This robe appears to have the model of the recently removed t8 mage robe (blizzard changed mage t8 chest to a tunic), thus could be a good substitute (aesthetically) for the t8 chest if you absolutely hate how tunic and pants look on you as a mage.

On a side note, this robe has some quite nice stats on it including a high haste rating, making it a decent for many cloth dps, even disc priests may want this robe as well.

In interesting robe, as I could easily see a holy paladin rolling on this along with all the clothies. Perfect itemization, though the blue socket is a bit of a let down. Compared to some of the other plate chest pieces we have been shown so far, this one may even come out on top on a paladin's list.

Good luck though, getting one as a paladin with all the cloth classes rolling for it ;)

Awesome chestpiece for a holy paladin imo.
Slightly better than the Chestplate of the Great Aspects.
Almost equal to the Chestguard of the Fallen God that drops off Yogg-Saron Heroic.

I'm guessing you meant 4/5, in that case warlocks would benefit much more from replacing set gloves with Handwraps of the Vigilant

consider this robe if you are affliction and willing to give up a 5% increased crit chance from sb AND have enough hit.

As of today, this is the best replacement for mage T8 tunic.
So if you don't want your undead mage to look like a level 50, get this.

Robes like these are an example of good itemization, crit/haste instead of hit/spirit. Wish there were more of these items in Ulduar.... owait they all went to the plate/mail items.

This is an easily obtainable chest until you get your T8.5 deeper in Ulduar, and is arguably best in slot for discipline priests as well, seeing as Spirit doesn't weight that well for that spec, and the crit, sp and haste are downright amazing.

Yeah I was lucky enough to get these the other night (disc priest). I am not using the Tier 8.5 chest for my set - going to use this one instead. I absolutely love these robes. I was lucky enough that one of our mages who did beat me in EPGP passed on this for me :) ~ wewt! It was my # 1 chest item on my wish list. Only thing above that is the Staff of Endless Winter >.> W A N T

Sir, yopu have no idea what your talking about. The robe is not better for one class over another. Many of the classes have this listed as a BIS for chest slot. I won this several weeks ago, and it is much better than the T85 Chest for my MAge

I agree with many that as a stand alone piece it is BiS for Disc priests as there is a ton of spirit on the T8.5. However, the set bonus (particularly the 4 piece) for Disc is something to seriously consider as is the fact that you can get the tier robes for emblems rather then DKP. The reality of the situation is that I'm the only one in guild who was willing to spend dkp for it as everyone else preferred the "free" tier chest. I leave it to the individual to make their own decision on this. I will say for those that care about looks that it is one of the best robe models in the game and the only downside is it matches T7.5 and T8.5 shoulders horribly.

As a disc priest, I got this chest piece yesterday by spending a boat load of DKP and was regretting for some time until I read the posts. For a second I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pick this item as then I would be losing about 45-47 mp5, (which I know is not much of a big deal) in comparison to what I would be gaining. It’s sure an overall upgrade for me, minus the loss of MP5.

I need to get + 10 stats and equip it with the best gem available. Should I stack intellect or go with more SP. Currently I am at 2222 SP with 21.5k mana. Any advice, suggestions welcome…

Funnily enough, perfectly itemized for a Holy Paladin. Second best in slot I believe if you ignore the armor value. Good luck getting it though, very nice for clothies too!

EDIT: This was in 3.1.3. No longer true. Still a nice chestpiece but you'd be better off waiting till TotC for a decent chest to spend your GP/DKP on, if you use such systems. Or even wait for a slightly inferior mail/plate drop from Ulduar, if necessary.

I got this robe few weeks back spending my "hard earned DKP" but now since I managed to grab enough emblems...I was thinking of going for Conqueror's Robe of Sanctification. But looking at the stats, the tier piece looks seriously pathetic.

Losing - 82 haste, 8 crit strike, 8 sp
Gaining - 81 spirit (pfft), 2 sockets with a 6 spirit bonus.
This adv/disadvantage in stats makes me believe this is a holy freaking priest item and not a disc.

Since there are some new gems in the market I am going to replace my existing gem with 20 intellect or something else..

I dont understand why blizz doesnt make 3 variants for priests...one each for holy, disc and shadow. As far as I know disc priests and not hungering for spirit like the holy ones do.

So the bottom line is - Robes on Umbral Brute is built for a discipline priest....so all you locks, mages and other wannabe clothies...just back off...;)
Let the disc priests have some love ..finally.
