Confirmed credit toward https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/achievement=5467. I just went to the vendor for the mats in Dragonmaw port, put on my Chef's Hat, and began grinding out tea. As a side note, It seems to have good ah resale value currently.

@XICryptoIX: each "tropical sunfruit" and "fresh water" make 1 Iced Tea. Saves bag space when spamming for the achieve.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is a much worse deal than the regular, vendor-sold level 85 water. Highland Spring Water costs 4 gold 40 silver for a stack of 20, whereas the materials to create 20 South Island Iced Tea cost 8 gold 64 silver. And that's even at their cheapest: Other vendors sell those mats for more, meaning a stack could cost up to 10 gold 40 silver. I'm not sure why this recipe even exists, given that it costs nearly twice as much as something that any non-cook can buy in all capital cities. Aside from the aforementioned guild achievement, that is.

Assuming max reputation with the appropriate vendors, these cost 43s20c each to make. Thus, it would cost 2,160 gold to get the five thousand cooking recipes achievement.

I fail to see the worth of this. It costs more than the Highland Spring Water, which work better than this. I guess to get the "set the oven to cataclsymic"?

Still counting towards the guild achievement as of today. Cheap way to get the new feast (until Blizzard fixes it).

Apparently changed in 4.06. While it still needs the sunfruit, it now requires Refreshing Spring Water instead of Fresh Water. This makes doing it in place much more annoying, as Innkeeper Francis (Alliance side - Horde side not checked) does not sell that kind of water.

As of patch 4.0.6a this no longer applies to the guild achivements.

•The South Island Iced Tea recipe no longer awards credit toward the Set the Oven to "Cataclysmic" or Time To Open A Restaurant guild achievements.

This stuff saves a lot of pack space, time, and a little cash. If you keep 2-3 stacks of the Tropical Sunfruit and Refreshing Spring water in your pack at all times, you'll never have to worry about running out of water and it won't take up dozens of slots in your pack. Make it when you need it!

Plus, the Sunfruit is 5 for 1.28G and the Refreshing Spring Water is 5 for 28C (? Not sure on that exact price). 1 Sunfruit + 1 Water = 5 Tea. So you're spending about 5S per drink as opposed to 25S per drink were you to buy a comparable drink from a vendor.

AND, it has the added bonus of making you tipsy, which actually posts itself it chat. ( feels a little tipsy from the South Island Iced Tea) Some people realize that this means you're drinking for mana and may actually, you know, stop advancing forward.

I found this water COMPLETELY by chance and so far it proven to be very cheap compared to any other water out there avaliable for levels 85.As stated above,it is avaliable to characters 85-which means that it makes the normal waters obsolete and unworthy.However,for those people who do not have 70000g to walk around and buy what they please,the cheapest way to farm water,which I have discovered is by no doubt the Deadmines bunnies run-they are two, and each drops 30-37 waters.I dare call it "weekly water run" when it is the daily heroic.Heh.
