The Wowhead description of this quest is wrong, it actually gives 350 rep, so if you're struggling to get in all the dailies, what with Therazane, Tol Barad, fishing, and cooking, then it is more worth it to turn in this one than any of the others.

It says this is a group quest but it is easily solo-able.

Whilst this is soloable can I also suggest that either out of politeness or from a purely selfish perspective you invite any other players who are waiting for Halthar to spawn to group with you.

That way you can all get the quest done and no undignified scrambling to tag him first!

Would like to know what opens up this daily. Rep? Certain quests done? I've completed all the ones in Thundermar, but yet cannot get the daily.

The group recommendation is not necessary I solo it every day on my shadow priest. The Windhammer NPCs will join

Halthar is susceptible to mind control so if you are a priest or engineer you can turn him against the other orcs that spawn with him, making this an easy solo.

He can also be stunned, polymorphed and such so if you have crowd control spells don't have to fight him and all his friends at once.

Truly the easiest daily of Twilight Highlands :)
Too easy to be called a Group quest as i soloed this the first time, and all the times afterwards as well.

My way as a Frost DK:
Make sure you have AotD and Raise Dead ready before you attack him, and summon both as you run in for the kill. Down in less than 30 sec.

How exactly is this REPEATABLE, anyway? I mean, realistically if you killed him once he'd be dead... so why is he back every day?

L85 arms warrior. SOLO-ABLE yes ... with the aid of the Wildhammers ! Fly in and land at the SouthWest corner of Halthar's little village. Sneak forward and try to loot a barrel of booze (object of another Thundermar daily "Fight Like A Wildhammer") or shoot to attract attention of one of the henchmen. A henchman will attack you AND UNLESS you are unlucky, a mob of Wildhammer bas-asres will come to your aid ! After that, work with the Wildhammers to clear the henchmen, and then unite with them to kill Halthar. (Loot and get out QUICK. Halthar and his henchmen respawn quickly). This has worked every time I have tried it. You will need to adapt procedure to your class etc.
