Situational, but very handy if you/your group is around water for some reason. If you want to shortcut across a lake or ocean (such as Stranglekelp farming) or need to stop and eat/drink (sitting on the water!) while farming water elementals, this spell will save you having to keep stocked on Fish Oil.

Especially handy now that Ghost Wolf doesn't break Water Walking.

~~As an aside, has anybody checked to see if you can be mounted while using Water Walking? I know the DK spell lets you ride on water, but I'm not sure about this one.~~

EDIT: Yes, you can ride on water now, as Keru confirms below me. This has quickly become my favorite glyph EVER. Water Walking WITH reagents was handy, but seldom used because of having to keep stocked on Fish Oil. Without that constraint, it's amazing just how many uses the spell has. No more swimming back to land or to that (barely visible) island just because you goofed and didn't have the reagents. Not only that, but you can afford to buff the people around you.

(On the flip side, that means grouping with a shammie has just become that much more dangerous in places like Mara or UK)

It used to be such a chore to go get extra fish oil for this spell, so this is going to be a popular glyph indeed for me, and anyone I'm grouped with.

Water walking now works while mounted. I will be keeping this minor glyph forever and ever.

Shamans don't have many minor Glyphs that work, there are only three minor glyphs I've seen that work best for a Shaman, and thats Glyph Of Water Breathing, Glyph of Water Walking, and Glyph of Renewed life, I have looked for more minor glyphs, but none seem to help, besides, the best way to earn money is findind those elusive Big Iron Fishing Rod, and the best way to get that is with Water walking and Water breathing.

In the MoP beta, "Glyph of Water Walking" is becoming "Glyph of Totemic Encirclement". It appears that this glyph will place "dummy" totems, making an essential totem a little less of an immediate target. Seems to be intended for PvP use.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed. Regent requirements for Water Walking have been permanently removed.

OLD: Glyph of Water Walking - Your Water Walking spell no longer requires a reagent.

NEW: Glyph of Totemic Encirclement - When you cast a totem spell, you also place unempowered totems for any elements that are not currently active. These totems have 5 health and produce no other effects.

This glyph is great for anyone nostalgic about their little "totem farm".
It could potentially have some use in PvP in an effort to confuse the opposite faction into killing a "dummy" totem instead of the one you just dropped.
