I got this card this morning, went right to the Faire cause it just started.

It doesn't proc on low level creatures. So the target must yield experience on honor. There is no cool effect when it procs (I kinda hoped for some cool glow or so :P).

However, if it procs u can have all buffs at the same time! It's not just 1 buff, but if you kill a target within the 30 sec, you can just get another buff next to it. The buffs itself don't stack but they just refresh if you get the same buff.

I got a confirmation from the WoW forums that the trinket is bugged on warlocks, you can only get the 4 buffs and not the Manic and Dementia buff:

I'm a hunter and I have yet to get Manic or Paranoia. I get the same four buffs over and over, Delusional, Kleptomania, Martyr Complex, and Narcissism. I wonder if you need to get the killing blow with a crit to get Manic? Do you need to be hasted of some sort to get Paranoia? Any hunters get either of those buffs?

A good trinket for pvp, seeing as the huge buff of +51 stamina will keep you alive a lot longer, and the added buff can give you a good boost. Better for fast-hitters or Aoe-ers, so rogues, mages and hunters are probably best.
If combined with Twisting Nether from the old series it can create a potent combo, as the % chance to rez is of great use in pvp scenario's where you'll likely die several times. So you'll die less due to the huge increase of stamina, and get occassional buffs thanks to the effect, and if you do die there's a chance you won't have to wait to be ressurected, only you will need to find a quiet spot to regen for a few seconds. No problem for spell-slining mages though!
Oh, and DO NOT USE IN THE ARENA. Sure +51 stamina is good but the effect will be wasted, so Vengeance is probably better.

Dimentia: "Down the rabbit hole..." Every 5 seconds either gives you +5% or -5% damage/healing.

Can I equip this card with the Vengeance card?? As a DPS warrior and soemtimes tank the combination would be awesome! I'd love to have 2 of the Vengeance cards, but since they are unique (like all of the darkmoon cards) I cannot do this. One of each card should be fine though right?? I just don't want to collect the cards of each deck and only be able to use one or the other. Thanks.

Also, the "Martyr Complex" buff doesn't heal you for 350, just increases Max Hitpoints.

As a feral druid who's had the card a while now I've got some comments I don't see here. I was concerned I'd get the caster buffs as well as the melee ones, so only about 50% of the buffs would be useful to me, but after farming 1k+ kills I only ever got melee ones. This led me to believe it was either parsing my spec and choosing buffs off that, or parsing my kill method.

To test I killed a mob with moonfire and the buff I got was megalomania. A few more killing blows with spells seemed to confirm that the kill method is taken into effect, since all the KBs I dealt with spells gave caster oriented effects.

For this trinket to get its best benefit, I suppose a protection paladin will do the job. If a protadin has already high defense, this trinket, maybe combined with fingurine of colossus, expect to see these 9 madness effects proc when farming 10+ mobs at once!

Being a paladin after hours of testing I only get:
Megalomania: +41 spell damage
Sociopath: +35 strength
Narcissism: +35 intellect
Martyr Complex: +35 stamina

I've never got any other buffs, i.e., +70 AP, rabbit hole, +35 Agi, and +35 Crit. I've tested it with protection-spec's AOE farming style and ret-spec's one-on-one style. One thing to note: if a mob died because of the poison DOT from my Petrified Lichen Guard, it didn't proc.

Personally I like this trinket; with activation of my Khorium Champion, Skyguard Silver Cross, and the +35 str buff, it boosted my AP from 1500 to 2000, which is really nice. If you already have some decent gears, plan to farm many mobs, and be able to end each one < 20 sec, this is a "fun" trinket to play.

The only thing I'm disappointed at is why don't we get all the buffs? Spent 1600G for it, and feel like being cheated somehow...

I plan to get one before WotLK for leveling purposes from 70 to 80. I think 51 stam is a great stat for leveling and the buffs will help, too.

On a side note, I think if you die with the +35 stam buff on (Martyr Complex), that's just hilarious.

And does the +35 stam buff actually grant you 350 hp when it procs or does it just increase your maximum hp?

As an Enhancement Shaman I have gotten the following buffs:

Delusional: +70 attack power

Martyr Complex: +35 stamina

Narcissism: +35 intellect

Paranoia: +35 spell/melee/ranged crit strike rating

So yes, Enhancement Shamans can get the melee buffs from this card. I haven't seen some of the other ones that we apparently can get, so I guess they are pretty rare.

TLDR: The STM is great in general, in PvP or Solo'ing, you can really stack up the buffs. Overall it's a great self-buff trinket.

For sake of PvP in Battlegrounds, this trinket is very useful for burst DPSers that can more assuredly land their Killing Blows. DoT classes/specs can make use of this just as well, but if a target gets too far away and dies, you might not get the buff as sometimes you don't get the hk to begin with... that, or someone lands a quick instant attack or swing that lands the KB right before your DoTs finish 'em... really its just a bit less predictable or consistent in PvP for DoTers...

In the Arena setting, you won't get too many HKs, so the Madness buffs are almost non-existant here.The stamina buff is still useful of course.

In Soloing... this is a GREAT trinket if you are very capable of killing mobs in say, 15 seconds or less. I usually manage to keep 3-4 buffs up until I'm OOM, so that's a pretty substantial buff to my damage. If you'd want to best utilize the trinket, you'd want to try and get buffs from yourself/others, eat food, and maybe even fight mobs that are 8 levels below you, so that you'd best assure that you get to make quick work out of a mob, and keep getting the buffs. (Of course, if you are fighting very low level mobs... this is only cost effective if they have some sort of farmable/vendorable goods on them...)

Now, unless itemization for WoLK green items winds up making buffs like +35 STM, +35 Haste, etc., look like nothing... chances are you also have a damn good leveling trinket in Northrend when the cap is raised to 80.

Oh... and for **** and giggles.... say I have any 3 of the buffs up: +35 Stm, +35 Agi, +35 Int... If I were to compare this to the Superior Socketing Gems:

+35 STM = ~2.92 Solid Star of Elune
+35 Agi = 4.375 Delicate Living Ruby
+35 Int = 4.375 Brilliant Dawnstone

So, even if it's for a short period of say, a 10 second overlap amongst the three, I've got 11.67 Gems worth of Buffs...

Well, more if I take into account that I'm Survivalist, so +15% more Agi and +10% more Health... and yet even more if a Pally was kind enough to give me Kings.

I would really like to know something, each class gets a specific % of a stat with another stat, for example agility will give atk power, dodge rating, atk speed increase slightly (so im told) armor and so on... one thing that i would like to know though is for each stam point, what does a Paladin and Warrior get, so if i got this trinket that +51 stam would give me how much health on a warrior/paladin.

By far one of my favorite trinkets ingame. On my Moonkin, it only gives the following buffs: Martyr Complex, Megalomania, Narcissism & Paranoia. Fun and useful, all the buffs stack and as of the most recent patch they have had their durations each increased to 1 minute.

I actually got this item as my secondary tanking item (due to the 51+ stamina) and it worked out pretty awesome. Even when I was using it just for that it was awesome.

It wasn't until I respecced fury with Sweeping Strikes. It makes the dailies in Q'D so much better, aoe nuke em all and end up getting 10 buffs :D

Even in WotLK, I still use this thing as a feral bear tank. With swipe being unlimited, every time I get a killing blow I get a buff. For lots of instances, there are many places where there are plenty of adds that come, and Swipe usually ends up getting several killing blows...

This applies to Azjul Nerub on the first and third bosses, several of the Naxx bosses, and a number of other places. Very handy for these encounters... nothing like having the 50 STA, plus a 35 AGI, 35 STA, Crit, Strength, Haste, etc, all stacked on a boss encounter.

Situational, but still useful, at least in my case... can't speak to other tanks and whether they get many killing blows with things like Consecrate or Thunderclap.

as of 3.0.8, being an unshifted druid, I never got the "manic" buff (I guess this is because before wotlk haste and spell-haste were two different stats).
also, I never got "dementia".

Tested on 3.2 on a 70 Ret paladin soloing SLabs reg a few times.

It seems the only 4 possible buffs a ret paladin can obtain are: +35 Str, +35 Intel, +41 healing/damage, and +35 stam. No sign of the +haste, +crit or +agi buffs, and certainly not the +AP buff.

Ah well. :(

As of December 3, 2007, (Patch 2.3), the narcissism/martyr complex buffs do not give you bonus health/mana. i.e. if you get the martyr complex buff, you will not get the extra 350 health to "fill" your health bar... which makes two of the buffs almost useless.

2 things...
Does Dimentia stack with itself? For instance, will it go to 5% then up to 10%, or down again to 0%? Or does it overwrite, as either 5% above or 5% below constantly?
Is the Martyr Complex Stamina hp given, or is it like when a PW:F is put on you, where your max hp changes, not your current? Or does it work more like Commanding Shout/Last Stand where the hp is given along with the "Stamina".

If its like a PW:F it would be kinda useless, seeing as how it lasts only 30 seconds and most classes wouldnt regen 350 hp that fast...

Overall, this looks like a really fun trinket, like the old 6-Demon Bag back @ 46 :P

Cant wait to get... would be great solo grinding to keep the game interesting, but almost useless in raids and with limited usefulness in small groups and pvp.

I just picked the trinket up yesterday, 8/6/07, and currently only 4 buffs seem to be active. I use the trinket on my mage. The only buffs I've seen are +35 sta, +35 int, +41 spell dmg, and +35 crit. I have not seen the rabbit hole buff/debuff or the haste buff which are also listed to apply to mages.

The buffs can stack meaning I can have +35 int and +41 spell dmg going at once. If the same buff activates it just renews the timer. The buffs seem to be completely random and activate whenever I kill a mob, or another player, around my level.

On top of that the +51 sta is really nice to have especially in PVP.

The procs last for 30 seconds each.

I've had this with my paladin for 4 days or so now, and I've killed hundreds of mobs with it, and only 4 buffs seem to be available to paladins - Narcissism (+35 int), Martyr Complex (+35 stam), Sociopath (+35 str), and Megalomania (+41 spell damage).

Anyone who knows this card please advise;

I am torn between this and the Blessings deck (Crusade Card). When it says killing blow does it mean your specific hit, or could it also be the hit of a group member? E.g. All mashing the same target but you don't actully lay the killing shot. I guess it does say what it means, but just incase I thought I'd ask.

This trinket, like all other "killing blow" effects are usefull for 3 things:
1) Soloing, as you give that finishing move on all opponents;
2) PVP, as most people land a killing blow often (except the ones going as healers :P );
3) Big Bang classes, that finish their targets with a lot of damage (e.g. Fire Mages, Mortal Strike Warriors, Rogues).
Some here question the usefullness of the buffs, but remember that they are 30s buffs - longer than most trinket buffs - and personally, i've been paid a lot for enchants on equipment for a whole lot worse stats that each individual buff gives. If you kill a second target and you get a second of these buffs on top of the first, it makes this trinket very usefull.
Oh and 51 stamina is 510 life minimum...

i just got it and tried in eots

appearently it gives different buff each time you kill someone. as a rogue, i got:
Martyr Complex, +35 stam
Delusional, +70 ap
Manic, +35 spell/melee/range haste rating
in a few kills. dunno if there is any different thou, gotta try for 2-3 hours at least.

I though you would all be interested to know that this card works both if your pet kills something, and EVEN if you use demonic sacrafice on your pet. I used demonic sacrafice and gained Meglomania just after:

I have had this trinket for some weeks, and it happens every day at least one time, perhaps up to five, that my character says: "This is madness" when I get a killing blow. So if you think that's fun, this is the trinket for you.

Yes, I'm a warrior, and this trinket is a very good choice for 3v3 and especially 5v5 arena. It's not 100% true that warriors always get focused on last. 51 stamina definitely helps, not even mentioning the nice buffs after killing blows. I think that in some matchups, this trinket is even better than Bloodlust Brooch, but given the choice, I'd still use BLB in most games.

Yes it's confirmed, you can wear this trinket along with the vengeance trinket, go for them, they are worth your time, money, and effort.

You want Vengeance- Madness only procs when you kill something, while Vengeance has a chance of proc from getting hit. During boss fights, which can last over 5 minutes at times, Vengeance will serve you much better as a tank.

Got this a few weeks back on my MM hunter and it's been a godsend in PvP and PvE, even in raids (except in pure boss fights). Since my pet's attacks will proc this too, it procs all the time. And as a MM hunter, all the buffs (except the stamina) are beneficial, as they all increase attack power. And the +51 stam has saved my bacon more than once.

Totally, totally worth it for MM hunters.

A lot of people don't like the stam buff, but for a lock with DK it increases spell damage by a little, which is good i guess

The following things are true about this Darkmoon card:

1. This is arguably one of the best trinkets for farming in the game. You will always be landing the killing blows.

2. This is among the best trinkets for battlegrounds and/or the arenas.

The 'battlemaster' trinkets are probably a little better if you are skilled in knowing when to use them, although the difference isn't as great as you might think, and this is +510 health upfront, good for those who have trouble knowing when to use the battlemaster trinkets. If your race is Undead (or Forsaken), you may use this Darkmoon card in combination with the Battlemaster trinket for a very potent 1, 2, trinket punch (because you have the Will of the Forsaken racial ability). If you are Undead, this is really a trinket you should consider targeting. However, if you are not Undead, it would probably not be realistic for you to do so because you are going to NEED to use the Insignia of the Horde/Alliance to 'remove movement impairing effects'. Therefore, you will be choosing between Darkmoon Card Madness and the Battlemaster trinket, which will be paired with the insignia of the alliance/horde.

HOWEVER IF you have an open profession and have room for engineering, the Gnomish Poultrylizer and Goblin Rocket Launcher are similar in impact for the arenas. Engineering also allows you to get arguably the best PvP belt in the game, which absorbs 4000 damage. The cost of leveling engineering will be roughly the same cost as this Darkmoon Card.

3. This will be a highly desirable trinket to have when leveling once the new expansion is released as you will be getting those procs on your killing blows as you level all the way to 80.

4. This card is a highly attractive trinket for a mage because both the Goblin Rocket Launcher (mage's already have ranged attacks that deal big damage) and the Gnomish Poultrylizer (mage's already have polymorph) do not bring anything new to the table except for the stamina.

5. If you raid, this is not the trinket for you unless you do not have any other high level options, or somehow find yourself in a situation where your gear does not have enough +stamina on it and need something to temporarily fill the void. You can however, grab it for the arenas, and then swap it out for something more sexy when raiding...

this and the vengeance card together..102 stamina...good for a tank..yeah the proc is lame for a tank but combine the 2 trinkets..102 stamina+10% chance to inflict dmg..i got it only for the stamina as a tank..vengeance+madness=FTW

For those who think this maybe good for AOEing with you are right and wrong, you can only have 4 of these 30 second buffs on you at a time which will give you a great boost ,but you wont get all the buffs it offers.

I found this in a post bellow it is 100% true and is a good source.

I recently got this card on my feral druid and have noticed something (dunno if it's a bug or intended) The buff "Paranoia" (+35 spell/melee/ranged crit rating) only procs off kills in my human/caster form. I've never had this proc for me in feral form.

Seems odd to me, I thought Paranoia was a classwide buff from this trinket, would only make sense to give it to ferals too since it has melee crit rating. This needs to be fixed.

Just to update with the 2.4.2 patch note this card's buffs have now been increased to 60 sec making this trinket that bit more valuable to classes with finishing moves in a PvP or PvE enviroment. Like someone said in an earlier post this is a great trinket to level up with when WOTLK hits from a solo grinding stand point. If your collecting Lunacy cards like I am right now, best thing to do is to take your time and watch the AH for price flux and buy when you know its at the cheapest you can find it. Or have a large but generous guild who puts up cards for trade in their guild bank. Hope this helps anyone looking up info on this card.

*got the card today, tried it out in PvE and it's pretty damn good though worth mentioning it refreshes buffs more than giving new ones due to the random factor. Stacks up to 4 times with several buffs and the 60 secs is a blessing to achieve this. Will try it out in PvP but I can't see it being as good as it is in PvE farming.*

*tested in all forms of PvP; AV is the best for this trinket WSG and arena are the worst since battles either last longer than 60 sec or are longer between fights after killing blows have been landed. Still worth the wait any every copper spent on this trinket.*

Is it possible for one character to have two different darkmoon cards equipped simultaneously? I ask this because if my tank were able to equip both a madness and a vengeance at the same time, that would give a bonus 102 stamina, which is a godly increase for a tank.

I'm thinking they probably don't let you do that. But I sure as hell ain't spending the money unless I know I can do it.

I saw from previous posts that some buff are increases to stamina and itellect. So does that mean that your max health or mana would go up but your actual health or mana would stay the same?

I just picked this thing up this week for my fire mage and I love it! you clear an aoe pull and you can have a lot of extra buffs. I had 4 at the same time on multiple occasions running Heroic Bot yesterday. +35 stam +35 int +35 spell crit and +41 spell damage all at once is insane. Now fighting a boss with no adds...meh at least you get the 51 stamina from the card.

I recently got this card for my hunter. It's a lot of fun even as a Beast Master but this trinket really becomes a powerhouse when specced correctly. While the +agi and +AP buffs are always helpful the +intellect buff would really shine if specced into careful aim. In addition if your MM, points into combat experience would also benefit making the +agi and +int buff that much more useful. If you are survival specced lightning reflexes is that much better when your agility buff procs. But I gotta say this trinket really shines for Marksmen due to careful aim. 60sec procs that all add to DPS(outside of +Stam) makes this trinket a worthwhile investment.

This is a great trinket for farming or leveling during wotlk-classic coming up soon - you get a buff every time you kill something, no cd between buffs, they all stack, and they can be refreshed to last indefinitely while you are mob grinding.

I highly suggest picking one of these up for gold farming mobs in the open world such as Legion Hold, Throne of Kiljaeden, etc. You will not be disappointed!

Currently bugged in TBC Classic. There are certain effects that classes should be able to get, but are not happening at all. Notably some classes being unable to proc Mania or Dementia - the two funnest procs - even though in original TBC they could (Mage, Warlock, etc).

Don't waste your gold until this is fixed.

Hopefully they can fix this soon, as well as the other longstanding bugs such as the Warlock Seed bug.

As a warrior who only pvp's, this trinket is AMAZING; and if you even considered getting it on your warrior, just get it.

At the start of an AB, I just use this and my battlemasters trinket and pop off at BS.

And pve? pls.
