I'm curious if this trinket is better than Impatience of Youth for DW Frost... I know the haste isn't that great, but I think on-use trinkets should be avoided like the plague when it comes to raiding trinkets especially if the proc rate and ICD of this compensates.

Of course, it all depends on if the ICD is 45 seconds... honestly, any ICD less than 2 minutes makes it better than Impatience of Youth. Even though mastery > haste for DW Frost, str is greater than all stats for DKs. I just don't know why a trinket that is raid tier quality has less strength than a heroic 5-man trinket and also has a 2 minute cooldown.

I don't know about you, but I could care less about the secondary stats at this point and say Heart of Solace > Impatience of Youth for DW Frost (if it sticks to the 45 sec ICD model of Wrath)

When you run sims of this trinket, it doesn't beat Impatience of Youth (Impatience of Youth) for DW Frost.

It pretty much comes down to math in the end, but you can't discredit the increased flexibility in stacking IoY at will with other cooldowns (particularly if it's convenient to use with Pillar of Frost, although the actual benefit will be diminished compared to waiting for the HoS proc).

The fact that mastery trumps haste by a considerable margin for DW Frost is likely the main reason that IoY is better, though.

All Catalcysm trinkets appear to have an approximate 16.67% (1/6) uptime, which is half the current normal of 33.33% (1/3). On top of that, the budget of the proc/use of a trinket appear to be the exact same as the budget of the passive stat – for instance, if a trinket has 200 passive whatever, the proc would equal out to be 200 of a stat (which, when combined with the uptime, means the value would be 1200).

Run the instance every day since I hit 85 and could run heroics. Never seen this trinket drop, even though I have the normal version and a friend of mine has the heroic one. Wth is wrong with the drop chance on this?

for anyone wondering which one is better, right eye of rajh or this?
this is way better than right eye
if you are too lazy to read, right eye has a chance to proc on crits, this one on hits. plus if you are wielding a 2 handed weapon, 5% for pvp and a little extra for pve hit rating shouldnt be that hard to cap since reforging came out.
oh, and also, this has a 20 second buff up time, rajh only has 10 seconds. ill have to say this is currently one of the BiS plate dps trinkets in the game.

last but not least, i, personally prefer this over bloodthirsty chance on dealing damage 912 strength trinket. haste is reforgable, resilience isn't.

this has 20sec uptime but 100sec cooldown, rajh has 10 sec uptime but only 50sec cooldown...

I'm trying to figure out if this is better or License to Slay is better. License to Slay of course has a higher ilvl, but only 38 str per melee swing stacking up to 10 times, if the average of this item is in fact 380 str then it makes no sense to spend 1250 valor points for an epic that adds the same bonus.

This trinket along with Occhio Destro di Rajh is BiS for a Frost DK(Both DW and 2H) pre-raiding.
