It will be hard to decide which second major glyph to go for. The first glyph probably of every hunter will be Glyph of Aspect of the Viper to regain mana quicker and go back to AotH sooner. But for the second glyph as a BM hunter it will be hard to decide whether to go for Glyph of Bestial Wrath or Glyph of Steady Shot. Probably a toss-up. But the BW glyph in combination with the BM talent Longevity sounds pretty sweet.

EDIT: If one may have three major glyphs, then obviously take both. ;-)

for the potential 0/51/20 build... you're looking at a huge incentive to use serpent sting.

LnL for arcane procs.
Chimera-serpent for ~25% more chimera shot damage.
this glyph.
Any and all talents that improve shot or sting damage.

Serpent sting is really the glue that holds the build together--damage wise. Slap on serpent sting glyph, and you've got a pretty smart setup.

This doesn't appear to be on trainers as the 'Taught By' tab suggests. Can anyone else confirm?

If it's indeed not on trainers then it's likely to be from the daily northrend research.

Has anyone tested if this buff stacks with the Tier 6 4-piece? I love my Gronnstalker's even at 80, at least until T7 comes my way. I plan to do some testing later, but if someone spares me the effort, I'll be happy.

After reading on different fora that this otherwise great glyph bugs if you got talent points spent into Improved Stings, I had to check for myself. So I picked my trusty Screeching Bow from the bank and abused some testing dummy. After shooting some Steady Shots at the dummy without a sting on it and some more Steady Shots with Serpent Sting on it, I found out all my Steady Shots were doing exactly the same damage with or without sting.

So yes, unfortunately this Glyph isn't working perfectly yet. Since Steady Shot does about 40% of my total damage this bug has a significant impact and I sure hope Blizzard will fix this soon.

This glyph would've been easier to find if it was made with ink extracted from the blood of Jesus and parchment made from the skin of Buddha. I barely found one person on my entire server who can make it.

AIf your not an Markmanship hunter, for example Beast mastery.
I suggest you test this macro i came up with.

for survival hunters just change all the arcane shots in that script to explosive shot.

WoWkevin, the problem with that macro is that it doesn't take haste procs and effects into account, which may temporarily reduce your global cooldown. The best way to weave your shots is to manually activate them. Especially since the 3.0.8 'nerf' to Steady Shot, as you'll be using more shots with a cooldown. To put it simple: cooldowns won't vary, but the amount of GCD's in between them will.

In the rare case of a PVE Marksmanship hunter, this is still a decent glyph because Chimera Shot will refresh Serpent Sting automatically. Since the other two PVE Marksmanship glyphs are Glyphs of Serpent Sting and Chimera Shot, it's really up to the hunter's personal taste whether to take this one or Glyph of Trueshot Aura. My hunter's not quite 80 yet, but I'm curious as to whether glyph of TSA or SShot is the superior one for Marksmanship end-game; it appears Aimed Shot is more damage-per-mana at the cost of being more mana intensive, but you'll still be using Steady Shot and a flat increase in damage usually outdoes an increase in critical strike chance.

I've no idea about BM usefulness, but the Survival uselessness is hard to overstress.

I get the feeling this Glyph would be decent for Marksman builds, since you're going to be having Serpent Sting up all the time in order to maximize your Chimera Shot's damage.

Glyph of Steady Shot has been fixed as of patch 3.3 and it's now working properly with 5/5 Marked for Death.

In 5.0, this is being changed to glyph of Scatter Shot:

Use: Permanently teaches you this glyph.

Your Scatter Shot also removes all damage over time effects from the target.

Changed again, I think in 5.1, to make Aimed Shot castable while moving. The old Glyph of Scatter Shot has been tied in with the Ice Trap glyph to make the new Glyph of Solace.

In Warlords, the recipe for this glyph is being removed. Existing (unlearned) copies of the glyph will become gray and vendor for 50s.

Previous Changes:
OLD: Glyph of Steady Shot - Increases the damage dealt by Steady Shot by 10%.
5.0.4: Glyph of Scattering - Your Scatter Shot also removes all damage over time effects from the target.
5.1: Glyph of Aimed Shot - Your Aimed Shot can now be used while moving.

Note, this is not the same as the old Glyph of Aimed Shot which was changed to Glyph of Aimed Shot in MoP.
