I think these mobs are unavailable after completing the quests that involve them. wither that or they only spawn at certain times during the day. the reason i say this is i farmed them for quite a while whilst doing the questlines in storm peaks, but upon returning to farm up some more chitin they were nowhere to be seen.

Anyone else finding the same thing?

A suggestion to those who will need chitin for leather working, Do not finish this quest until it has been confirmed as to whether or not these mobs dissapear post quest. These guys definitely are the best farm for chitin that i have seen in lich.

They DO dissapear, i did the quests while leveling, picked up skinning at 80, and then tried to come back to skin these bad boys, and they arn't here.

Ambushers are hidden beneath the ground, at and near the cocoons that Crusaders are kept in. They will pop out to say 'hello' when you are going for the cocoon, so be prepared just in case.

If you have some way to track undead, these will show up as a red dot even before they erupt from the groun. Thus, for those who are hunting down the people in their cocoons, this will give some advance warning of the Ambusher that might be lurking underneath.
