The worms are found in Worm Mounds which are nearly invisible objects around the pond, so just keep looking for the mounds.

Access to Olivia's Pond is through the Dwarven District at approx. 62,29. The pond should be visible from the archway and you can either go down the ramp to the right or just jump off the ledge. The worms are located in mounds of dirt; I had trouble seeing them, so I had to sweep my mouse around until I found one.

I would recommending do this with Penny's Pumpkin Pancakes since it's in the same area.

confirm the point about them being virtually invisible. only came across one because cursor changed to the cog, otherwise would never have seen it

I zoomed into first person and scanned the shore of Olivia's Pond for ten minutes before I pulled the camera all the way out and swept the mouse pointer over the screen until it turned into a cog. I got close and scanned all over the ground and never caught a hint of a sparkle. In future I'll just sweep the pointer over the landscape until I find the worm mound.

BTW: got a crystal bass on my first cast :)

The sparkle size must've been fixed, because mine was crazy easy to see. After reading these comments and getting all worried, I ran to the location and found the normal sized sparkle in less than 3 seconds.

Also got the Bass on my first cast, just like the above poster. Dunno if that's a pattern or a coincidence.

The worm is in a mound - that is OUTSIDE the pond.
Use the worm then fish. GL

really needs fixing, the sparkle is still not that visible and needs enlarging even more, and they also need to add some more mounds.

Make sure you have the buff after digging up the worm. I had a worm in inventory, but didn't catch anything at all, even on 110 casts. I destroyed the worm, and dug up another one. The second time, I got a fish-catching buff & got the crystal bass on the second cast.

boy oh boy, am i a goof ball, had i read the tool tip, i would have KNOWN to use the worm, i fished for a half hour before realizing i had to use the worm first, got a lot of good fishing mats, then when iused the worm i got it on my first cast

If you try to loot it and you cant, like no looting window/loot in bag, EXIT game, a simple relog won*t work.

started at 11 fishing with a basic fishing pole and no lure. 22 casts, nothing but junk (yes, I had the worm lure)
Then I added a shiny bauble (+25 fishing) bringing me up to 57 fishing, very next cast I caught both a fish and the Crystal Bass. How I caught several fish on one hook, I'm not sure, but it DOES seem to imply a minimum fishing level to catch (50+ I'd guess).

Then again it could have been pure luck and coincidence.

I'm guessing the designer of this quest is a fan of "Fringe":

Olivia = main character
pond = Reiden Lake, where Walter first crosses to the alternate universe
giant earthworms = episodes featuring larvae and/or parasites (as in alt-Charlie has "worms")
crystal bass = episode with exploding crystallized people

Note that the buff from the worm does NOT affect your fishing pole, so you can still use a lure buff at the same time!

I must have phenomenally bad luck.
I started at fishing level one.
I am now at fishing level 51.
I just earned the 50 Fish achievement.
I am finding and using the worms with no problem.
(I'm an herbalist, and oddly enough worms are apparently an herb.)
Still no Crystal Bass.

Edit: Confirmed, my luck really is just that bad, fishing in the same spot I finally caught the Crystal Bass at fishing level 66.

is a daily Fishing quest (Cataclysm)
To complete the quest you will need 1x Crystal Bass .

To get your Crystal Bass you will have to go to Olivia's pond (In stormwind ) .

After that you will have to get one Overgrown Earthworm That can be found around Olivia's Pond (on the grass) and use it .

You will get a buff called Worm Bait , then start fishing anywhere near Olivia's Pond !

At full fishing skill , took me one catch !

For those who have just done this quest for the 1st time. I found the worms are stackable on the fishing pole. When I did that. Got my bass on the 2nd try. Alot faster than I thought it would take. So stack those worms on your pole.

Thank god for Fryfox's comment saying to make sure you have the buff, cause i spent like half an hour fishing and no quest fish, but as soon as i read what Fyrfoxsaid i'm like thank you, and next time i will read alll the comments on an issue i'm having, i had stopped at where to find the pond....silly brainless me lol You are awesome Fyrfox :)

It took me over 20 minutes to get the fish. I started at fishing skill level 3 and ended at 59 when i finally caught the !@#$ing fish.

Is anyone else having problems just picking up this daily? I have been in Stormwind for the past couple of weeks have gone to the trainer everyday and it hasn't been the quest offered. Starting to get a little frustrated.

EDIT - Finally got it today after weeks of trying.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but everytime I've done this quest, I've caught only Longjaw Mud Snappers and such, until little Olivia Jayne walks past me, then I catch the Crystal Bass! I guess she's my little good luck charm in Stormwind!

Used two worm baits and 20 minutes later nothing
Would never recommend unless you're simply grinding out for Fish or Cut Bait: Stormwind

[Hey there, Angler! Arnold here tells me that you have been looking for a new fishing spot and I think I know just the place. North of Stormwind there is a great little spot called Olivia's Pond.

The pond is stocked with crystal bass every year but they are hard to catch. They only bite on a very specific type of bait... overgrown earthworms. If you search the shore around the pond, you should find plenty of worms to use as bait.]
