Just like , this item transform your mount into a brewfest kodo or a great brewfest kodo (depending of the speed of your mount). At the moment, it has no effect on a flying mount.

It can be traded for 20*Brewfest Prize Token at the Brewfest merchants Belbi Quikswitch (alliance) and Blix Fixwidget (horde), who are present during the Brewfest.

This is the permanent version of the item, it only disappear after a single use. This buff lasts until you dismount.

if you buy this item , and find out how lame it is. you can get a GM to refund your coins , because there is no "are you sure you want to purchase" screen its VERY easy to get them to refund the coins

it turns your mount into both.. my dwarf had some hops from the alliance vendor and it turned into a kodo... nice fact is that the things your mounts turn into are always armoured so I can finally feel what its like to use an epic ram :D

Just a slight warning :D

I got these today and enjoyed the fact that my mount turned in to a Brewfest Kodo after I summoned it. Then I went to Northrend to get on with my dailies, needed to get the Ghostfish so used the Wormhole Generator to get to Sholazar Basin, it puts you on the side of the Glimmering Pillar, so, summoned my flappy which appeared fine, flew off side of pillar and then 2 secs later flappy became Kodo! Not very good at flying, luckily as an Eng I had my flexweave parachute. Just thought I would throw it in for those who are lucky enough to have a backup!

The level requirement is still 30, so it can't be used on your mount if you're under level 30. Looks like Blizz forgot about this when they lowered the riding level.

EDIT: With patch 3.2.2 the level has been lowered to 20.

This may be a good insurance buy (just one) for those chasing the brewmaster achievement - you can buy it early and bank it. Then if during Brewfest you never get the mount from Coren Direbrew, and you miss the last day of the festival because of, you know, REAL LIFE, then you aren't screwed because you can just pull out the preserved hops from your bank and BAM - hit the last requirement for the Brewmaster achievement.

You probably think why buy the 20 token kodo when you can buy the same transformer for 5g, right ?
Well ti's easy the 20token kodo transformer is permanent, thats why it is still a nice item ^^.

This item actually places a 'buff' effect on you for , I believe it is 1 hr., during which time you can dismount & remount and it will still change your mount to something festive. Hoard get a Kodo and Alliance get a Ram, at least that is what I have seen so far. The item will stay in your possession until used but it is a 1 use item. Use it & it's gone.

When applied it did turn my mount into a Brewfest Ram, but when I dis-mounted, it went back to normal.

Nevermind. I just realized what you meant by permanent. It does stay in you bag until you use it, but it does not permanently turn your mount into a Brewfest Ram.

When you purchase the Preserved Brewfest Hops, they will not disappear after 7 days, like the other hops you can purchase from the vendor. However, when you eat the Preserved Brewfest Hops, they disappear! That's right! They are not permanently in your inventory like a token or trinket (like I thought). They are only permanent in the fact that they can stay forever in your inventory - until consumed.

It also turned my alliance mount into a Brewfest Ram. Perhaps the effect is different for Horde (I'll need to verify), but I didn't get a Brewfest Kodo mount, as another poster listed here.

Now you know! My recommendation is save your 20 Gold Tokens for something better.

There's a bug with this right now on TBCC. It says "you are flying" when trying to use it on a ground mount.
