No, he`s in the camp where you get the quest. When you stand in front of the questgiver looking at him, Narain is to your right.

The bug is not attacked by red npcs. I walked it to Gadgetzan without loosing control of it, spamming the first ability for fun animations. In gagdetzan ppl could read my /emotes and attack it (to be killed by guards).
Edit: Lost control of it when trying to leave tanaris. Also, when killed by a horde you "get ejected" from the vehicle and watch yourself fly all the way back to the camp at top speed.

What a great quest.
A mind-controlled insect loaded with bombs being brought by pheromones to the hive for a big class A explosion.
This is Warcraft.

This quest took me a while to do as I could not find where the center of the cave was in order to explode the payload. I came here hoping for some help but only found what the quest references to.
I managed to eventually find the correct area and detonate the bomb.
So if anyone else is having trouble like I did here is the information to help you find the right place to detonate.

First make your way to The Gaping Chasm and as you go down the spiral ramp take the first entrance you come to, this should be on your left as you descend (if you face the entrance you should be facing west).
Once inside take the next left when you can and follow this path down and you will come to a fairly large cavernous room full of Silithid's and what looks like a grey rock sticking up out the ground.
Run very close to this rock and you will be able to detonate the payload there.

There may be other places that work but I know for sure that this place was successful.
The specific coords that worked for me were (54.5, 72.1)

Just spent about 15 minutes trying to figure this out. Turns out there are multiple entrances inside the bug cavern. I went down the wrong entrance and couldn't complete it. Upon exiting the entrance, I found another one, used the pheromone button, and had a bright red trail light up for me to follow!

To anyone who's having troubles, I'd recommend walking up to an entrance and hitting the pheromone button. No red trail? Try another entrance! (they seem to all be at the bottom of the gaping chasm).

Once you get to the rock in the middle, walk up on Top of the rock and set off your explosives.

Pretty cool - a lot less annoying than the 'Chicken of the Desert' and 'Gazer Tag' quests were because of the grinding with low drop rates.

Still -- how exactly are you not killed in the blast with all the bugs? You're basically a suicide bomber in there, but magically without the suicide!

I failed the quest the first time. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but there was no chamber full of bugs.
So, I logged out then back in. I started the quest again and strictly followed the pheromone trail. When one stopped, I immediately started up the next one and that led me directly to the correct, now, bug filled cave, where I blew up.

Seems to be a bit bugged.... got to the location and no pheromone trail or bugs anywhere to be seen... logged out and back worked for me not wife... she tried a second time... and it worked... if you don't see a bug outside the entrance try to relog or drop and re-take the quest

If you're having trouble finding the pheromone trail, stop and use the pheromone button. The sillithid will 'point' the way to the pheremone trail. Walk over and repeat until you see the lovely red trail.

Also, I found I had to climb on top of the rock to detonate.

This quest works like a charm IF the pheromone button is actually working. If you hit the button and you don't see a red trail, log out and start over. You will never get it to work unless the trail shows up. The first time I tried it, there were no bugs in the cave; I knew that couldn't be right! Easy quest if you can follow the trail, though. Unfortunately, this is a "buggy" quest! Pun absolutely intended!

It looks like you don't even need to be in the center of the hive now. I accidentally hit the wrong button right after making the first left into the hive, the bug exploded and I got credit for the quest.

Bugged in 4.3, so many quests are bugged after patch, that sucks, anyway this one prevents you from getting achiv for Tanaris quest cause its break a q hub.

Actually you can complete the Tanaris achievement without this quest. Just go to the Dunemaul Compound and find the recruitment camp. You can pick up quests from there and finish out the 40 quests.

Works like a charm now. Drive the bug 'vehicle' down close to the Gaping Chasm and hit the pheromone button. It shows an orange directional path that leads you right to the center of the hive.

I had to jockey around a bit, around the large grey rock in the center. I got a 'must be in the center' message a time or two, but then I hit the bomb and BOOM! Dead Bugs.

Automatically ported back to the quest giver area.

Don't do what I did and try and walk into the hive, as usual I didn't read the whole quest info. You talk to Narain Soothfancy and tell him your ready You will ride a big bug and need to head into the bug hive, don't worry, when your on the bug none of the other bugs will attack you. Once you enter the cave press 1 to find the center. Once you find it, head to the middle, you will know your in the center with all the bugs around. Click on 2 to blow up the cave and you complete the quest. And yeah, this seems to be more parody from Starship Troppers.

54,71 is the location you want, climb your drone on top of the rock as it doesn't like it if you are on the outer edge of it. It is a circular room with a gray spot in the middle on the map.
