Arrr, matey! Are you ready to set sail in style? Look no further than the Bloodsail Buccaneer's Uniform - a coveted outfit made up of five pieces that can transform your character into a swashbuckling pirate. While the first four pieces became cosmetic with Patch 10.0.5, getting the complete outfit requires a bit of work. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to obtain the full Bloodsail Buccaneer's Uniform and get back on good terms with Booty Bay. So hoist the Jolly Roger and let's get started!
A Pirate's Look
The full Bloodsail Buccaneer's Uniform is made up of five pieces:
Blusa dei Velerosse
Pantaloni dei Velerosse
Fascia dei Velerosse
Stivali dei Velerosse
Cappello dell'Ammiraglio dei Velerosse
The first four only became cosmetic with Patch 10.0.5, and are a reward from the Stranglethorn Vale quest,
L'abito fa il monaco
. The hat is a reward for the quest
Alt, Ammiraglio!
. However, it's not quite as simple as heading to Stranglethorn Vale and picking up these quests.
In order to see the quest for the basic uniform, players need to be at least neutral with the
Bucanieri Velerosse
faction, and hated with the
Baia del Bottino
faction. For the hat, players still need to be hated with Booty Bay, but friendly with the Buccaneers. Becoming the pirates' friend is not only a bit of a grind, it will anger the Goblin towns of Everlook, Gadgetzan, and Ratchett as well as Booty Bay. Thankfully, there is an easy way to at least get neutral with those towns again.
Getting on Good Terms with the Bloodsail Buccaneers
The traditional way to gain reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers is to attack Booty Bay and farm Booty Bay Bruisers - a challenge that can be tricky to do solo, as these endless-spawning guards are elites and can have a tendency to swarm. For the purpose of this article, we tested out the phased method instead:
Complete the short questchain for
"Lupo di Mare" MacKinley
that begins with
Spaventare lo Scosso
.
Pick up
I Bucanieri Velerosse
from
Primo Ufficiale Crazz
and follow the quest train until the attack on Booty Bay begins. This chain involves infiltrating and sabotaging the Bloodsail Buccaneers.
When you are on the quest
Doppiorum
, go into your reputation page in your character info, click on Booty Bay, and tick 'At War'.
Kill Booty Bay residents to gain reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers.
Once you are Neutral with the
Bucanieri Velerosse
,
L'abito fa il monaco
becomes available - and
Contrammiraglio Firallon
will give you your
Uniforme da Bucaniere
.
Alt, Ammiraglio!
, which rewards the
Cappello dell'Ammiraglio dei Velerosse
, becomes available at Friendly.
If you're ever planning to attempt the achievement
Follia estrema
on this character, keep going until you're honored.
The reason why this method is easier is that Booty Bay is phased during this attack - meaning no Booty Bay Bruiser is higher than lvl 35. There are drawbacks to this method - killing bruisers doesn't drop rep anymore, and most residents only grant 5 rep per kill. I ended up adopting a route that targeted
Barone Granbottino
, the two bankers, and
Colapicco
- who all reward 25 rep - though I cleared everyone around them as well. It took me maybe a couple of hours to get from the beginning of the questline to neutral with the Buccaneers, and a single evening to get all the way to honored.
Of course, by the time the Buccaneer quests become available, Booty Bay will hate you - making it impossible to continue the questline and unphase the area. This means that in order to pick up the quests
L'abito fa il monaco
and
Alt, Ammiraglio!
, you need to find
Contrammiraglio Firallon
in Booty Bay - he's on the ship near the island with the big statue, at around /way #210 35.7, 66.7.
Making it up to Booty Bay
Getting back into the good - or at least neutral - graces of
Baia del Bottino
,
Lungavista
,
Meccania
, and
Porto Paranco
requires a certain amount of
work
gold
cloth. Each faction has an NPC that rewards reputation in exchange for low-level cloth and crafting ingredients.
Traditore dei Velerosse
at /way #210 48.6 63.2; 40x
Tessuto di Seta
and 4x
Tintura Rossa
- 500 rep with Booty Bay, 250 with everyone else.
Mupsi Linolercio
at /way #10 65.8 72.0; 40x
Tessuto di Lino
and 4x
Ampolla di Cristallo
- 500 rep with Ratchet, 250 with everyone else.
Rumsen Nitrolima
at /way #71 51.0 27.8; 40x
Tessuto di Telamagica
and 4x
Flussante Forte
- 500 rep with Gadgetzan, 250 with everyone else.
Bronn Trinciachiave
at //way #83 58.0 52.2; 40x
Tessuto di Telarunica
and 4x
Carbone
- 500 rep with Everlook, 250 with everyone else.
Each turn-in will also cost you 500 reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, but once you've achieved honored with them once there's no other reason to care.
Each quest is only available until you are neutral with the related town - so you will have to visit all four NPCs. You only need to turn in half the materials every time - so your totals should be:
First rep: 3660 cloth and 336 other mat
Second rep: 1680 cloth and 168 other mat
Third rep: 800 cloth and 80 other mat
Forth rep: 440 cloth and 44 other mat
This should take you back up to neutral, allowing you to visit these towns without upsetting anyone and dephase Booty Bay by continuing the quest line. After
Fine dei Velerosse
, the pirate attack stops and Booty Bay won't be on fire anymore, you'll have your pirate outfit and all the rampaging you took part in will have been forgotten.
