These eggs are found in the hills of Feralas around and 53, 74 and 56, 75. You can turn one in at the Egg-O-Matic machine in Gadgetzan for around 4000 experience. You recieve a package containing an egg, which you should give to the gnome standing next to the machine. Horde can do this much, while I think Alliance can do more with the eggs for a quest from Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil.

There are 4 nests. The highest one up the mountain ridge is at (58,77) or for those without coordinates, behind the ruins if Isildien, almost directly in the center of the ridge at the bottom of your map. Warning: You will have to battle some Frayfeathers (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/search=frayfeather). As a 48 druid they still aggro'd because there are so many and it's almost impossible to walk around their aggro radius unless you are stealthed/prowling. They respawn very quickly but you can only loot one egg, no matter how many you take from the nests you only get one, it's a *unique* and sadly you only get the XP for the first turn in, after that it's only egg rewards. I suggest only doing it the one time while you're in the area questing, I got an extraordinary egg my first time, and after that just regular things came out not worth the effort of going.

They bind on pickup and can be turned into The Super Egg-O-Matic macine in Gadgetzan at coordinates (52, 27) (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=2741) which rewards an egg crate (and nice xp for your first turn in).

The Egg Crate (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=8647) contains one of 4 eggs:

i actually found 6 egg places, 2 places with 1 egg and 1 with 4 eggs near eachother

i found the 4 at : 58,76

solo'd as a level 45 paladin Gives 6050 XP at level 45 for a fine egg..... I dont know what the extraordinary egg gives....

after u loot the egg from the nest it is on a 15 min respwn. i looted it, astral recalled to gadz and turned it in, then when i came back and my astral recal had ~20 secs left till i could use it the egg repopped

as of patch 2.4.2 u get 6050xp, it doesnt matter what egg you turn in (bad, fine, etc) u get 6050

This quest is repeatable, and therefore does NOT count towards Loremaster of Kalimdor.

I can safely say I never did this quest before today, and neither the Hippogyph Egg, nor the Ordinary Egg that I turned in right after counted towards my Loremaster Achievement.

I am all but convinced that this achievement is bugged for characters that have had realm transfers.

I got my first egg in Feralas at 58.4/76.4 & also noted you could find them scattered along the craggy cliff walls near the ogres Ruins. I also noted specifically at 56.6/75.9. They are up high, above the grassy area that's chock full of hippogryphs that are all in the 43-45 level range. I also came upon the rare spawn hippogryph that's a level 48 (not an elite, just rare.)

Like said above, I just turned in this quest for the first time and it did count towards Loremaster. The questionmark turned blue as a repeatable quest. Any problems with it should be reported right away.

At level 80 (Horde) I received 250 reputation with Thunderbluff for turning in the Hippogryph Egg. I got an Ordinary Egg in the crate and turned that in for 75 reputation.

Bring those eggs to gadgetzan, there is a gnome that talks about eggs, beside him is a machine, place the egg in, get it in return with another able and give to the gnome for xp and reward, reward scaling on how good the egg is.

There are multiple eggs, in the nests in the hills south of the ogre compound/ruins.
Not sure the respawn timer, but i've never went there when at least one egg wasn't up.
You can only carry one at a time.

The amount of xp and the rewards you get for this quest depends on what type of egg you return :

Bad egg
100-500xp
Box of supplies - drink/food stuffs.

Ordinary egg
500-1000xp
Box of potions - random selection of potions.

Fine egg
1000-3000xp
Box of spells - buff scrolls

Extraordinary egg
3000xp-5000xp
Green item around lvl 40-50

Note: xp's are only rough guestimates from what I can remember.

I tend to call past and pick on up if I am in the area.

Just did this quest today, managed to get an extraordinary egg luckily.

At level 50 I got:

4200 xp + 1050 xp for doing the egg-o-matic portion first.

Reward was:

Box of Goodies and inside was about 10s and an Aquamarine.

Grabbed an egg in the first spot mentioned.

In case it wasn't stated before, you can only grab one at a time. My half dozen egg hunt dream was short lived.

You're looking for an egg in a nest, its south of the yeti's and in the corners usually behind the hude tree's. Horde CAN get the eggs, which leads to a series of other real...lame "quests" that involves getting various different type of eggs. But heres what it looks like

just did this , picked up the egg , looked up what its for , ran to gadgetzen & used the machine & got an egg crate with an "ordinary egg" , gave it to the gnome next to me & got a pumpkin , some moonberry juice & a superior healing potion as my rewards , plus a tiny bit of thunderbluff rep.

I have heard rumors that the quality of the egg you return depends on how long it takes you to get to Gadgetzan and tun it in. Not sure if this has any truth to it, but a good idea would be to set your hearth to Gadgetzan and hearth as soon as you get an egg.

Another few suggestions, because some of these last ones were rather vague...
A: Once you discover the hippogryph area, if you go on the map you will find a lake in the southwest corner of the area. Here, if you look upon the ledges and near the trees of the lake, you can find a few.
B:Go east from the lake mentioned in A, following the wall but not exactly hugging it. Eventually you will come to what looks like the behind of the Ruins of Isildien. Look south of the ruins and you will see a pathway/more ledges. Go up these ledges, and there will be around 4 eggs. Also, you can go to the west of this place, this time hug/jump along the wall, and you'll come across another 5 eggs when you look around the pathways/behind the trees. I hope that helped!

Horde can indeed do this quest also. I picked up the egg while and took a very long route back via Desolcae and still managed to pull an Extraordinary Egg out. Received 260 rep for Thunderbluff and 2500xp as a level 54.

There is no respawn times anymore, the eggs seem to more or less insta respaen

Quick commentary on the "Unable to pick up egg" or "Unable to use machine"... I had to do a First part to this, before being able to use the Machine... Then again, I'm Alliance, and have been hearing this from Horde's, SO! If you can't kill her by right clicking and talking to her, see if she has a pretty little quest for you. (It never had an ! above her for me, twas a "hidden" quest)

just a quick note, once you put the egg in the egg-o-matic, you get a "Egg Crate" back, then you have to actually open that to get the extraordinary/fine/ordinary/bad egg and give it to Curgle Cranklehop to the left of the machine. First time I did this, I got so confused bc there was no actual egg. I thought the thing ate it >_< Extraoridnary on the first try, nice XP, and repeatable!

Horde, level 49. 6050 xp + 250 TB rep for the first egg hand-in. Got an ordinary egg, for which the reward was a 10 TB rep and a box of rations containing a pumpkin, 3 moonberry juice and a superior healing pot.

One minor bug - whilst you can't carry more than one egg at a time, you can pick more than one up. You'll get no error message, and the gg in the nest will disappear, but afterwards you'll still only have one in inventory.

You can loot these eggs from nests in the hills behind the Hippogryph but unfortunatly you will recive no pet. At level 44 I gained 4200xp and my Darnassus rep increased by 100. Once you have compleated the quest you get a random egg which you can hand into Curgle Cranklehop.

You will get one of the following eggs;

An extraordinary Egg
A Fine Egg
An Ordinary Egg
A Bad Egg

I recived an Ordinary egg and handed it in which got me a supply creat containing some Moonberry Juice, three Moon Harvest Pumpkin and a reputation increase with Darnassus of 10 points.

This quest is delivered in tanaris and gives rep to either Gadgetzan or Darnassus, not sure.
No playful companion at least

co-ords 53,74 feralas for the only nest i found
was going to do this 2-3 times but the egg seems to have a 30 minute respawn at least (couldn't be asked to stay and see how long) so don't be surprised if u reach the nest to find no egg - save the quest and go back later.

1'st time i did it once i used the egg in the machine at gadjetzan i recieved:
6,050 exp
250 thunder bluff rep
egg crate

opened crate to find An Ordinary Egg

handed in the egg and recieved:
rations pack containing 1x moon harvest pumpkin + 3x moon berry juice
10 thunderbluff rep
NO EXP GIVEN FOR HANDING IN THE EGG, ONLY FOR USING THE OIGINAL EGG WITH THE MACHINE!

There is a nest in Feralas at 55.96, 76.04

Slightly SE of small lake in lower Feralas. Up a hillside, hidden by trees.

Found mine just up the hill by a small lake at the Ruins of Isildien. You have to climb up and avoid the flying things at lvl 45.

For those who came here seeking what I was:

You can loot these eggs without collecting a quest or initializing anything in Tanaris.

As others have said the eggs are unique so you can only have one, you can click to loot a 2nd egg but you will get nothing and waste the egg spawn.

It also has no "timer" so you can take your time bringing it to Tanaris.

I found on of the eggs in Frayfeather Highlands, south of Ruins of Isildien. You will encounter a lot of Frayfeather hippogryphs.
The coordinates are 53,74 (FERALAS)
