Well given that Blizz want to reduce the amount of items that only one class can use, off hand tanking items could allow feral druids to use the same one handed tanking maces (or daggers) as warriors.

That's unlikely, since feral staves have stats that any mainhand + offhand can't even come close to.

The best thing I can see this for would be a 59 twink... but even then, it seems a bit out of place.

EDIT: Since Blizz announced the change from FAP to simply taking into account raw weapon stats, this might be good for a feral druid now. I'm still leery of how a one-hand/offhand combo would stack up to the DPS on a two-hander, though.

Don't forget you can't dodge while casting spells.

One interesting thing about this book, is the dodge 'use' says it costs 3% of base mana to activate.

On further thought, this might be pretty good for hunters. Their OH is just a stat stick anyway, and this gives a bunch of stats which are all useful to them, plus a really nifty trinket-like Use: effect.

Pretty disappointing they add in the near-perfect tanking OH after Blizzard decided to go with the 2h feral weapons... I personally think that 1h feral weapons is the better route to go, for it adds more versatility to the combinations (whereas now its just to get THE best feral weapon, cause at the moment there isn't a plethora of them out there)

With the recent decision by Blizzard to remove FAP from weapons and make Feral Druids scale with weapon damage, this might become a decent Feral tanking item after all!

...Or maybe the downgrade from 2h damage to 1h damage will be too much of a crimp in threat gen. Too early to say.

I have tested it, stacks with evasion.
Got around 20% Dodge with the Off-hand.

Seems that since 3.0.8, all books have no profession restriction (no longer require inscription skill to use them). This wasn't in the patch notes, but it's amazing! They are all Bind on Equip now, and can be used by anyone!

Not a bad choice for feral druids leveling with the heartseeker dagger heirloom item.

That being the only item with FAP and being a one handed these books are the only offhands outside random greens that are worth getting.
