Just got this on my server I am now assistant proffesor Nefram :) good luck to you all in getting your title!
you can use upto 3 highborne scrolls to get this makes it go a lot faster instead of running around collecting all 100 fragments.

This really does only bring down a green beam of light on your location. It's a rather large cone of light. Much larger than Elder's Moonstone, a pale shade of green, and a few maple leaves can be seen falling in the light as well. It only lasts a few seconds (7-8 perhaps?). Not really long enough for a raid marker. No buff added either. Also, the light moves with you if you run around.

Spoke to a GM, he told me "rares do not always give a skillup" and that such was working as intended.

12/23/10 Edit: Now I'm hearing from my guildies that this and other rares award +10 to +15 skill! So now I get to say "When I was your age we had to gather 150 fragments and didn't get ANY skillups!" I guess it pays to slack...

This has been stated before that it summons a beam of green light around you, but others didn't state that it lasts 10 seconds. What I did was macro it together with my hearthstone for a neat little side effect for going home. You could also macro it with teleport spells as well, if you wish.

As for other uses, I'm not sure. My archaeologist is not a Rogue, but if it does not break stealth when used, it could be useful in setting up a small distraction to allow your other stealthed team mates to get around heavily guarded areas a bit easier. If that were the case, it's a shame the cooldown is so long on it.

Edit: It's also worth noting that I got +5 skill points for creating it. Archaeology's recipes do not have a 100% guaranteed skill up though it seems, as I've had two items not increase my skill level.

This summons a MASSIVE beam of Green / White light and you are surrounded by leaves. Also you should note the beam follows you for about 10 seconds as you move.

This yells and begins to cast my AoE heal. Everybody in busy situations can see where I am and its really handy in Tol Barad and Alterac Valley.

Cast it and switch to druid flight form and it follows you as you fly for a nice effect. Same for flying mount.

Also if used in water the Naga swim animation is cool.

The effect of this item, the green beam, is somewhat disappointing if you are a shadowpriest in shadowform. Barely noticeable, so if you want to use it, shift out of shadowform.

used this item immediately after crafting it and thought that'd be pretty neat for guild 1st kill screenshots. Tried to show a guildie the effect when we zoned into an instance together "can only be used outdoors". The limitations on these things are really starting to bug me.

I wish I had jotted down the name it, but I got a buff that (at level 85) increased my spell power by 6% and increased mana by 2161. I noticed the buff after the first time I used it, but as it then had a 56min. timer, I am convinced I got the 1hr. buff upon discovery of the item.

It's a darn shame it's not something that at least happens occasionally on use.

In case I'm out of my gourd, does anyone know of a buff someone might have cast on me with that effect and I just didn't notice? I haven't seen the buff since, so I don't believe it was a player buff.

Best used in conjunction with your Fossilized Raptor. The green beam from the heavens above is difficult to miss, and popping this trinket prior to mounting the aforementioned mount will make you quite visible to everyone in the vicinity. Enjoy. :)

ive actually had this as a red beam before it was when i was in combat if that makes a difference...maybe a health indicator? green=high, yellow=medium, red=low? just a guess :p

I found a fun trick you can do involving this Statue Set and a flying mount!

1. Use the Statue Set while standing still.
2. Quickly cast your flying mount.
3. Get in the air, then press the Insert or Delete key while moving forward until you're upside down.
4. You now have a U.F.O. tractor beam! :D

I've spooked a few people in Org while doing this. They thought there was an alien invasion or something! XD

It doesn't say it on the tooltip, but it only lasts for 10 seconds. You can only cast it when you are outside and not mounted.

I was in ruins of eldrarath and i completed a night elf artifact (chest of tiny glass animals), and bam at 430 arch this got unlocked. Maybe its just a coincedence but it happened after another toy set, maybe maybe not :P Happy hunting!

Created Inlaid Ivory Comb and went from 115 to 120 skill. This showed up next. This would be my third N.E. solved item, after Scandalous Silk Nightgown. Three dwarf items solved, 5 fossil (also have hatchling to solve), 4 Troll.

The other two keystone slots that the item takes to help you solve it are very faintly visible.

This is the same effect that happens when you are doing the worgen starter area quest . You click on three wells to be given the racial that allows you to change back and forth from human to worgen. Each time, you have this effect cast upon you.

Not to make this a thottbot-esque comment, But you can get this solve from your first point in Archeology. Or well at least by 7, since thats where I got it, but I assume it's the same.
RNG is RNG, though, so you're results may vary.

Finally completed this rare artifact and did too much reading at it says in the Completed Artifacts Section:
"The priest is apparently male and the druid female, which must carry some significance" and this must lead to the fact that back in previous times it was said that male Night Elves could not be Priests and females could not be Druids. Obviously stating that these was one of the first people to be portrayed in the opposite classes for their gender.

I think I analyzed that item a little too much o_o

Whoever said that it requires 150 skill points to find this is completely wrong. I just started my Arch, and i was able to find it at only 12 skill points. it was my very first Night elf. I am surprised.
