Inside the bag after killing Vesperon before killing Sartharion on normal mode i had 38g and 5 Emblem of Heroism

It's not for a quest, just as any other 'loot' bag you can loot your spoils when you open the bag

Depending on if you do it on 10 man or 25 man you can get emblems of valor from the bag. I am not sure if the amount of gold recieved changes though. I know when we did it on 25 man it had 50g in it approx.

The amount of gold varies; I just won the bag on 10 man and looted 47.5g as well as the five emblems.

5 Emblems is standard, gold varies. Got 43g myself that was not split w/ the raid.

Normal mode version has around 30-40g and 5 emblems of heriosm.

Heroic mode version has around 50-60g and 5 emblems of valor.

After doing 10 man OS I received this item.
It will contain a static 5 emblems every time. (Heroism on 10 man, Valor on 25 man)
Average wealth looted from this is 40g 10s 53c as stated by wowhead, this means that some bags will have more and some will have less money. In my case, the bag contained 48g 15s 56c.
Good luck to anyone out there who has their eye on this satchel.

it should drop gems like mag's, cause omg emblems of heroism and valor is srs bsns. pft, what a joke of a reward. then again most raids are jokes in wotlk except ulduar. actually frozen orbs on 10man and like 1 runed orb on 25m would be better put.

Just killed Sarth because it's a really quick 64 Justice Points for the whole place, but, more to the point:

As of 4.0.1, the Satchel of Spoils (on 10-man) contains 80 Justice Points and 42 gold.

Master looters, be careful with the satchel. Simply opening it will award the justice points to you; there is no badge icon inside the bag to click on. I master looted a guild OS zerg and since folks couldn't zone in with the extra drakes still flying around, I picked up all the loot and handed it out outside the instance. I made the mistake, however, of peaking inside the bag and automatically got the justice points. The GM I spoke to was unable to transfer the JP the person who won the bag.
