Also means all ~~battlegrounds~~ will be more competetive becuase not everyone will be in greens. you're going to see alot better geared people fighting to win so they can give the honor to their alts. great idea, blizzard!

EDIT: I think this is only aquirable in Wintergrasp, so this item isnt really to increase Battleground competetiveness, but rather World PvP.
Other Notable Wintergrasp Items, Quests, and Other Things

All these are taken from Wowhead and im not sure what most of them do aside from what they say. I did not list any placeholders.

To add, Wintergrasp offers mobs that drop Crystallized Elements to the holders of Wintergrasp, not only making it the new Elemental Plataeu, but also increasing the incentive to win.

this is a 2 folded item its great for gearing up your character but gives a slight disadvantage to somebody that's experience geared for PVPas he can get more PVPgear on his alt easily. compare to somebody that's starting to PVP.

From what I've seen at lower levels honor isn't really a problem, its getting all those marks. They should make all PVP marks Bound to Account as well.

I think the heirloom items are a nice idea. Yes the new player with no level 80 will have to play a little harder, but honestly they should. If they haven't seen a raid or how the classes work together, they need to experience that before they should be allowed to speed level an alt.

This can be gotten from Stone Guard Mukar. He is the Wintergrasp Quartermaster that spawns when Horde has Wintergrasp Fortress (I do not know the name of the Alliance NPC).

He sells them for 30 Stone Keeper's Shards.

I'd think not. The other Heirloom items have 'Requires level 1 to 80 (80)' written on them. Since this doesn't have that, I don't reckon it'll scale with level.

Stone Keeper Shards are acquired from Northrend dungeon bosses while your side controls Wintergrasp. In Culling of Stratholme (level 80 instance) I got 3 shards per boss, 12 shards total. I imagne the number of shards per boss is determined by the level of the instance.

Just a quick question,since it doesn`t say it scales with level,i presume it gives 2k honor at lvl 1 to? to be honest it should`have been over 20.000 honor instead,30 marks is quite high,its fast 3 HC runs and so on...40 marks and 20.000 honor would be nice for lvl 80***** atleast

if there isn't...i don't see why blizz bothers and worries about a 75K honor cap, or when they bothered to erase my 1873 honor points i had when i popped 71. their rational in a "blue post" for doing this is so players could not go to 80 and insta-pop PVP gear. or have a unfair headstart.....1873 points....lol! with these it looks like it is possible to to exactly what they claimed they were preventing? what a joke. all you need is one 80 doing PVP to gear all your alts before they ever hit 70-80

Those who have decked-out low-level bank alts can now give them the PvP trinket as well!

Step 1
-Buy 2xWintergrasp Commendation for 60xStone Keeper's Shard = 4,000 Honor

Step 2
-Send the Wintergrasp Commendations to your Bank Alt.

Step 3
-Run your Bank Alt to Stormwind (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde) and head to the Officer's Lounge and talk to the <Officer Accessories Quartermaster>

Step 4
-Purchase your Insignia for 2,805 Honor.

The currency change really sucks. I play a protection paladin and use the pvp shoulder enchant for tanking ( farming rep blows ).

Now what am I supposed to do with all these hundreds of shards, nothing thats what. Kinda disappointed :(

An added bonus for low levels who leech honor in wintergrasp for pvp gear. I have been fighting in wintergrasp on my 60 pally for extra honor and these make the honor gain all the much faster.

With 500 you can barely get 1 pvp item (39k) and you can farm 40k honor much faster than 500 Stone Keeper's Shard -really waste unless you don't need anything else with the Shards!

Think about it, you get 50 shards of the weekly Wintergrasp quests, ~4 from bosses in dungeons (only when you own the keep) so to earn 75k honor (cap) you would need to do spend 1125 shards, -50 from weekly so you must farm 1075 shards by other means like dungeons. That's a lot!

I may be wrong but playing on a realm where Wintergrasp is practically a Horde zone -you really don't get much shards.

That's exactly the point of it. When you've 2-3 lvl80 toons and they dont need anything from honor anymore, you've probably got 1000+ shards accumulated on them as well. As soon as your alt dings 80, you've a very decent headstart already. Makes bg's less of a nightmare,

This item is useful if you want to roll a character on the opposite faction but on the same server since in 3.3 we can send BoA items cross-faction. Just buy 5 of these, send them to your new char and buy 1 epic gem with them. Instant 4x16 slot bags and some spending money. :)

strangely enough, my draenei does a /train emote (with sound and animations) everytime i use one of these :P same goes with all quests that make the same animation, like most quests where you are on a cannon. heard blood elves have this same bug

As of Patch 3.3.3 all Marks of Honor obtained from battlegrounds will be removed from the game. Not only is this a major change to the game, but it will also allow you to get PvP gear purchased only with honor (from these) without entering a single Battleground! (I think, this might be prevented somehow..)

You can now use these to buy pvp gear for your alt without needing marks first. If you have a low level toon, an 80, and like to play Wintergrasp a lot, you can get enough gear to last your alt till he makes lv80, almost. Plus the stats on the BoA gear reallly is pretty decent for leveling.

These are actually quite useful if you want to give an alt of different faction to your main some gold - like the above poster said, use 150 shards to buy 5 of these, then send them over to the character in question. Then, buy an epic gem and sell it. Rinse and repeat as many times as necessary.

U_U a bloody shame, as this was one hell of a way to gear up your low-lvl twinks in pvp gear earlier.

i had a dozen of these saved.. now they arent worth hardly anything. from 2000 honor to 50 honor. i know the the pvp gear price was decreased as well, but they werent decreased in proportion to this nerf.. these commendation badges are near worthless now... i have several alts im levelling and if i knew this was going to happen i would have used the badges pre-patch. im really pissed that blizzard didnt warn about this.. out of all the poorly implemented aspects of pvp that should have been fixed with this patch, they decide to fix the one thing that didnt need fixing..

They were, at least for lvl80 gear. Most of prices are lower than 1/40 of prices before 4.0.1. Only PvP mounts raised in value, most of gear is a bit cheaper now honor-wise. And don't forget that you can buy 264 gear without need for arena rating now.
I'm not sure about low-level pvp gear prices now, but those were actually way cheaper than they should be.

I used one of these Wintergrasp Commendations, on my level 85, just a little bit ago and I received 75 Honor instead of 50.

have around 150 i turned in before they got removed, so i needed a bit of honor on my level 82 druid (for a pvp heirloom for an alt) anyway on 82 druid i got 75 honor aswell and im not in a guild on that alt. even if i was there is a big leap from the 5%-10% guild perk to the 50% honor increase they seem to give.

Noteworthy: A full stack of this little treasures will sell for 4375 Gold at any vendor!

If you still have any of these: Honor is pretty worthless atm. It's so worthless, that you could better vendor these, then use them. 5,3333 commendations = 1 celestial essence OR 93,33g.
Se keep them, until honor is worth something. Maybe when Blizz introduces the cataclysm epic gems somewhere in the future. I have 310 of these treasures. That are 23250 honor points that are waiting to get spend.

Looks like in 4.1 they're getting the "double honor treatment" as well, quite glad I didn't burn my stash already on alts. Even though my main is capped, gold is easy enough to get and these can save countless hours of BGs for new alts needing/wanting pvp gear.

I've been searching around for something that replaces it for 4.2+ but so far, nothing. It looks like these are gone for good, or at least until blizz puts something on the Tol'Barad / honor vendor. If I find anything I'll update here.

With the guildperk Honorable Mention these reward 165 Honor, and placing a Battle Standard of Coordination increases
that to 187.5 Honor (188, 187, 188, 187 etc).

So if you have some leftover marks from WotLK, you can get a little extra honor out of em.
Sucks they haven´t put in any new way to send honor to alts. :(
