Around the large, open main area there are pits filled with big pearls. The pearl miners you need to save aren't really visible at the surface, you need to go up to the edge of the pits and look down in there. You can rescue NPCs of either faction.

If - like me - you're here because you're trying to save a Horde/Alliance Slave Mage; they're not the targets you need to be saving. It is the miners.
Seems obvious to say, but myself and plenty of other people where standing on top of those Mages trying to lasso them.

The quest may bug the first time. If you don't receive Duarn's Rope, log out and back in. You may lose the quest in your log, but you can pick it up again from Earthmender Duarn in the brain room. I got the the rope on my second try.

Yes - look for the Pits with the PEARLS - and you will-see the Enslaved Miners (with Yellow Titles).
Then just throw your ROPE and RESCUE them!
EZ - ONCE I found the RIGHT PIT (with the pearls and enslaved miners).

You don't have to see the miners to save them. If you hear them clinking away with their hammers and you are next to one of the big pearls, throw the rope-you will likely get one.

Got 6 from 56.10, 57.00 and the other 2 at 55.54,58.57. You can hear them working their pick axes on the pearl boulders. If you don't hear anything, there is no one there.

Plenty also seen across the aisle where another cluster of pearl boulders were.

Some useful info - Using the warrior ability, Heroic Leap to get past the invisible wall, you can get yourself stuck in the pits and be forced to hearth out :) so I wouldn't recommend using this and accidentally getting stuck like I did.

If you want a bit of extra xp (or are feeling sadistic), you can "rescue" slaves of the opposite faction and quickly attack them before they despawn for an easy kill. Just make sure you get quest credit before attacking them.
