This could do very well in arenas, since, at least as a melee class, you are getting hit a lot. 105 extra Resilience and ~2% crit sounds pretty nice a buff.

Not bad for a tank either as it provides ~1.28% crit reduction which lowers the +def you need. Could be a nice option for DK tanks who don't get much else out of +def.

I can't help but feel that it's lacking compared to the other trinkets... though the itemization points do seem to add up. The Greatness cards offer +90 stats and a proc of +300 that has about a 30% uptime -- an average total of +190 stats. Death offers 85 haste and a proc worth about 25dps; Illusion is 100sp and a shield/mana restore ability. So when you consider this trinket offers +105 crit and +105 resilience... yeah, the stat balance is about even. But I can't help but think it would be more attractive with a static +stamina bonus... it's the only one of the new cards that does not offer a static buff in addition to a special effect.

Direct damage spells can proc the Berserker! buff, not just physical damage.
The effect will not proc from damage spells if the full amount of damage is absorbed (i.e. Power Word: Shield)
Your own Shadow Word: Death backlash damage can proc the trinket effect. As with other damage, it cannot proc if the full amount is absorbed by PW:S.

I still need to test if dots proc the buff (initial dot cast/each dot tick/not at all).

The fourth card has 4 different versions, they have the same proc ability but the stat bonus is different:

They're buffing this trinket in patch 3.0.8, making it more desirable. You would be gaining the buff from hitting or getting hit, meaning the buff would be up pretty much at all time. Pretty good imo for pvp.

Be sure to read as a PRIEST

Though this trinkets proc uptime is really high and it's almost always on.
As a Priest this won't be as simple as that, since Power Word: Shield (and probably Divine Aegis too) will not let you stack the buff if you absorb the damage!
This is pretty annoying if you don't want the stack to fade when you cast your shield or if you want the opponent to hit less crits on you when you are shielded, which makes the shields lifetime longer.

EDIT: Conversation with a GM about it.

: This card is functioning as it should, *name*. You only have a chance to gain the effect from the card when you are struck in combat. As effects like Power Word: Shield and Divine Aegis absorb damage you are not technically being struck in combat as the damage is absorbed.

That's what I had in mind when I first saw this trinket... I never realize i'd need this item so bad until I was itemized later...

When you have problem stacking up to 800 resilience and more as a caster, this trinket is the best darkmoon card there is for PvP use

This is totally useless for a PvE though.... it will only proc if you are taking hit (tanks), and tanks don't need crit and don't get crit (so don't need resilience either)

As a DK tank in PvE, 1.28% crit reduction sounds rly nice to me, since I benefit less from Defense rating, then other Tanks that can equip shields do, so this could easily help in getting crit immune and use other items directly for Dodge/Parry.

+ the crit helps in holding aggro.

There are better ones around for tanking, but if you are going to take it for PvP anyway then you it's also a viable option for PvE

Just happened to jump on one of those bonfires in Orgrimmar while waiting for the bg que and the damage received from it activated the trinket.

This could prolly be used somehow. Maybe standin on one of those fires while raiding Org could help some priests or w/e to keep a full stack of the crit effect.

I did some testing with this on the newest build of PTR.

As seen on this picture below, it does indeed proc from melee attacks. Tooltip has been changed accordingly.

I didn't get Recount to record buffs (if it even can), but I did some testing to a target dummy.
I did melee attacks (just plain Auto-attack) with a 3.40 speed weapon. The buff was _ALMOST_ constantly on. Couple of times it wore off. So I think it's safe to say the proc rate is about 50% on melee attacks too.

Also tested if it would proc on Judgement. It DIDN'T. So no spells.

I've been running with this trinket as I'm a Human Paladin. It's great because you'll get 3 stacks very quickly and it'll proc off almost anything.

You know the little braziers in home cities that do 14 fire damage? It'll even proc off those.

50% is about right.

It'll proc off almost any damaging attack including DOTS and Spells.

If you get bursted, then you'll get the 105 resilience quite quickly which is why I like it. And 12 seconds is quite nice also for Arena and general PvP.

So this trinket got nice boost in 3.0.8

Now it procs of your attacks as well as of heals you get, so it actually means you have it on all the time in arena.

Imho, now one of the best Trinkets for arena as 105 resil and 105 crit is quiet good for trinket!

This trinket was buffing aswell druid that played with me in Arena yesterday, so i dont know is it a bug or not, but it does buff all ppl in party seems.

I am a warlock and I have this card. I have noticed several interesting bugs or changes in the last couple days.

The ability now procs from ANY healing. This means if anyone heals you they get the buff. It can maintain full stacks on anyone who is healing you if you have the card. This also means the healing component of Fel Armor procs the effect as well.

Proc Rate rules still apply, but i find that as long as I am below full health I can maintain 3 stacks almost constantly, whether I am in combat or not. This trinket is broken for arena considering that a proper team can have the buff on both players constantly, regardless of whether they are in combat or no. Also warlocks can easily maintain a full stack of the buff with skillful use of life tap.

This must be a bug and will probably be hotfixed, but arena is back up and the card works at the moment!

There is a bug currently(patch 3.0.8) with this trinket.
If YOU get healed this trinket also has a chance to proc on the HEALER. It's not giving the crit bonus, but it does give the resilience.

The Darkmoon faire is on! I did some testing,

The trinket procs:

- when you're healing yourself (not when you heal other players) here is a combat log (jpg) of my shaman spammin lesser healing wave on me.
- when you hit an enemy with spell or physical attacks (even if you're a healer it can be interesting to attack your opponent with your weapon since each time you hit him, you have a chance to get a proc and keep the 3 stacks up): combat log of physical & spell attacks.
- when you get damage from falling (combat log, jpg).
- using the Glyph of Ghost Wolf as a shaman makes the card proc (combat log, jpg).

I just cashed in this morning, and I absolutely love this trinket. Spent all morning running around Strand like a madman, everytime I looked at my buff bar it was three stacked.

I got into a little discussion with a fellow about whether or not the anvil was preferable, but I think I'll take +105 resil and +105 crit (that seems pretty damned much permanent) over that 45 sec ICD on the anvil. Especially if you're melee and you're getting kited around by a hunter or mage and the chances of wasting the anvil proc are high.

I dunno. For my playstyle as a kamakazi retadin, this thing freaking rules. Can't believe I only paid 400G for it.

Not only does this trinket proc off melee & spell damage, but it also procs off heals on yourself, by both you and any other healers!

also i can confirm that it procs off damage that is absorbed with both DA and PW:S, yes, completely absorbed damage procs this trinket...

Not too sure if this was intended, but as of February 6th, this card will allow whoever heals you to gain the buff as well. I found this out after casting Penance on a random player. He was not in my group, and strangely enough, the crit wasn't added in, but the resilience was.

So I guess we'll see how this plays out, whether it's a current bug or "working as intended".

The card is a good all-rounder - even for players using 2-handed weapons. The stack will reach 3 quickly and re-apply very often. As a physical class it's like having 105 resilience and critical strike rating constantly. From a PvP perspective it's no slight trinket considering you get a hefty amount of resilience from it.

This card currently procs from heals cast on you as well apparently. At least hots. I noticed this by some druid randomly throwing a lifebloom on me in Dalaran when I didn't have full HP. During the lifebloom's duration, I got full 3 stacks from this card. This lead me to test it with Enraged Regeneration, and it procced from that as well.

Anyone else notice this?

I had a guildmate of mine toss me 3 of these card-pieces as by-products of his attempts to build a Greatness deck. I decided to finish off the deck, and only ended up spending 190g on the AH purchasing the 5 remaining cards. Talk about a steal! This card is DEFINITELY undervalued currently, so if you're a big pvp'er, pick one up before people realize how good the trinket is and jack the prices up.

Not sure if this will add to its strategic value, but I noticed that a) it can proc off life tap and b) the heals from Fel Armor will proc it. You can easily keep 3 stacks up always as a Warlock. Might be handy when you know you're about to be thrown into a fight.

This procs off Spirit Bond, Lifeblood, HoTs, and anything else that hits your character. Quite good for arena, until you get Darkmoon Card: Greatness of course, as it will be up with full stacks most likely 100% of the time. This makes it superior to Anvil of Titans IMO.

Very nice for a Retribution Paladin. The three stacks are on constantly during combat.

I do believe that it can proc off of Retribution Aura hits and I have had it proc off of heals (Flash of Light and Holy Light).

im only at 343 res so far so i need to get it up ASAP. this is why im thinking about this one although i have to say that my trinket atm is the jc owl. i didnt spec mana tide so its useful to have. i have two dragons eyes in the owl. so if i take this trinket this would free up 2 dragons eyes for other slots, maybe with stam/ res. any input is much appreciated!

I'm suprised no one has posted this yet, but this trinket is also very useful for raids if you're a rogue. This trinket procs so much and so fast that it almost seems that the moment I engage in battle I recieve the 105 crit rating.

Ignore for a second the resilience rating, I'm not saying that the resilience is useful for raiding, but the 105 crit rating is amazing as it has more crit rating than anything found in Naxx.

Some of you might be like "oh, well, I don't think it's better than *insert trinket name here*", but if you compare this to other trinkets, consider that this trinket is pretty much "+105 crit rating", and that is a consistant 105 crit rating bonus throughout the entire boss fight after the first few seconds of combat.

For a hunter the anvil of titans is more desirable because you should be getting hit less as you are trying to stay at range of your target, so if you are kiting well you wont get as many procs. Where as the anvil only procs from your attacks anyway.

Just to clear things up for people curious about this there are many trinkets that are infinitely better for pve, and plenty that are better for pvp.
There is however, no other trinket that will give you 105 resiliance and 105 critical strike rating that you can pick up on the auction house for a few hundred at the most. Due to the fact that the materials to make this deck are essentially failed attempts at getting better cards, people dont tend to sit on them as they would any other boe trinket that gives 105 crit rating. Despite being a chance to proc the full stack is normally up by the 1st 5-8 seconds of combat.
So yeah, a good trinket for pve? Not really, but its better than anything else you can buy on the auction house for (generally) less than a few hundred, and for pvp its pretty good to start with.

I'd rather have a static 100 resilience than 35 x 3 stacking to 105 resilience for 12 seconds. Sure for most of the time that you are fighting you lose a whopping 5 resilience, but for the rest of the time that you had no buff up and someone opened on you with an Aimed Shot or other hard hitting ability I'd much rather have the 100 static resilience as opposed to 0 resilience. I'd consider the change to be a decent buff personally. The crit portion of the card is unchanged.

what all does this proc off of for a priest cuz im having problems keeping it up. I have tryed and the only things i can get it to proc off of are mindblast, PW death, and holy nova have not tryed smite but that probly works but no dots seem to work at this time.
