+25% whitedamage is kind of an EXTREMELY powerful proc considering how white damage is usually accounting for 20-40% of a physical dps's total damage done.

If there is no Strength-version of this (and afaik you cannot reforge white stats?) then this will be very very sought after by all physical dps classes, not only those who can use the Agility, which will cause a ton of #$%^&ing. Would have been better to just give this item neutral stats (crit/haste/mastery or so).

Tried out this trinket, but I'm not that impressed by it's effectiveness.

My melee damage is roughly 20% (+/- 2%~) of my total damage during a standard Cataclysm 25 player fight.

The ICD is 1 minute and the duration is 10 seconds. It procs almost instantly when off ICD.

10 seconds every minute, leaves the buff on 1/6 of the time, so on average, that comes out at 25% / 6 = 4,166~% damage increase on melee attacks.

In short, this seems to be slightly less than a 1% damage increase. Nothing amazing at all about this trinket. Infact, Key to the Endless Chamber seems to do more damage over all.

How can Elitistjerks say The Eye of Rhaj or Tia's grace is better than this? They grant agility for a limited time, the max will only be up for maybe 2 seconds, while this epic is 321 Agility constant, that is far better than those blues.

The thing that is not being taken into account, for this trinket, is that gear has a direct effect on its dps output. As you improve your gear, this trinket’s dps will increase because it’s effect is based directly off of your existing melee damage. As that number increases so does the dps of this trinket. If you are wearing mostly blues, then indeed this trinket will not do as much for you as some other trinkets at this time. However, this trinket will only get better the more gear you get, and eventually it will surpass the dps of any other level 359 epic trinket for high auto attack melee dps! On a side note, above I have noticed a couple references to Elitest Jerks EP value for this trinket; Elitest Jerks does, and cannot, take into account the direct effect that gear, and gear upgrades, has and will have on this trinket. They punched this trinket into a static number program they created and got their value. Because of this, Elitest Jerks EP value is incorrect for this trinket. The EP value for this trinket will change as gear changes.

If you obtain a significant portion of your dps from straight melee auto attacks this is a great trinket for you. Every time you upgrade a piece of gear, or a weapon, you will be increasing the dps output of this trinket and gaining more utility from your upgrades. This trinket is amazing!

I'm and enhancement shaman with a 349 item level. I have a lvl 333 main-hand and a lvl 345 off-hand. Since I have been using this trinket I have been topping charts. Against heroic bosses i've gone up ~600dps and in raids double that. The other trinket i'm using is the and I replaced heroic . This has proved an EXELENT trinket even AT current gear level. So I think calculations are off or not taking everything into account. EP values have proven usless for the last 2 expansions and even some of the guys at EJ hate them so why people still keep refering to them is beyond me.

Edit: This is wrong apparently, EP values take into account SnD. (no source yet though on this 'fact')

I know someone on elitstjerks calculated the EP value for this trinket after the change to 680 damage on weapons to be 1187 for assassination rogues, but his calculation didn't take into affect that fact that we keep SnD up just about 100%. Normally SnD doesn't factor in to item EP value, but it does for this since it directly affects weapon damage.

680/(5*(1.8*.6)) * 3.36 = 423.11 EP for MH dps (5 is from 10 second duration, 50 sec ICD, 1.8*.6 = MH weapon speed reduced by SnD, 3.36 is listed EP value for MH dps)

680/(5*(1.4*.6)) * 1.04 = 168.38 EP for OH dps (1.4*.6 = OH weapon spead reduced by SnD, 1.04 is listed EP value for OH dps)

321 * 2.6= 834.6 EP for Agi (2.6 is listed EP value for agi)

423.11 + 168.38 + 834.6 = 1426.09 EP. This is the second best trinket, including heroics. (Based on listed EP values for top Assassination trinkets on elitistjerks)

Fair enough, didn't know EP for MH and OH dps took SnD already. That said minus my math trying to add SnD to the equation, we have the same equation. x/5 = x * 0.2

My only difference from your math was multiplying the weapons speed by .6 since its reduced by 40%... which is correct.

1.4 attack speed.
40% of 1.4 = 1.4 * 0.4 = .56
1.4 - .56 = .84
1.4 * .6 = .84

Your math says 40% of 1.4 = .4 since 1.4/1.4 = 1 (So if 1.4 'increased' - which is decreasing in this case cause we want to go faster - by 40% it would now be 1)
.4/1.4 = x/100
40 = 1.4x
40/1.4 = x
x = 28.57%

.4 is 28.57% of 1.4, not 40%

Your math is very, very wrong,

That said, where did you see that MH and OH EP take into effect SnD?

If ya'll were wondering if it was a nerf there giving this beast of an enhancement item, yes it is. Which I think is ridiculous, ppl obviously can care less about what it does now.

But with my current gear it is a 800 weapon damage increase (rounded off).

This flat rate of 680 isnt bad, but its the sum of 3k ap but still, I like the scaling stuff.

I havent tested it on the ptr yet, but im pretty sure that increasing weapon dmg aka. increasing the dps of a weapon, will increase the dmg of your spells ei. Lava Lash, Stormstrike and white dmg :)

Did testing on this on live servers on my combat rogue since patch 4.0.6. With changes to trinket, the output now looks like this on my rogue: Main hand/Offhand listed dps is 1502/1314 nothing activated, 2102/1840 with slice and dice up, 2619/3362 with slice and dice + new proc. Additionally, the proc is currently adding to sinister strike and revealing strike damage. Yes the OH dps becomes greater than the MH weapon because it is adding directly to the damage range and I'm using a 1.4 sec delay offhand dagger vs a slow main hand. I can only imagine what this will now do for Assassin rogues...

On a side note, Elitist jerks still isn't getting the value right for this trinket, or their EP values are just irrelevant even with their updated numbers! This trinkets proc will do more dps than the proc for Darkmoon Card Hurricane on combat rogues, and still they rate it bellow that trinket... I have both trinkets and have tested out dps removing one then dps removing the other... DPS with only Darkmoon Card Hurricane (EP value of 1373.48) Carta di Lunacupa: Uragano equipped levels out to be 9500dps and stays at that number over 10 minutes+. DPS with unheeded warning (new EP value of 1235.17) equipped levels out to be 9950dps and stays at that number for 10+ minutes. Combined trinkets dps levels out to be 11300dps for 10+ minutes on my combat rogue. Elitist Jerks theory craft does not check out on this trinket. I hope they figure out a new way to calculate their numbers because at this time on live servers Unheeded Warning is putting out ~5% more dps than Darkmoon Card Hurricane and yet they EP value it as 10% worse than DMC Hurricane... Short version, their EP value is 15% lower than it should be.. That's a significant miscalculation... Based off of live server testing; being 5% better than DMC Hurricane, if EP values were correctly showing what trinket was best, Unheeded Warning would have an EP value of around 1422.15 making it the third best trinket for combat rogues presently in game, and the 2nd best epic level 359 trinket just behind Fluid Death https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=58181.

Feel free to check these results for yourself. My tests were done on a raid boss target dummy from behind, as I have already stated above, on my average gear score 352 combat rogue.

One additional point of interest, prior to this patch I put out 14500 dps on the raid boss Argaloth Sunday night, Argaloth since this patch I am now putting out 16500 dps as of tonight Tuesday 2/8/2011. I have had no change to gear, so I believe this is due to rogue changes as well as changes to this trinket.

It is not reflected in the 4.0.6 patch notes, but I can confirm that the proc did in fact change to +680 weapon damage for 10 sec (chance on hit) on live.

This makes the trinket BiS trinket 2 (behind only Fluid Death) among iLvl 359 trinkets for Feral DPS Druids.

Just tested it on Live Server on my Enhancement Shaman,

it is disappointing as there is a 500 dps drop when I replace Heroric Tia's Grace with it. down from 16k to 15.5k

Iron, how do you do your testing? If you do it on a target dummy, you need to make sure you have full raid buffs and have an agility flask and agility food. Your target also needs to be debuffed with 3 stacks of Sunder Armor and have the 8% additional magic damage taken debuff. That could be why you're getting different results.

EDIT: So apparently the weapon damage given by this trinket scales with all of the stats on your gear except the damage on your actual weapon, making all the math I posted here wrong. For subtlety rogues, whose main attacks are backstab & ambush (367% and 390% weapon damage modifiers respectively) this trinket is definitely better than virtually every obtainable trinket (only Heroic Prestor's, off of Heroic Nefarian, is better). For combat, whose main damage sources are white hits and sinister strike (100% and150% modifiers), this trinket is still pretty good until you get an ilvl 372 main-hand weapon, but Darkmoon Card: Hurricane is better for most gear sets I could come up with.

The thing about this trinket is that it gets comparatively worse as you get better weapons. In 346 weapons it's very good, but by the time you're downing bosses in raids it's not. For a combat rogue in full 359 epics, this trinket is a little better than the Halfus trinket, but worse than Darkmoon Card: Hurricane, Prestor's and Fluid Death. By the time you're in full BiS heroic 372 gear, it's worse than an ilvl 346 blue.

Basically, this is a subtlety rouge trinket only.

EDIT2: Patch 4.2 changed this trinket to proc 2600~ attack power (the tooltip is bugged and says 1926 weapon damage, which is definitely not the case). This puts it in second among all the other ilvl 359 trinkets for sub (only Fluid Death is better) and 3rd for combat (Fluid Death and Darkmoon Card: Hurricane are better). The change was mostly made for PvP since feral druids, who have an 850% weapon damage modifier on their ravage, were destroying people during the proc. I think this was still a really interesting item and I hope Blizz makes more like this in the future.

As of 4.0.6, this is the best trinket available for DPS feral druids - even surpassing iLvl 372 trinkets that drop from heroic raids. Given the relative ease of obtaining it (AH, or trash drops before bosses in Bastion of Twilight), this should be a top priority for kittys gearing up for raiding.

I can def. say when this procs I can get some nasty, nasty hits as Sub- I cranked out a 32k Ambush versus a decently geared Druid (which is fairly high for me at 340 ilvl) and this was the only thing I noticed that could have done it.

just wanted to add some numbers to this thread. if you are a sub spec rogue, as you should have already guessed, this trinket is pretty incredible. backstab crits in my gear are landing for 20.5 - 22k without the proc. With the proc however it goes as high as 27.5-30.5k.

for backstab non crits, the damage im seeing is about 9k without the buff, to 11k with the buff.

yes its got a relatively long cooldown (50 second internal), however likde all internal cooldown trinkets it seems to have a pretty high proc chance when the 50 internal has expired meaning it is very likely to proc very soon after your opener.

needless to say that this trinket is much better for a sub rogue than an enhancement shaman or hunter simply because of the multipliers that apply to the static damage on fast weapons, whereas the same damage on a hunter or shaman would benifit less frequently (slow weapons/shots). That said, no one should raid as a sub rogue (yet). I hear its still amazing for ferals and i wouldnt doubt that either.

Also from a pure numbers point of view, although this trinket is pretty good for backstab it sounds like the darkmoon card (( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=62051#comments )) is unimaginably better for two main reasons:
a) no internal cooldown, proc rate improves with faster weapons
b) static 3750 to 6250 Nature damage proc on melee or ranged attacks, (yes deadly throw and throw, not rupture ticks i think)
rogues: if you are going to make a purchase, dont buy this trinket, buy the darkmoon card: hurricane.

Lost 1k DPS when I replaced Tia's Grace (heroic) with this as an Enhancement Shaman. Don't let the "oh it has agility!" stat trick you. If you're looking for a minor upgrade, look somewhere else.

How is this trinket for SMF Warriors? As far as I know most of the attacks are weapon dmg based, so this trinket, even if it has agility instead of strengh, it could (Imo) be one of the best trinkets for a SMF Warrior. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This IS increasing my Stormstrike and Lava Lash damage by ~%30. i.e. my Stormstrike is 10,652 average (DrDamage) with regular buffs and no totems, 13,742 with the Heedless Carnage buff.

can anyone put the feral druid dps math here.. or simply can anyone answer me is it actualy increases the cat form's base weapon dmg with the same value.. or should we calculate this damage increase with the weapon speed factor.

i mean druid forms only get the dps value of the weapon's as a weapon damage. for example if u have this Picca del Gladiatore Malvagio feral forms will use the base dps as a weapon damage which means 623.3

simply 623.3 plus 680 equalls 1303.3(for 10 sec when trinket procs) or is it gonna modify with attack speed ?

I am not sure about this trinket for Bears. The agi is nice, but the only attacks we would benefit from are Mangle and white attacks. Lacerate, swipe(bear) and thrash are all based off of AP.

One patch later and Blizz 'hotfixes' this. Amazing. Trying Rawr out too for Feral deeps and the program calculates that it's worse than the lot of 346. For example the Tia's Grace, Key of Endless Chamber, Skardyn's Grace. For me this "hotfix" is calculated to a loss of 613 DPS in Rawr.

Calculated with: 10sec, 50sec icd and 2648AP.

It's a loss of about 300 DPS for myself. It is still above the (crappy) Avengers trinket and the iLvl 365 trinket from the Molten Front, but it's now below the DMC: Hurricane, the iLvl 372 T11 Trinkets (Essence & Prestor's Talisman) and of course below The Hungerer and Matrix Restabilizer.

For all Rawr users:
I had to delete the proc of the trinket and add a completely new one (1926 AP, Melee Attack, 10 sec Duration, 50 sec Cooldown, 10% Chance). When I just edited the proc, Rawr showed me a DPS loss of nearly 700 DPS.

Besides AP is the best secondary stat choise according to the stat values Rawr calculates for my kitty:

Agility=3.23
Ap=1.17
HasteRating=1.11
MasteryRating=1.10
CritRating=1.06
ExpertiseRating=0.82
HitRating=0.82

Mr.Robot is still showing this as better than DM:H, and 359 Cyclone.

In fact, it is still showing AP as greater than any other secondary stat.

I had some difficulty on figuring out why shadowcraft and askmrrobot kept saying this was better than rickets for combat rogues but after doing the math myself and running a couple of dungeons it proves to be true. This is better but not by much

On the current PTR Build 4.3.0.14809 the Equip effect has been changed back and now reads as follows:

Equip: Your melee attacks have a chance to increase your attack power by 1926 for 10 sec.

On PTR Build 4.3.0.14732 the Equip effect read as follows:

Equip: Your melee attacks have a chance to increase your mastery rating by 1926 for 10 sec.

I will try to keep this updated as this trinket appears to keep changing with the different PTR builds.
