest, the sac will drop out of your inventory. Don't make the same mistake i did and turn it in right away.

Watch out on this one, if you log out with the venom sac in your bag it will disappear. So unless you want to farm for it twice, turn it in ASAP.

The redeeming factor for this quest is the abundance of white spider meat. the reagent for spider sausage which is a decent item to have for some added stamina. if you do not have the recipe yet check this link: https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/spell=21175. I would also suggest that you pick up Stalking the stalkers and Hunt the Savages in Raventusk before you start this. If you end up grinding this quest, you can kill the stalkers and owl beasts on your trips to and from raventusk for repairs.

i wouldnt conciter this quest unless you really really need the experience because you cant do a bunch of other quests before you hand this on in the venom sac expires after a little bit

This quest is anything but usless, check the chain that it is in, it leads to a quest in Zul'Farrak which is worth over 8000 xp. and at the end of the chain u get some pretty good items to pick from not to mention the xp.

Yes it appears that the drop rate has vastly improved form what it was awhile ago.

The timer still applies though "once you have acquired the quest item", it will only last for 30mins so head back to Tarren Mill asap.

Edit: this quest will more than likely also reward 250 UC rep if you are already above a certain level of rep with your factions cities.

I killed 20 of them and got the item, in this time friends summoned me for dungeon. My pocket was so full so i deleted some things, venom sac was one of them. LOL never do that as i did.

I happened to find an entrance that makes you get directly to the spiders. There's a sort of a crack in the wall at 30,67. It's exactly small enough for you to get through. And please be aware of the fact that you will not be able to get back the same way, but if you follow the wall you should soon see another more obvious entrance (guarded by troll mobs).

Other than that; I got the Undamaged Venom Sac after 5-6 kills. Also, as said earlier you need to turn the sac in before a certain amount of time, but there is not shown any timer (which made me worry a bit as I didn't know how much time I had left to deliver it), but if you have a mount while doing this quest, which I do presume you have, there shouldn't be any problem turning this quest in in time.

Coordinates confirmed Got it after my 10th kill, I'm now on my mount heading back, the duration time of the sac is listed with the sac in your inventory (just mouse over the item)

I took the bird from TM to Revantusk Village. The location of the spiders is 35,64 in the Hinterlands. I killed 12 got the sac finally, went back to Revantusk Village and took the bird to TM. Very easy quest, I'm a 46 Hunter, did it solo

I killed almost every spider (and their spawned offspring) in the walled area around the pyramids for nearly two hours and received no drop of this quest item. This stupid quest sucks because the drop rate is so bad. I did manage to harvest some Sungrass on my way, though. But seeing other player posts stating they got it from the first spider really has me ticked. (solo level 47 mage).

The drop rate is for ALL people killing these things. A lot of people arent actually on this quest so it wont drop for them. The drop rate is skewed and shouldnt really be used as a true judge here.

Strange that some report getting the venom sac on the first drop, and others like me took a very long time to get the drop. So be prepared if you embark on this quest that it could take a while. At least for me, I was Rested and gained about 500xp per spider. Level 44 Warlock with Succubus.

Kill the Witherbark Broodguard spiders. Horrible drop rate, may take 20 - 30 kills before you get the sac.

I killed bout 15 and got the sac. Didnt realize there was a timer so i found out i lost it, went back, and i have seriously killed over 100 spiders and no second drop. I dunno wtf is going on.

I found this quest quite easy. Took me 12 spiders to loot the sac, and returned it to TM with 23 mins to spare.

Tips - Stick to the road when going back to Revantusk Village to fly to TM. Or a more simple way, Make TM your home so you can just hearth when you've looted the venom sac.

The sac lasts 30 minutes now, and it does drop from the spiders at Shadra'Alor. I don't know how rare a drop it is, but it only took me about 10 minutes of killing spiders to get it.

please make sure you remember that there is a duration on it...i thought my quest was bugged when I picked the item up, went questing for a while, went to hand in an hour later and it wasn't in my bag. Then I checked on Thott. There is no quest timer box comes up on screen like I assumed. The item has a duration, I found this when emptying bags, I have never jumped on a bat to Tarren Mill so quickly in all my life!

Must have killed 20+ before it dropped. The venom sac has a 30 minute timer on it so be careful to hand it in asap. As you can imagine, cos the stupid thing took so long to drop for me I raced to hand it in - just in case :)

Took 8 spiders, nice and quick. The best way if you have a horse is to get the UD venom sac then ride straight to Tarren Mill. I timed it both ways from the spider site to the Bats and straight to TM and they are the same. So save the time flying and go straight to TM.

if you are under leveled remember that they cant attack you in water. A couple times i had a bad pull and i just jumped in the water

It took me about 4 hours to have this stupid thing drop, its a really bad drop rate and when it did i found out its only a 30 minute duration so take it back to tauren mill right away

I did this quest 2 times. First time as usual I didn't read the description and timer on the item expired :) Then I noticed a note that the thing "should be fresh". So I had to do it again. But in both cases it took me no more then 10 spiders to get the item. Guess it's just a matter of luck.

Just did solo as 44 warrior.
First spider dropped it at 37,65.
Getting in and out of the FP past the stealthed wolves is the hardet bit.

I got the venom sac pretty fast but I wasn't ready to go back to TM so I didn't pick it up I left it on the corpse because you only have 30 min. to get it back to TM. After filling my bags and finishing another quest there with the winterbark trolls I started killing spiders and spiders and spiders but no drop. So I went back to the same spider that gave me the first drop and Bam. He is right at the foot of the steps that go up to the alter(there are 3 sets)on the right corner is a skull or lamp or somthing unique I can't remember. That is the spider that droped for me twice in a row. Don't forget that you only have 30 min. to get back after you pick it up.

Finally got it after 1.5 hours of killing only the spiders, including the one at the botom of the altar. Finally, that one dropped it. After 3 times of killing it.

Blacksmoke is right. Very easy quest for lvl 43 Shammy. Got the drop from the first 1 i killed outside the temple at 31,70. Easy 3900XP.

1.Go to Tarren Mill. Go to Innkeeper. Make that in your home.
2. Go into Hinterlands to 34, 73.
3. Find a Spider.
4. Kill it.
5. Take the Undamaged Venom Sac (if you don't get one kill another 10.000 spiders until you get one).
6. Heartstone back to Taren Mill.

Voila, finished.

Low Drop Rate, i got it after about 40 minutes of farming them ( 46 Pali ), but for the last 10 minutes this 55 elite spider called "Shadra" ( Who you need for the last part in this chain ) was sitting there continuously chasing me for almost a minute whenever i got within 45 yards of him.

This one eventually dropped after a guildie ran out of time and had to go for dinner. On our way out and it dropped. One of the spiders dropped and pretty nice staff, forgot the name, but I didn't get it. Dropped just near the gate of Shadra'Alor.

Nice quest coors are right 31,70 got the venom sac about 10th kill. quest was a breeze. got 4 spiders slik as well.

before reading this i thought the game was bugged. I have done the 2 times went to UC and now have to go back... if u are doing other quests, get this item last. So i guess i will have 30 mins to get back and my sould stone has 45 mins till i can use again, go figure... good luck

Took me about 20 mins of spider killin in the Troll City at the south to get one. My dumb self went and did some other stuff first so the venom sac disappeared out of my inventory. I think it was at least 30 mins. When I went back to get one it took me a little longer. When I got it I ran to lake and got some mushroom for another quest. Got jumped on the way to turn in sac, ran to TM dead and rezzed at spirit healer only to reappear in Hinterlands graveyard and run back to TM again (mounted). Still got there in time tho so if ya don't mess around too much you don't hafta worry about re-doing quest.

Oh well. You guys were lucky or smth. Been killing them almost 2 hours now, at least I think so, and I haven't got that sac. And now some damn 53 lvl gnome rogue killed me. I hate those little bastards ... It's most depressing quest imho. ( solod as 44 lvl mage)

I got very lucky, it only took about six spiders to get the undamagd sac, and warrior aoe at level 43 should be more than enough to dealwith the spawns.

I had to kill 1300-1350 (might be more. spiders to get this (farmed 3 and a half levels of xp).
The 12% drop rate from the item data in here should be changed immediately. It is VERY misleading.
Worst 12 hours of my life.

30 minute duration on the sac. Had to do this quest 3x before I figured out what was happening.

Also, agreed. Drop rate is low. I got one the first time after about 30 kills. About 20 kills the 2nd & about 40 kills the 3rd Time.

I think it is faster to run to TM than it is to go back to town and fly. Just my opinion.

oof. dropped in like five or six kills, didn't realize limited duration -- actually assumed my bags were full or something until checking here... figured no big deal, took like five, ten minutes, right? an hour and a half later I noped on out. actually a decent grindy quest at level 45 (at least as a druid with abolish poison) -- plentiful mobs, well spaced apart, etc -- but if you're looking to just bang out a bunch of quests, avoid.

SoD Phase 2: I don't recommend doing this until phase 3. As reported before, the drop rate is simply disastrous. I managed to finish the quest after about 90 minutes. As a lvl 40 fire mage I opted to kill the lvl 44 spiders only, as the lvl 45 ones resisted my spells until I was out of mana. On top of that, there is little room to maneuver if you have to run away from a mob. One tip though: The spider's won't follow you into the water.

I must have a fresh sample of the venom you brought me. The spiders from which it was gathered must dwell in the Hinterlands -- hunt them until you find an undamaged venom sac and bring it to me. You will find many spiders near the troll city of Shadra'Alor.
