I found most of my Rotting Slimes around the Dor'Danil Barrow den (72,78). Drop rate is about 50%. It's a fairly busy area so watch out for Severed Druids/Keepers, Ashenvale Outrunners and Sharptalon who paths about the area.

This was pretty simple, just run around the blue shaded area on map N from where the quest giver is.
