The drops of any rare-spawn (elite) mobs in Northrend -along with a blue item like rare-mobs should drop when killed.

Inside the package you get gold (15-25g), and perhaps a Crystallized item of some sort (the Northrend versions of Motes)

And just by the way.. this map of Northrend contains pins for all rare-spawns in the whole expansion. Use it, and use it well... ;)

The map isn't wrong, but the map isn't complete, it doesn't shows all the other locations where the rare spawns may spawn.

I looted one which contained 20x Frostweave Cloth. The guy above makes it sound like the package ALWAYS contains 15-25g, a few Frostweave cloths and some Crystallized "motes". That's wrong, it's random between:

15-25 Gold
20x Frostweave Cloth
or 3-5x Crystallized <Any Type>

So don't go around buying a load of these for 20g each (for instance) thinking you'll get rich, since you only get one of the things listed above per package, not all three, and if you get 3x Crystallized Earth (the worst one) you'll be poor quick.

Well that if is you sell the frostweave on AH, i always sell my stacks for 20g99s,95c and i always get them sold after 15-30 min ^^

Yep, it's easy using Wowhead - Just look at the url (address) of them item.

For example this items url is www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=44663

And from that you know that the item number is 44663 :) This is true for all items on Wowhead.

It is also worth noting that there is a chance that the satchel will not contain anything aside gold and frostweave. My satchel dropped off of Old Crytalbark along with Crytalbark's toenail of the Champioin, however the satchel contained only 24g and 20 frostweave cloth. I did not receive any motes or additional items.

Out of the bag i got, 24g 68s 47c

Just got this off of Terror Spinner in Zul'Drak (72.2, 29.0). He was very easy to down as an 80 Hunter and looks pretty neat if he would be tameable (not sure). Figured I would get some decent green armor to auction but it turned out to be this bag and Calcified Web Spaulders of the Marksman, which auction for roughly 100g. My bag also had roughly 20g, 20 frostweave cloth and 5 crystallized shadow. I frequent the area where I found him and will keep my eye out from now on. I wonder if these bags drop anything other than money, cloth and crystallized elements...

I can confirm that Frostweave Cloth drops as a stack ( 20 of them ).
Just got it from Scarlet Highlord.

Opened it and got 24g 13s 77c and a stack of Frostweave Cloth.

I keep seeing someone in trade offering to pay 40g for the unlooted satchel, that is, the satchel that still has the gold (and only the gold) in it. Does anyone know a good reason to do this? The only reason I can think of is that the Frostbitten achievements gives out credit for the satchel, but I somehow doubt this is the case...

A while i go i snagged Perobas the Bloodthirster right outside of Fort Wildervar on the south side of the lake where the elementals and nymphs are, thought it might help

Maybe the name is a reference to how long time people spend on farming the Frostbitten achievement.

I just recently killed Grocklar in Grizzly Hills, but he did not drop the bag for me. I was partied with a guild member. Does this affect the drop or did I just get a unlucky roll?

I killed Putridus and the bag didn't drop from him either. Was using a lvl 82 rogue, not sure if that matters!

Nice, I just came out of The Abbey at New Hearthglen in Dragonblight, I was getting a bit overwhelmed with mobs, & an elite showed up, Scarlet Highlord Daion. Anyway he (she?) dropped this which contained 24 Gold 31s 28c & 20 frostweave, as well as Highlord's Padded Legguards

Shame I'm a warlock & cant use it.

71 Crystallized Life
47 Crystallized Shadow
40 Crystallized Air
31 Crystallized Water
29 Crystallized Fire
26 Crystallized Earth

In order to get Abandoned Adventurer's Satchel you need to kill rare spawns in northrend.

Ones you have one or more right click to loot them.

Good for tailoring and the achievement "Got My Mind On My Money" for lower level bank alts.

These are a guaranteed drop from Northrend rares and a great way to farm Tessuto di Telafredda for Approvvigionamenti, since each satchel drops a stack (20). You can get Prime nevi & Morsa del gelo at the same time. :)

To make rare hunting easy get these add-ons.

Found one on a rare spawn mob called "Zul-Drak Sentinel" which was pat-ing on the road just North of The Argent Stand

Mine dropped off of Syreian the Bonecarver(rare mob in Grizzly Hills...just off the Path of Iron) and had approx.25gold and a full stack of Frostweave cloth...she also dropped Syreian's Leggings of the Marksman..sweet!
