It is only a blue non-heroic level 82 weapon... yet it blows away the greatest caster DPS sword in WOTLK Sputasangue, Lama dell'Agonia di Kel'Thuzad

While the Bloodsurge may have a socket, you will be hard pressed to find a gem even in Cataclysm that can out shine the +91 intellect. The additional 98 spell power also makes the Bloodsurges socket bonus of +5 spell power irrelevant.

Usually it was said that sockets gave longevity to BC items over many WOTLK items, but I don't think that is really the case this time (especially for this particular weapon), as any missing stats you need to cap on (such as hit rating) will be taken care of with reforging the rest of your gear which wasn't possible before.

This damned sword would NOT give a pretty Deathfrost glow after having switched over to a bank alt and wasting the copper to mail the stupid primals to my main.

How am I supposed to look good in Tol Barad with a grey sword?

Looking at this sword, "Delicate" isn't exactly a word that comes to mind :)
