Everybody knows this, but what the hell: Claret is an English term for red wine from Bordeau. Vampires do not drink . . . vine. Make the connection.

In the same vein (ah-ha), "claret" is also generally used as slang for blood.

I love this wand. It is a skull from the goofy undead models. By far my favorite wand in the game as far as aesthetics and stats its better than the 232 I was using.

This is the only wand from ICC (10 or 25) with both hit and haste. For those using Brimstone Igniter, this is an excellent upgrade. Plus, it looks awesome and it's one of the few frost-damage wands at this iLvl!

Rawr lists this as Best in Slot outside of Heroic version items for me as a 5t10 Fire Mage with various offpieces. Got this and Lana'thel's Bloody Nail in the same run, and figured the latter would be better for fire spec with the larger crit bonuses (spirit and crit rating), but Rawr puts this Ruby Claret significantly higher for me.

Only ilvl 277 wands and the heroic 264 Wand of Ruby Claret are listed higher for me.
