You will only get this quest once you complete The Final Piece and have not started the quest chain that starts with The Ruins of Kel'Theril from Kelek Skykeeper. Not sure if this is a oversight by Blizzard, but he can be found in Felwood at the Emerald Sanctuary and in Winterspring west of Lake Kel'Theril.

I went to turn-in the quest, saw the yellow question mark on my map, but no NPC to turn it in to. Anyone have an idea of what I was doing wrong? I have the book still in my inventory.

I missed out on this quest and it's reward because I took The Ruins of Kel'Theril from Kelek Skykeeper in Felwood! Blizzard really needs to either remove him from Felwood or remove the quest from him while he's in Felwood!

If you've accepted The Ruins of Kel'Theril from Kelek Skykeeper in Felwood and have not yet completed The Final Piece then I strongly recommend that you abandon The Ruins of Kel'Theril before handing in the Crudely-Written Log to Donova Snowden.

EDIT: I submitted an in-game ticket about this. The GM who spoke to me understood the problem but, as far as Blizzard are concerned, this is working as intended! Once you accept The Ruins of Kel'Theril from Kelek Skykeeper in Felwood this quest will be blocked from you!

Upon completion he says:

"Yes, if you let me examine this for a while, I might be able to translate it for you.

<Kelek flips through the pages.>

When I am able to look over this fully, I will send word to you."

I am trying to get Timbermaw rep, has anyone seen any continuation of this questline about the Timbermaw or has Bliz dropped the ball?

I accidentally deleted the quest item (log book) from my inventory. Accidentally. Really. It can happen!

Anyway- after realizing moments later that i now didn't have an item to give to the guy waiting for the book, and much anguish about how to get another one in order to complete the quest (tried camping the furbolg chieftain, but it's true, if you're not on the previous quest to get the book - quest which i'd completed already - he won't drop it again.)
HOWEVER, I finally dared to abandon the quest (Words of the High Chief), relogged, and went back to Donova Snowden who originally gave it- and voila! there it was! She gave me the book along with the quest, so all's right with the world (of warcraft) once again! XD

If you are here for Everlook rep (hello, fellow Insane wannabe) and how to get this quest, here is the step by step guide:

Step 1: check if you have the quest The Ruins of Kel'Theril in quest log, if yes abandon it and go to Step 3. If not, go to Step 2.

Step 2: go to NPC Kelek Skykeeper (near The Ruins of Kel'Theril in Winterspring) and check if you can get the quest The Ruins of Kel'Theril from him. If not tough luck, you' ve already done it and can't get Words of the High Chief any more. DO NOT take the The Ruins of Kel'Theril quest, as it will prevent you from getting Words of the High Chief.

Step 3: grabd the quest Mystery Goo from the cauldron in the Winterfall camps north of Donova Snowden and go to her to turn it in.

Step 4: Now grab the quests Winfertall Runners from Donova Snowden and do it (the mob you need can easily be found on the road from Timbermaw Hold to Everlook)

Step 5: Grab High Chief Winterfall from Donova Snowden. When you kill High Chief Winterfall, he will drop Crudely-Written Log that starts The Final Piece. This is the only way to get the item, it will not drop if you are not on the High Chief Winterfall quest.

Step 6: Go back to Donova Snowden, the next quest in the chain is finally Words of the High Chief. Enjoy your extra (and easily earned) goblin rep :)

Note: the next step in the chain is The Ruins of KelTheril which you can now complete safely if you so wish.

This quest also rewards rep with Ratchet, Gadgetzan, and Booty Bay - 137/138 with guild perks. So, I'd assume 125 rep each w/o perk.

go to Donova Snowden and start https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=28464.
now run this short chain, that ends with killing the chief. he will drop Registro Scritto Grezzamente, accept it and finish it (2 hand-ins) and u have the trinket.

Post shattering update:
Here is the quest chain to get either trinket.
You no longer need to get the empty vial.

1. It all starts with Falling To Corruption , which then directs you to the cauldron in the Furlbog camp.
2. Mystery Goo
3. Winterfall Runners
4. High Chief Winterfall
5. The Final Piece
6. Words of the High Chief

If you deleted the book don't panic. Just abandon the quest and go to Donova Snowden. She'll have a quest available that gives you the book and the quest.

This quest seems to be unlinked from The Ruins of Kel'Theril. One is not dependant on other in any way.

[The Winterfall are no longer a threat to me, but if you still want to find out what was driving the furbolg to create and consume this strange firewater, I think you should seek out Kelek Skykeeper.

He's a druid that once worked to help cleanse Felwood with the Emerald Circle, and has since come here to study the nearby ruins.

You might be able to find him to the east at Lake Kel'theril, where he spends his time recently.]
