Dont get fooled by the low rate of the oozes. Just not everyone who kill the oozes have the quest :) so wowhead gets data for overall people reporting loot ;)

I killed 19 Muddied Water Elemental and completed the quest so about 50% drop rate, not too bad only takes a few mins since they are so bunched up.

Twilight Highlands > Verrall Delta (this is slightly NW of Dragonmaw Port)

Tried farming this in Deepholm, The energized geodes just outside the Temple of Earth had a fairly consistent 1 in 6 droprate. Couldn't get it to drop off any other elementals around the temple and after about 50 kills, gave up and moved on.

My suggestion, don't farm this in Deepholm

Since they drop from Gyreworms and various elementals you need to kill in Deepholm I'd recommend doing this quest with the Deepholm dailies :)

Plus the portal to your major city inside ToE is a huge time saver.

Based on the comments and drop rates I'm going to guess that the goo drops more readily from higher level elementals than lower. So farming Twilight Highlands elementals should yield more goo per elemental than Hyjal elementals.

best place is the delta outside dragonmaw port in twilight highlands. close to 50% drop rate for me and tightly packed mobs.

Today I got the JC daily that asks me to get 10 of those. The drop rate is horrible! I don't know if it's a bug or a cruel joke, it's definitely not anything worth doing for 1 hour. At this drop rate it should be "Bring 1 Elemental Goo".

Maybe I just got lucky as this was my first time in getting this quest but I went and killed the "elementals" at Ascendant's Rise in Hyjal and got my 10 goo in about 15 minutes of farming.

For those that don't wanna travel to the twilight highlands.i found the scalding rock elementals (which now have a 100% drop rate), right where you starts the quests in Hyjal worked well, fast re spawn rate, low hp, and abundance of these mobs make for a quick quest. And you can kill 4 or more at a time using aoe attacks, because they are fighting the NPCs there. took me less than 10 mins.

Also want to add something here about the elementals i Hyjal. I HIGHLY recommand you doing the quest there. The mobs have 30k hp, the respawn quick, and the drop rate seemes to be at around 20-30%.
The quest finally felt like a reasonable daily with these mobs.

I killed 10+ Fungal Behemoth and got 10 pieces of quest items at Crimson Expanse of Deepholm( near 72,42 ). It also dropped by Pulsing Geode which is also at this area. It's very easy to get if you have the quest and skill level. Also I have submitted screenshoots. It just cost me about 10 minutes. If you are lucky, you can get 2 jewelry quests (skill level 475) which could give you 2 trinkets at 346 item level .

100% drop rate from "Fungal Behemoth" in "Crimson Expanse" (69,27 - 76,42), Deepholm. Note that you have to kill 8 of these for daily Therazane quest "Soft Rock" as well. These elementals have 53K HP only, and very easy to kill. Therazane also has a portal to/from Deepholm if you are revered with them.

yep, 100% now from scalding rock elementals at the starting place at Hyjal. Seems like by doing the quest inciting the elements, you also get the portal from SW to open at the Earthspeaker's place on the island.

Not sure if I got lucky but I just got 10 for 10 on killing the pulsing geodes in the Crimson Expanse in Deepholm.

what i usully do, i queue for vortex pinacle, since alot of people on my server does this instance for the mount drop, i queue for it and i get the "goo" on each elemental kill 100% drop chance when you have the quest on elites. try it, it goes GOOper fast.

I lvl'd an alt that is 75 for JC dailies but i cannot find mobs i can down to get the goo. any ideas?

Thanks the rock Elementals did it and with some patience i down them.

Level 81 Magma Giants in Hyjal also have 100% drop rate. Usually about 8 of them up. This is where I usually farm them.

i just go to halls of origination. The fire elementals that split there give all the 10 needed for the quest

As of 4.06, and possibly before, the best way to farm these is via the Therazene dailies.

You have two insta-ports there and back from your capital city.

The same mobs you need to farm for the dailies have a high drop rate for these.

And the Geode Energizzato that are in the same area appear to have a 100% drop rate and are extremely easy to kill (and numerous).

So with this JC daily plus the others you can make a nice pile of gold (plus rep if you need it) all at the same time, and all via instant portals directly to and from where you need to be.

The best place ive found is by taking the portal to Hyjal and killing the fire rock dudes called Scalding Rock Elementals. They have a 100% drop rate each time i do the quest and they are very easy to kill being one of the first quests in Hyjal. Anyone 80+ should find them easy to kill.

If you queue for a heroic, and happen to get Halls of Origination, the fire elementals before Rajh seem to have a 100% drop... these are the ones who "split" every time you kill them.

The Energized Geodes right outside the entrance to the world pillar give the goo at 100% drop rate. They are yellow. The big elemental dudes standing near them do not.

100% drop from Scalding Rock Elemental for the JC dailies, right in front of Nordrasil in Mount Hyjal. Did this on my 76 Frost DK.

Get them while doing the Molten Front dailies, from the mobs like, Charred Vanquisher

Easiest way is to do them during the Molten Front dailies

or

Port to Deepholm, right out the front are Lodestone Elementals. 100% drop rate. Port back to Org.

I usually farm these for my JC daily in Twilight Highlands from . They all sit around a small lake and you can stop
mining real quick and Kill a few of these for your quest.

Setting aside the "easiest ways" to get these, for another suggestion:

If you're like me and are long done with Hyjal dailys and Deepholm dailys, I suggest taking the portal to Uldum and getting your Goos off the Scion of Al'Akir and/or Sweeping Winds. They're just west of Ramkahen, not far from where you're porting in at all. I suggest this because they also drop volatile air, and since they're just as easy to kill and have 100% drop on the goos like every other cata elemental, you're at least using your time possibly getting something else worthwhile at the same time =)

If you still have Hyjal/Deepholm dailys to do though, you won't even have to go out of your way to get this quest done.

If you're doing Molten Front dailies (in Mount Hyjal), there's no reason to go farm these seperately. You'll encounter plenty of elementals during the dailies.

Note that for some reason, not all Elementals drop this. Even inside the Molten Front, Charred Soldier (which looks like a prime example of a fire elemental) will never drop them. Just kill the Vanquishers instead, they do.

I find it at least stupid that I am allowed to learn master jewelcrafting at lvl 75 and I need at least lvl 78 (to access the cata areas) to do this daily...

Confirming: scorming rock elemental in Nordrassli MH- the way to get these. You port in and out, kill 10 elementals, and have 10 goo's- really too easy

The Scalding Rock Elementals at the beginning of Hyjal either no longer drop the goo or the drop rate has been extremely reduced. Farmed them for at least 20 minutes and not a single goo dropped. Had better luck with Charred Invaders, Flame Terrors, and Fiery Instructors near the Grove of Aessina.

AzureRaen must have just had horrible luck, I killed 10 scalding rock elementals and 10 goo's dropped. So I can confirm they do still drop from them.
