This is an auto-accept breadcrumb quest that you get after completing Black Heart of Flame.
Before this was added people who completed the quests at Grove of Aessina in a certain order would have no indication that they should go back to the grove to pick up the next quest in the chain.

There seem to be no way of picking up this quest if you already completed Black Heart of Flame before patch 4.0.6, there is no quest available either from Matoclaw or from Blackhorn's Penance.

Quest objective didn't show up on Carbonite, so I dropped the quest hoping to gain insight. Wouldn't you know, it's the one quest in the game that can't be retaken? Gone forever.
