Why is this elite? I cleared around the first 4 at 53,72 and nothing "elite" happened. Went to the other location, killed the final one and rode home. Too easy.

Look for a tree stump thats chopped off in a shape of a cone, there should be red flames coming out of it too. It should be guarded by about 4 firemanes, don't worrey only 1 mob pulls though.

Inside the Stump you should find about 3-4 eggs

The stumps should be scattered throughout the wyrmbog (east of mudsprocket)

Way easy to stealth run it. Just get IN the trunk with the eggs and start breakin them. I only aggro'd one Flamecaller.

i dont know if anyone else notices, but when you start attacking the eggs, there is a shadow overhead that looks like ony, just wanted to know if anyone else noticed it

Haste effects such as Icy Veins do not make you attack the eggs any faster.

is this quest bugged recently? I have done this quest before but now iam doing it on my lock and i can not target the eggs. i get the sword showing they are attackable but it wont let me click on them or target them to kill i have tried aoe and nothing either. Any input would be appreciated as i want those boots and am getting frustrated lol

We searched and searched for these eggs and finally found them. If you're facing out of Onxyia's Lair, they are south and a little east in a crater looking thing. There are some smoking stacks next to it and 4 level 43-44 elite mobs surrounding them. There's 4 eggs to each nest. There is another nest almost directly easy of her lair. Also surrounded by 4 level 43-44 elite mobs. Good luck :)

rather easy tbh. stay on mount. ride into centre of eggs staying away from the patroling guards. wait to check they dont get close enough to see you. then dismount destroy 4, remount and run away. simple

I struggled with this quest because I had no idea for what I was looking. Here, here is the description:

The eggs are located both north and south of Emberstife's Den (61+ Dragon). It looks like a outcropping of rocks with smoking stacks around it. It is protected by 2x Scalebanes and 2x Firemane Flamecaller. The Den is located at the very bottom of the map, south of Wyrmbog.

The Coordinates: 53,72 and 56, 75

I have just submitted three screenshots: one from a distance, one up close and one with a map overview just because I find imagery says a lot more than all the descriptions here. The places where the eggs are are all surrounded with about 4 level 43/44 mobs. No elite mobs at all.

If you don't have a locations plugin (I would recommend titan panel any day because it has some other nice features also): the places I found are kind of north and east of Onyxia's Lair and are all on the same piece of land (ie don't cross water from Onyxia's Lair). Each place contained 4 eggs (for me, but ofc ymmv).

It was very easy for a level 44 warrior.

I soloed this at 43 and killed all the guard dragons. They are evenly spaced around the nests so at no point did I aggro more than 1 at a time. The followup challenging the boss is another story...

The easiest way to get the 5 eggs is the nest at 48 76, then there is a nest just west of there also on a little island at 48 73. i soloed this as a 42 hunter it is a very easy quest line.

i soloed this quest as a lvl 39 rogue i just snuck up and smashed the eggs and then went east of her lair and smashed one more over

Just solo'd as a lvl 40 MS Warrior, really easy...can just pick off the 4 around it. lvl 40-42's south of mudsprocket

Did on Sub rogue easy at 39, the eggs will be surrounded by 2 scalebanes and a flamekeeper or a scout patrol. There are 4 eggs that will be in a carved out tree trunk, the inside where they are will have smoke. The eggs are brown eggs with spikes coming out. Just wait after you gather them all and more will spawn.

And go 56, 75.

The eggs are located at 53.6,72.6. They are in a sort of crater that has four red-smoking geysers around it. It is located to the left of Onyxia's Gate.

Nah - all eggs are soft when they're initially laid - the shells don't harden up till they're exposed to air, so if anything, those spiked eggs would be like french ticklers coming out.

Eggs are in large tree stomps outside of lair. Circled by 5 or 6 dargonettes. Not too hard.

easy as pie for hunters, the mobs are positioned at 12-3-6-9 o'clock, aproach from open end to tree trunk, pull that mob away and kill with pet and arrows, approach opening and set freeze trap, sick pet on closest mob, run in destroy all 4 eggs, rinse/repeat

Lol if you'ra a mage and want to do this it can be done but with some difficulty (this is soloing and without killing any). My method consisted of me running around the tree stump to get their attention (with a mana shield up to save you), then run away a few feet. Then freeze them with Frost Nova and quickly get into the stump and start hacking away at them. Chances are you will only have time to get one killed, two if your lucky. Once you hear the ice break (yes that means there coming back to kill you again =P ) quickly get out the stump and blink away. Be careful not to run into any others and after a short distance they'll give up and run back.

This quest is very easy. I did it with my 42 rogue, didnt die once didnt even drop below half health. Just killed each dragon one by one went into the crater and smashed the eggs then just went to the other nest and did the same.

Solo'd as a 45 warlock. Agrro them all (I used CoEx to do it,) voidwalker sac, howl of terror, and you should have time to destroy two eggs and get away. Repeat as necessary.

The scalebanes have a spell-interrupt move, so I'd recommend against doing a camp guarded by them.

Most, if not all of the dragonkin in the area, are no longer Elite since 2.0. This is the case in alot of areas where some quests mobs for world PvP quests (like those in the Hinterlands) are no longer PvP

Did it as a lvl 41 Shaman, you can walk right up to one of the dragons, attack, and you wont aggro anything else.

I'm a lvl 41 ud-lock easiest quest to solo using the Void as tank(no potions). first nest 56,75 there should be 4 eggs in each nest, Second nest 56,81 some ways behind the 1st nest mob is nicely spread out to pull and solo as needed. Super easy, never died once.

Where are the eggs? In her lair... isn't that a level 60 elite raid instance? Anyway the quest makes it seem we need to go in there and the eggs aren't outside, we checked everywhere. How do you get inside of that lair?

Soloed as a 44 priest. I'd run in, agro all 4 guards, use Psychic scream. If none resisted this gave me enough time to destroy 2 eggs, and I could run out fine. (improved power word shied was key) Only died once, took me about 20 mins.

In classic, the mobs in the area aren't elite and the quest should really not be marked elite. I got lucky, there weren't even any mobs in the area and I was able to pick all 5 eggs from only 2 nests.

Onyxia's brood has been scattered across the Dragonmurk. It is imperative that no more whelps be permitted to hatch.

Make haste to Wyrmbog in the south of Dustwallow Marsh. Surely, she has made her lair there. Track down the evil dragon's eggs and destroy them.

We will never reclaim Stonemaul Village if the surrounding area remains a breeding ground.

As for Mok'Morokk... I have other plans for the sod.
