I did the quest in the allotted 20 minutes, and all I got was the bonus gold/rep and this pack with Scruffy Toe Lint. Those damn Argent Crusaders need to be a little less stingy with the good stuff.

Oor, it could be that Blizzard doesn't want to give out the items you COULD get from Dailies...after expansion comes out, these will have regular rep items, or green gear

They might contain junk, but at least they vendor for a nice bit. I got the toe ring, and it sold for 5 gold.

Completion time has nothing to do with your chances of finding the epic... I did the line-up today with 13 minutes to spare, which I assume is nearly a top record seeing as how the quests were the fastest available options, and all I got were green 'of the Whale' boots.

So good luck, may as well stop rushing and just come in under 20 minutes.

it's worthwhile to rush simply to get it done faster and move on to other stuff. the under 20 minutes thing is 100% worthwhile sololy for the chance at the awsome trinket

If you finish under 20 minutes, but try to get the extra reward when your buff is gone, you can't. Sort of sucks. When I first got this daily I didn't know where everything was and what to do, especially for the Apothecary one, and I messed up on it a couple of times. I was able to finish when I had a few seconds left and picked up the extra quest when I finished on time, but my buff ran out before I can click complete quest so I couldn't complete it.

If you're worried about the 20 minute cool down this is what I suggest. Take the Troll Patrol Quest, then proceed to accept all the quests save for the Alchemist quest. You can then Abandon the Troll Patrol Quest (Yes you can, I did just before posting this). Proceed with completing the three tasks but don't hand them in. Take the Troll Patrol quest again, hand in the three quests you've already finished then proceed with the Alchemist's quest. You should not have to worry about a time limit ever again.

As of patch 3.08, the Patroller's Pack has BRAND NEW ICON ART!... but they didn't update the drops, which have a very much "I threw this crap in to make a deadline and never got back to making a real loot table" feel to it.

The complete Troll Patrol daily quest line including all the tasks + the actual daily + Congratulations! = 6 daily quests used.

The 4 task dailies gives you 3g 18s each at level 80.
The Troll Patrol daily gives you 12g 69s at level 80.
The Congratulations! daily gives you 19g 5s at level 80.

(3.18*4)+12.69+19.5 = 44.95

44.95/6 = 7.4916repeated So for doing all 6 dailies you'll receive an average of around 7g 49s per daily.

Now lets include the reward you get from the bag.

If you're lucky and get a Slimming Ankle Bracelet that's an extra 15g 11s 25c, the highest selling item that comes from the Patroller's Pack

44.95+15.1125= 60.0625/6 = 10.010416repeated Thats around 10g 01s average for each daily quest.

All of The Sons of Hodir daily quests give 13g 23s at level 80. Only exception is Thrusting Hodir's Spear which gives 16g 53s

As you can see, you gain more gold from doing normal level 80 dailies compared to the Troll Patrol daily which gives you an increased amount of gold upon finishing under 20 minutes.

It is true though that the Gold gained per minute is much higher doing the Troll Patrol daily under 20 minutes than doing all 6 of The Sons of Hodir daily quests. Personally I can finish Troll Patrol daily in about 10 minutes and I recieve atleast 45g every time. 45g in 10 minutes is quite fast for dailies. It takes me maybe 30 minutes to do all 6 of The Sons of Hodir dailies which net 82g 68s. This gives me about 2g 75g 60c per minute where the Troll Patrol gives me atleast 4g 50s a minute.

Unless you're me of course, and don't care about the gold recieved from the Troll Patrol daily and only want the Deputy Pa'trolla Badge

BTW I'm a resto shaman so that's why it takes me ~30 minutes to do The Sons of Hodir dailies. Plus if I do the dailies during peak hours it'll be much harder to get quest nodes/mobs.

Please correct me if anything is wrong.

EDIT:: I didn't take into consideration the drops/nodes you find while doing The Sons of Hodir daily quests. You can even sell your Relics of Ulduar on the AH. On my server 10 sell for around 30g. Taking all this into consideration the gold gained per minute from The Sons of Hodir dailies could be higher than Troll Patrol.

I don't know if this helps many of you, but I found that the whole Troll Patrol quest set was rather easy to complete quickly on a druid. After a few tries, I was able to complete it in under 10 minutes with no real strategy. Flight form makes picking up the wood faster, and cat form with dash makes getting the ingredients easier. After that, it's all about remembering where everything is.

If you're having difficulty completing the quests in under 20 minutes, try to ponder what skills your character may have that can give you a competitive edge. Having a fast flying mount will help too, but I did it with standard flight speed.

So, lately, I've been making a belated effort to obtain the Pa'Trolla badge, rarely and randomly found in the bonus rewards for making the quest circuit in under 20 minutes.

I have yet to obtain the badge. Wowhead shows the drop rate as only one in a thousand, but I believe this is faulty for a very simple reason: most of the players doing the dailies and opening the bags are the players farming the badge and have yet to obtain it. Once they obtain the badge, they stop doing the daily, whether they got it on the first or tenth or five hundredth try. Therefore, the bags that did NOT reward the badge are over-represented.

But that's not why I find the Zul'Drak daily rewards insulting.

So, the first day I did the daily, I got a green-quality, randomly enchanted weapon. Not so bad - I was able to sell it to a vendor for about fifteen gold, equivalent to a single quest.

The next day, I obtained some Distinctive Feathers. Not so good, but still, was able to vendor them for a few gold.

The day after that, I obtained...a Stylish Toe Ring. Hmm. The ring was clearly...stylish...but I have no real use for a toe ring, as my paladin, uh, doesn't have toes.

It did seem to me the daily was becoming a bit more...disagreeable. Finklestein seemed to be asking me to get obscure items present on only one side of the room, or on the hard-to-reach top shelf, quite a bit more often; I can't quite put it into words but I had an intense feeling that the daily route was becoming more...hostile. Not the mobs, the questgivers and such....they didn't seem as "happy to see me" there, doing my bit for the Argent Crusade.

The day after that I received another Stylish Toe Ring. Hmm....

And the next three days, I received...Scruffy Toe Lint. As if to highlight, "This is what you can never have - the filth between my toes. Don't you wish YOU had toes?"

At this point, it became vividly apparent to me that my paladin was being mocked for her physical characteristics. I found this extraordinarily insulting, as built-in high heels have major sex appeal.

My paladin doesn't deserve to be the object of veiled insults by the very questgivers she is striving to aid. Her persistence should be rewarded, not denigrated by receiving items that are blatantly discriminatory.

I demand action.

Greens do come from the Patroller's Pack. Completed it this evening with six minutes to spare and had Shoveltusk Legguards of the Whale inside. Mail legs, 704 AC, 49 spirit, 75 stamina.
