For DPS purposes, this staff is below the Karazhan Epic Terestian's Stranglestaff.
Which pretty much means that if you're into Black Temple/Sunwell stuff, you won't be replacing it with greens at 71.

This staff is great for a Druid that hits Northrend. The reading on the stats on this item has been changed as of patch 3.0.8 The strength is taken off and + attack power has been added on equip to make this more desirable for other classes as well. Personally I would have rather seen the strength kept on the item.

It now reads this

+83 Stamina
Durability 85 / 85
Increases attack power by 776 in Cat, Bear, Dire Bear, and Moonkin forms only.
Equip: Increases attack power by 72

This replaced my Staff of Natural Fury a bit earlier than I expected.

A lvl 68 green replacing a lvl 70 epic :-/

Only Writhing Longstaff replaced Natural Fury for me, and only for tanking duties when I wasn't leveling, but I did have 35agi on it. If you have Natural Fury, KEEP IT I repeat, do not vendor/DE it. Sounds like I'm too late for some, I hope I will save others some MAJOR heartache. Natural Fury will remain an absolutely fantastic weapon to tie into pvp macros, and it does so despite being at least 100 ilvls lower than 80 epics, making it one of the all-time coolest druid items.

FWIW, if you spend time "versa-druiding," and you have a halfway decent dps weapon from BC, I'd use this quest to grab one of the caster weapons. Writhing longstaff is greatly superior to this, so you will still be obligated to choose it over the caster items from that quest.
