Go Depeche Mode! Also you can use the screwdriver on robots that have already been slain by someone else! Appears that any of the mobile robots can be de-programmed (Scalding Pools area) 58.20 and vicinity

Ahem...here's some useful information about the quest: You can kill any of the robots in the scalding water area, right-mouse click the "Ultrsonic Screwdriver" in your inventory and the robot will be re-programmed. The really cool thing is, once the robot is repaired it follows you for a while, like a pet, and will do damage to things that attack you! And, the best part is that you can re-program ANY dead robot, even if you didn't kill it.

so when farming these guys i "engineered" their corpses and this dropped for me along with lots of other engineering items . looks like a good farming spot. only i guess with this quest i wont be able to engineer them. because im reprogramming them?

Doctor who reference can still be applied for this quest (previous one being Ultrasonic Screwdriver) since the Dr. had a robotic dog named K9, which always called him "Master".

The screwdriver still works once you hit the 15, so I kept using it to have a small army of bots to fight Mechazod with. Didn't need them, but still fun!

There is a character in the Doctor Who world called "The Master", who happens to be another Time Lord. I imagine this quest is still referring to Doctor Who with the use of his Ultrasonic Screwdriver.

The screwdriver works on any of the robots in the Scalding Pools, not just the ones previously mentioned.

Seeing as how there are several other quests and NPCs that reference Depeche Mode songs in the game, its 99% likely this too is a DM reference.

I had as many as TWO reprogrammed robots who would fight with me. It came in handy when trying to cross the fields. I almost thought of keeping the screwdriver just for fun, but the reward from the quest was too nice to pass on... I think that's why they make the xp so high on this one.

Use the Ultrasonic Screwdriver to reprogram 15 robots and then return to Crafty Wobblesprocket at Fizzcrank Airstrip.

Make sure to loot the dead robot before you reprogram it.

The Ultrasonic Screwdriver is the ultimate tool. It can do anything to mechanical stuff!

Head back into the pools and dismantle a number of Mechazod's robots. Then all you have to do is use the screwdriver on their remains, and I'm betting that they'll turn to our side, for a short time anyway.

I'm pretty sure it won't work on the mechagnomes, so don't even bother with them.

Oh, and if you want to take anything from the robot's insides, you'll want to do so before using the screwdriver!
