Christmas is coming early for tanks.

A great trinket overall, but the proc is once again very mediocre. However, taking in mind that most procs off the Cataclysm tanking trinkets will not prevent your death but only delay it, this proc is the best out there.

Contrary to stat procs which are still affected by DR and chance. Instead of increasing a random stat, this trinket reduces the loss of valuable HP. Assuming one is at roughly 60K HP once dropping below 35%, this trinket should let you take another blow. Rather than giving a chance to take another blow.

This could be a good PvP trinket. Passive mastery which is good for any class/spec, and a bubble for when you are getting low on health. I want to get myself one of these.

Edit:

The absorb shield only procs on melee damage taken, so it wouldn't help against casters (or a hunter whose pet isn't on you for some reason).

Doesn't seem great for PvP, overall.

Wow, just noticed that it says: "Melee attacks which reduce you below 35%"
Now I'm wondering if it specifically said melee when I made that comment...
Anyways, it is not good for PvP by the looks of that text.

Question: Does this protective shield absorb 8350 damage from each attack for 30 seconds or a total of 8350 damage?

This proc is a joke.. an 8350 bubble from a 391 tank trinket? Come on, the 264 Corroded Skeleton Key from Wrath absorbed 6400 damage. I seriously hope Blizzard gives the bubble a little buff, because lets face it 8350 damage absorbed every 2 minutes, that is basically 70 HPS, if I wanted 70 extra heals per second, I'd find some way to glitch in a level 30 healer in my raid.

Seems your ... "wish" has been granted.
Buffed to a 20k bubble every 1min which make this a somewhat decent trinket. Nothing exceptional ( like baradin's mirror) but definitively in the realm of the useable.

So after 17 weeks of killing beth heroic and never seeing this drop i turned up late to our weekly kill logged on TS and heard them in the middle of killing her....2 minutes later i went hulk mode@my keyboard to find it dropped and and a dps got it for OS :(
