Curious on this, does this work with master looting option, or does the player who owns the shadowmourne loot it regardless of loot rules?

When this item drops, is it only the player with shadowmourn who gets it, or is it all players in the raid (at the time lk is killed)

Strange... This item has flag 'Party loot', and should be looted by everyone, like badges. Some people said that you will get only one box for whole raid.

Had this drop tonight and the player with Shadowmourne was able to loot it without being master looter.

Rate it down but,you guys have no idea how many guilds get destroyed because of this one single item..(Sealed Chest=The One Ring to rule them all)

i hate the way blizz make such items... unobtainable for all the other classes, but if they got a really good guild, they might get one of the items, i have a really good friend who is doing this and hope to get one of the items, but since they all are so fancy, even the best friend could ninja it. QQ

so GM said it will drop if someone has the quest "The Lich King's last stand" so, if the one who has it, never drops it, then it will always drop, so better complete the quest when cata comes, so the highest amount of boxes drop :)

The person with the quest to kill the Lich King gets this as sort of their "task". This specific item. When the Lich King dies, it apparently does not give you: Lich King Killed 1/1. Instead, turning in this quest will accomplish that goal. The reward for turning this in will give you the actual lootable item.

This is Blizzards method of spreading the wealth, as the legendary item connected with this quest is only available to DK, War, Pally.

So, say i am the wielder of (dunno how to link like>> Shadowmourne, mouseover to see it etc.. sorry! xD)...but anyway, im wielder of Shadowmourne, this drops am i only one able to loot it? or could the R quickly ninja it?

Blizzard should modify this item so it would only give 1 of the 5 rewards either randomly or to be picked by the roll winner ofcourse the chest should drop everytime you kill the lich king with a shadowmourne wielder in the raid.

Personally I think I would have a hard time if I had to give away my quest rewards.

I would probably try to down 25 lich king with a pug so I wouldn't feel the need to share my epic loot.

Anyway I don't think I will ever have to worry about this, because I don't think I can get shadowmourne before cataclysm hits.

I'ld like to clarifiy some information about the sealed / unsealed chest, I have recently completed my Shadowmourne and killed the Lich King in 10 and then again in 25 man.

* Your quest will complete for killing the Lich King when you defeat him on 10 man (I did not risk handing this in, as some people have reported that if you kill him in 25 man you do not get the chest).
* When the chest drops from LK 25, you loot the Lich King and the chest can be looted by you and only you (even with master looter on).
* The chest drops ONCE, upon handing in the chest you will not see the chest drop again, it is also probably worth noting that the rewards cannot be duplicated per Shadowmourne as the items are quest hand in rewards.
* Handing in the chest gives you a junkbox type item which upon opening gives you five items which start quests and RP events for each individual item, the Darion RP event is worth watching on youtube etc, however the rest are simply the character talking to you about their relationship with Arthas.
* All rewards are BOE, you are not forced to give any item to anybody; the only way someone can stop you from using the items is if you never kill the Lich King, apart from that; these items are the Shadowmourne wielder's unless he/she decides otherwise.

If you are being pressured to forfeit an item, then maybe you should consider if those pressuring you are really the people you want to raid with, with my guild I found there was quite a few people eyeing up the items even before we downed Lich King 25, simply so they could be sold in the Auction House. There are few people that would actually use these items, if you decide to give some away, choose and think carefully, after all; you will never be able to obtain these items again unless you are given them, have an alt with Shadowmourne or you buy them from the Auction House.

Was this item removed? We had a warrior do his quest today, and no box dropped. No one saw him loot it. I didn't see that listed in any patch notes.

I can confirm that, as of 12/02/10, this chest still drops from Lich King.

I know i cant use it but i have a paladin who can. If my paladin has it in his bag, but he isn't using it, can the sealed chest still drop and me still get it on my paladin?

So, to clear some things up that my noob mind is having issues with...
To save any confusion, let's say I'm the wielder of Shadowmourne doing the quest and get the chest.

1) Does the sealed chest give all the little goodies, meaning all five of the items that start the quests to give the vanity items? Or do I only get to choose one? Or is it randomly given?

2) If I get the chest, loot it for the item(s), can I get the chest a second time so long as I don't turn in the final quest of the Shadowmourne chain line that allowed me to loot the chest in the first place to allow friends access to the goodies?
For example, say I get the red DK horse the first time, could I loot the chest on another run afterwards and get the item to trade to a friend if I keep the final Shadowmourne quest?
