I was stumped for a while after getting this, as it wouldn't give me the quest it promised.

After logging out and back in it started working, and opened up one of the most epic quests ever. Laser sharks ftw!

How do you get this item to drop? I have had 0 success getting it to drop after killing about 100 crazed diggers.

I am almost one hundred percent sure this is a resident evil reference, it is a mix with the white queen(the q giver you turn in at) and as mentioned ada wong.

Also it is about stopping gnomes, who was researcher(looking for titan secret to use) who somehow got infected with something. The q line you get from the A.I.D.A central AI, is also about stopping it from spreading and getting control of the situation.

So I would say this is a resident evil reference.

I was on my 82 Shammy cruising Uldum for ore, when I mined this from an Elementium node. It will not give me a quest. I am apparently too low in level.

I've been unsuccessful with getting this item to drop. I've farmed both the crazed diggers and the Expedition Members and so far nothing. I'm sitting at 104/108 Uldum quests currently and it's beginning to irritate me :P I've zoned into Uldum now for the past 4 days and farmed on these mobs and nothing :( Someone please tell me exactly what I'm doing wrong?

I believe this is a reference to Aida:
1) It's about Egypt!
2) One of the rewards for the final quest is Tomb-Curse Chestplate, a reference to the final scene of the musical.

I was farming the A.I.D.A. item and couldn't find any for 2 days. And I didn't know if I did something wrong or not.

Then I passed A.I.D.A. Terminal and the quests was there, just available for me to get.

you do not need to start any quest at all to get this item and you can be at lvl 80 and get it.
i was doing archaeology on my 80 twink and i had to kill one Cursed Surveyor and he dropped it instantly, i tried to start the quest but it wouldn't let me because i need to be 83. so i just threw it away and the next time i killed the same npc i got the drop also, i think it's a 100% drop chance as long as you don't already have it in your inv or bank and didn't already start the quest.

I also got it from a cursed surveyor who interupted my lvl 80 pally mining an elementium node in Uldum. I'l probably hang onto it until he reaches the right level and is actually invited to the zone.

found it by mistake i was minneing and a Cursed Surveyor atk me killed and he droped location : 70-64 Uldum near arida terminal.
i saw someone mentioned u need to do some quest in uldum before u get this FALSE i just got here did NO quest in this map!

Just for those wondering if you could pick this up and do it on a lvl 1 toon to get a nice xp starting boost (seeing as it has no level requirement on it), I tried looting this on a level 1 alt on another account summoned out by my main and it allowed me to loot it but unfortunately you can't start the quest.
