If you have a pet you need to dismiss it before approaching Millhouse. Otherwise he aggros it and you wont get the quest completed. My main advices on this quest would be "be patient" and "dont aggro anything".

This is what you need to do:

-Get the box from the Trog Area earlier in the lake.
-Go where the Elite Ogre Bodyguards are and use the box and stand in the water.
-If you get too close to where they attack you, run away and don't kill anything.
-When you see the shouted red text "Here she comes boss" wait and don't move until you get credit. You will also get a buff called "submerged" when this happens, but all you need to do is wait for the shout and stay put.

That is all you need to do.

People running around, too close or attacking the bodyguards will ruin the quest and you need to back up and come close again until you get the "Here she comes boss" message."(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

I wasn't able to get this quest to go until I went just east of Millhouse's position, underneath the quicksilver. Swim around until you find the right spot. If you turn and face Millhouse, you should be lined up directly with him if you face west. If you're lined up with any of the ogres, you've moved too far.

Step1. Get in the water away from the ogres. while the ogres are spawned.

Step2. Use the box.

Step3. Move closer to the ogres. DO NOT LET YOUR BODY SHOW.

Step4. Enjoy the cinematic.

As for the more tedious part of the quest, getting to the cinematic... Here is probably the SAFEST way.

1: make sure you are at least one whole island away from Millhouse. use the crate and get in the water.

2: making sure you don't wander close enough to stop swimming, make your way counter-clockwise around the island in between you and Millhouse.. stay in the water and attempt to swim past him.

3: watch cinematic

4: when you leave the cinematic.... do not simply jump out of water. Stay underwater and swim around toward where you started. you will be sufficiently far away to hop out of water with a completed quest.

It looks like either because of MoP, or a previous fix.. the glittering effect which identifies a lootable box has been slightly intensified. Also, it seems the window for activating the cinematic has been widened as well. Having done this quest in Cata about 8 times (yes, 1 main, 7 alts) I brought my 8th alt through and accidentally swam to far out and deep than before and the scene still occurred.

For some reason after I got the cutscreen, Millhouse chased me around the zone, randomly appearing and attacking me (including while I paused in midair, high above the ground, to check my quest log). He did not go away after I turned in the quest, so I stopped and beat him until he turned green and said "You'll never catch me alive!". I stayed in combat until I ran far enough away. I have no idea what could have caused this.

If you keep this quest in your log, anytime you go underwater you receive a buff called Submersion where you have no breathe bar and you cannot drown.

Obviously you can't complete Deepholme without continuing, but if you were racing to 85 like me and coincidentally dinged right when you got this quest, then you carried this buff everywhere there was water, lol.

While you're getting your crate, you might as well kill the nearby Murkstone Trogg and get the quest item, Maziel's Research and kill a few oozes.

SOLUTION FOR EVERYTHING:

1. Put on the crate
2. Go into the water in front of the camp to submerge yourself. Don't go to close
3. Log out
4. Log in
5. Voila, there's your cutscene
6. Do NOT immediately skip the cutscene or the quest will not appear finished.

I pressed esc and confirmed to skip the video (have already seen it twice with other chars) and the quest didnt complete.
Tried to approach again but the vid didnt trigger.
Aborted to retake but going in and out of the area didnt come up with the usual pop up.
I had to go back to Temple of the Earth to get the quest from Maruut Stormbinder

Also while doing that quest dont forget to kill a mercurial ooze to get a quest item and start another small chain around this area.

Note: If you skip the cinematic, you fail the quest.

If you fail the quest, you can't get another crate, you have to drop the quest and pick it up again.

k after half an hour figuring this out

a) get the crate, its brown and its all over the place
b) u see the red ogres in that same area? dont go near them, use the crate and dont let them see u, go submerged on the water near them
c) be on the look out for millhouse, get near him but dont let him see u
d) a cinematic will happen, as previously stated on another post, dont click ESCAPE or else quest wont be done
e) quest done

The exact position you need is 75.22, 64.75. Approach from the water and within a minute the film sequence will begin. If it doesn't then approach the guard to the right of Millhouse(His left) and run away into the water so that he chases you. Don't fight him. After you leave combat approach to the above coordinates. The sequence will definateley run then.

If you abandon the Quicksilver Submersion quest out of frustration if it doesn't work the first (or second, or third) time like I did, visit Maruut Stonebinder in the Temple of Earth to get it again.

Also, if you are sitting there in the water with the crate on your head and nothing is happening (i.e., the ogres and the gnome are there, but no cutscene), swim away a little bit and then swim back, and the cutscene should begin.

Be sure to kill a trogg while you're there--they drop an item that begins the Twilight Research quest.

Just to see if would work, I tried going into stealth mode and swimming up to Millhouse without using the box. I swam by M and the ogres undetected but didn't start the cinematic. Sorry, Rogues, like it or not, you gotta use the box to finish the quest.

The problem you guys are having is that,,.... you have to use crate b4 going up to the area, use the crate then walk into water towards goblin.

thanx to oliveoyle for making the comment....everybody isnt dumb because they do things wrong. they just do not know. sometimes it would be good if you would understand that a lot of us are still learning this game even at higher levels there is so very much to learn. i make a whole lot of mistakes...a whole lot. difference is when i see somebody that needs assistance i always try to give it. Stupid! I just spent 30 minutes trying to do this quest with my second toon first was smooth as silk..........second one I didn't even put on the box 1 jumped in the water, swam to the left of the ogres and poooof cinematics no box required lol

I made the mistake to kill an ogre and the quest did not work for some time even though I had the submerged buff, the crate and was close enough.
Then the ogre respawned but it did not help until he saw me chased me and left combat as I had fled this time. Then I came back and as soon as I got into the water, not so close from the gnome then (75.0 64.7) and not even wearing the crate on me anymore i got the suberged buff the cinematic started and the quest completed.

When I first did this quest, Manastorm's dialogue did not show up on the screen. So for anyone else who missed it, here is the exchange:

Ogre Bodyguard yells: Here she comes, boss!
High Priestess Azil yells: Forgemaster! I've been informed the enemy has disrupted your operations. Where is the fragment?
Millhouse Manastorm says: The fragment is now in the dragon's custody, ma'am.
High Priestess Azil says: Well done. Meet me inside the Stonecore for further instructions.
Millhouse Manastorm says: Of course, ma'am. At once!
Millhouse Manastorm says: If you don't mind me asking. How did we manage to recover the fragment? How did we infiltrate our enemies' forces without their knowledge?

Solution to bugged quest problem - abandon and reacquire (this means flying back to the temple of the earth, getting the quest again, and flying back). Second time it worked for me, but i've heard with other cata bugged quests it may take more than one try.

For those of you who can't find the crate:

Fly above the camp where the quest will be done.
To the northeast of where you are you will see a little mini island with a tiny rock formation on it
Fly to it. Right behind it should be a little stack of boxes (only one will be glittery) guarded by a trogg. There ya go.

Now here comes the tricky part:
Go submerge yourself in the water next to the forgemaster. Put on the box.
Swim all the way to your left until you're behind the ogre body guard. If it doesn't trigger immediately from you being behind this ogre, swim back and forth (left to right and vice versa) until it triggers. This did it for me. I didn't need to walk on land for it to work, but be careful in doing so if needed.

I didn't skip the cinematic so I don't know if exiting out will cause the quest to be incomplete, but I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you're patient enough to fly back to the temple and back again to do it over.

I think the quest bugs if you aggro the trolls to begin with.
I didn't read the quest properly and just ran straight into the middle of the camp with the box on my head like a newwwb and aggro'd everything. I ran away and then came back and got into the water etc, but i couldn't do anything to trigger the cinematic, i'm not saying for definate that if you aggro them it bugs the quest, just a possiblity as I could not seem to trigger the cinematic.
I had to abandon the quest and then get the quest again from Maruut Stonebinder in the Temple of Earth, after that, it worked fine.

I'm not sure if anyone else ran into this problem, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I didn't even need to use the box to complete this quest. I'm not sure if I was misreading earlier posts, but I was swimming up to the island Millhouse is on and waiting for the cut-scene WITH the box on my head. After ten or so minutes of it not working, I reread the posts and thought, maybe I put the box on after I'm in place. The cut-scene started without me having the box on my head. So, if you're having a lot of problems with this quest, you could try that. Or I could have just run into a bug and you could be killed by ogres.

All these comments and none that say where Crate is. lol Ok Crate is 71 and 64 the decimal points are not needed to find, You will see them. Spawn rate for Troggs a almost immediate at Crate Site. If you do not have map add on, there is a purple spire rock sticking up from an island in the Lake. It very close to that. I looked fore Crate 15 minutes. Hope your faster.

This quest is frustrating and every time I do it I need to come to wowhead and see the different tricks to get it finished.

Anyway, after spending 10 minutes being Michael Phelps I right clicked my box off and swam to the edge of the water (towards the tent) and the cinematic worked. No box needed.

Crates are located at 71.9/63.9. They have stars eminating from them so just left click and you've acquired a crate. Just make sure your in Deathwing's Fall and not Deepholm, however, the coordinates will lead you to the right location.

I went into the water first then clicked on the crate and one appeared on my head. Perfect.

I emerged in back of an Orge standing by himself. They don't seem to aggro much since I weas litterally almost directly in back of him. I would not recommend attacking one alone as they have health of prox 243k. Not something to play with without a pet or someone else.

Submerged with the box floating above me I moved left until I was parellel to Millhouse and BLAM! Quest Completed.

Then the cutscene took over and High Priestess Anzil tells Millhouse who has the fragment.

It made me giggle a little when I looted the crate and a Trogg charged me saying "You no take crate!"

I felt as though there should have been a crate reward with a message "I TAKE crate!"

Sadly, there's only the lower level, Alliance quest that does that (that I know of).

This was glitched on my hunter for a long time, i spent like an hour trying to get it, for hunters try dismissing your pet first, otherwise without a pet or for any other class, go to 74.54, 64.20 and go underwater and put on the box, then go to 74.86, 64.91 to trigger the cinematic.

Okay, so i started this again. knocked out out in about 5 seconds. This is how i did it: I went on the island (74.97, 64.56) right in front of the bosses, put the box on walked toward them making myself under the water within a couple seconds it was complete!

I just managed to complete this quest and it happened completely differently from the top comment.

Here's how I managed it;

I picked up the crate with no problem, once I had it I ran over to the little camp. I tried standing and waiting in the water near the gnome and near the ogres to his left and right. Nothing happened.

I got agro from the ogre to his left and ran backwards towards the wall. I ran round and managed to drop the agro. As I was swimming back to the camp I suddenly got into the cutscene that gave me the credit. (There was no red text indicating the start of the cutscene)

Hopefully this helps for anyone that is still having trouble.

Step 1: Grab the Crate from the place on the map
Step 2: Fly over to the NPC's
Step 3: Right click the crate and swim UNDER-water ( Under the water is important ) up and down and it will phase you out.

End of.

As of 5/24/2024 it's bugged in cata classic with a slime in the wall that evades. I read you either have to kill the slime or log out and in. I tried logging out then back in when I was already in the water close and that fixed it. I did try to kill the slime first but died because it would evade and go back to full health while the elites wacked me off.

Ok I have put the crate on, and swam all around the NPCs even got right up next to them and nothing is happening they just stand there. Is this bugged?
