You can get this by handing in the Blessings deck that can be created by gathering the ace through eight of Blessings cards that drop off random 61-70 monsters.

The Ace drops off Warp Splinter (Botanica), Harbinger Skyriss (Arcatraz), Pathaleon the Calculator (Mechanar), Aeonus (Black Morass), Omor the Unscarred (Hellfire Ramparts) or Warlord Kalithresh (Steamvaults).

Chances are that they only drop in Heroic, but it's not confirmed yet.

80 spell damage is awesome for a trinket if you can keep it up. Better than the heroic trinket which averages as just under 70 damage. However if it wears out a few times in a fight and you have to restack it, while you're restacking it it's worth on average 40 spell damage (8+16+...+80)/10=40 (actually a little less since you start at 0) and the heroic trinket gets a bigger benefit to its "use" feature the lower your % time attacking is.
For fights where you can keep it up it's better, and for fights where you stop attacking for longer than 10s relatively often the heroic trinket is better.
Both trinkets aren't really close to quagmiran's eye even after it was nerfed although quag's eye gives a lot of DPS that also costs more mana, but then again most of the time it doesn't matter.

Wow this trinket is amazing for a feral druid! in cat form our base att speed is 1 sec so we would refresh this constintly! so as long as the fight lasts over 20 sec that means that we get a constent increase of ap by 120! cant argue with that! but from a pvp stand point i would still use my https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=29383! but pve i would say this trinket is better for the longer fights.

I got this trinket and tested it, the proc happens on *any* offensive spell cast that hits, including curses, fear (and the aoe version thereof) and dots. The proc stacks up to 10 then stays there for as long as you refresh it before the duration runs out.

Another interesting point is that you get a stack for every target hit by an aoe effect. Also, strangely enough, wand hits proc the melee effect. (thus I'd assume that hunters gain ap from it as well)

Just tested this. As a Mage, it procs on ever Arcane Missiles wave. It's very handy to get them stacks up quickly no matter what spec you are. Takes a bit longer in the end to go fully out but when a fight is long enough, it'll do its job well on the DPS part.

The proc occurs when your harmful effects land. This includes debuffing your target, curses, vampiric embrace, dispelling, each wand hit, etc. Channeled spells and dots will not cause the effect to proc multiple times.

The proc is a buff on the player called Aura of the Crusader. As such, you can attack one target and gain up to 80 spell damage. You can then target another mob within 10 seconds and still sustain the +80 spell damage buff for an additional 10 seconds. Spell damage does not start over at zero as some people have previously theorized.

Outside of bosses, the behavior of this trinket makes it very good for arenas, farming, and other times in which you encounter multiple enemies in a short period of time.

Just got the deck this morning, it is awesome for warlocks, damn near procs off everything. Banish, All types of lock fears, non damaging curses like CoS and CoE, just about everything you can bascially cast. It will not proc off dot ticks per say just inital application of the dot. Wands proc the melee side of the card, which you can have both melee and spell damage buffs going at the same time.

Not sure though if this trinket is a wise choice if your a fury warrior that does alot of PvE. It would give you (6x20) 120AP pretty much all the time you're killing something, but wouldn't it then be better to get a item with some attackpower and a procc? In my oppinion there's several items that would fit better for warrior, I would rather pick up the one from Gruul then put alot of gold into getting this trinket.

For casters:
-dot's initial cast will proc it
-direct damage spells will proc it
-AoE spells will give 1 charge for each target they hit.
-Non damage spells flagged as 'harmful' will proc it (means any spell that would aggro a mob, like counterspell, but not spells like detect magic)
-"Immune" wont proc it
-Resists wont proc it

the 10second duration is renewed every time a spell lands, making it great for long, non-stop fights.

For melee:

-each normal hit will proc it
-each special attack will proc it
-multitarget attacks will proc it as many times as they hit

makes a nice trinket for a rogue i guess, not as good for dps warriors or other classes that dont value AP as much

Oddly enough, wanding gives the AP buff so i am guessing all ranged attacks do, without having tested it.

Seems this is one of the best darkmoon cards so far. During a bossfight you can gain +120 AP in no matter of time (20 hits while DWing doesnt take long) and keep it up for nearly the whole encounter. If you lose the buff, its easy to get it back.
Simply the best if you ask me (and probably will be very expensive)

This trinket rocks for arcane mages. we get 1 spell hit every 5 seconds with arcane missiles, and with POMing and fireblasts added in, it takes only about 15 seconds to max the buff out. and in an instance with large pulls (like shadow labs) It would add an insane amount of damage (and seeing as how "sheep" is an aggresive spell, it too would probably make this proc)

I have this trinket, and have used it throughout all of SSC and on Al'ar and Void Reaver in The Eye. It's a truly insane trinket, adding damage by the bucket-load for trash-pulls and bosses alike (where "trash" means 25-man raid trash, not the 3-mob pulls in 5-man instances).

The only tricky part is to learn how to keep the buff up throughout the fight. 10 seconds might sound like plenty of time to land a new spell, but in reality it's rarely enough to keep it up constantly for highly mobile fights (Spout-dodging on Lurker, running from Arcane Orb on Void Reaver), or fights where whatever you're targetting becomes untargettable for any extended period of time (Lurker when he dives, Al'ar phase 2). I usually try to watch the buff-timer and apply a Vampiric Touch or similar whenever it's about to run out.

I haven't tried using Mind Vision to keep it up yet, but as Mind Vision doesn't aggro stuff you land it on, I wouldn't expect it to proc it, and I believe it's a bug if it does. It wouldn't really help everywhere though (Al'ar phase 2 fe, as he can't even be targeted while meteoring), unless it works while mind visioning friendly targets as well. I'll have to test that, I think. 65 mana (MV rank 1, 100 yd range) would be a cheap price to keep 80 spelldamage up constantly.

If you're a rogue, this combined with wrath is an amazing combo for those long boss-fights, where you'll be able to significantly buff your damage output and make up for a lack of crit (if you have one). If your crit's fine then a different trinket (instead of wrath) is probably a good idea.

I am a hunter with this trinket and these have been my observations:

1) Range attacks apply both range and melee AP buff at once.
2) Arcane shot, multi shot, steady/aimed all will apply the AP.
3) Kill Command applies the caster spell buff. I am unsure as to what stacking buffs do since the mobs i tested on were weak, but I am sure KC procs spell dmg. I will post an edit if I find that stacking spell dmg increases KC dmg.
4) Pets do nothing as far as trinket: cannot proc it, gain only % contribution from your stats and cannot reapply it.

Does anyone see the potential for this trinket with a paladin? ANY paladin?

Any time you have 2-3 or more enemies you just cast consecration once, and the spell damage will be stacked 10 times in the matter of seconds!

The proc would increase the spell damage for crusader strike, any holy damage seals, and of course, consecration as well.

As of right now, this is my main goal to gain for level 70.
If anyone knows a better trinket (Im kind'of on the lookout), please tell me ^^

Did some testing on how this procs for mages. Perfect for an Arcane mage, decent for a scorch mage, but deep fire might want to look at something more burst focused.

Single-hit spells grant 1 proc
Fireball, Scorch, Arcane Blast, Frostbolt, Ice Lance, Pyroblast

AOE spells sometimes grant multiple procs
Arcane Explosion grants 1 proc per enemy hit.
Flamestrike grants 1 proc per enemy hit, the dot does not grant additional procs.
Cone of Cold grants 1 proc only.
BLIZZARD DOES NOT PROC THIS TRINKET
Could not test with Blastwave, input would be helpful.

Molten Armor and Ice Armor do not give procs when their effects land.

Non-harmful Combat spells do proc this trinket.

For elemental shamans, this trinket sadly does not proc out of extra lightning bolts/chain lightnings granted through Lightning Overload. To answer the question about The Lightning Capacitor, I reckon since it doesn't proc out of an extra cast coming from a talent, it's highly unlikely it will proc from an extra cast of a trinket. I haven't tested this but I'd say the chance is a slim one.
Otherwise it stacks up with all direct damage and "harmful" effects including purge. Starting a fight with Rank 1 Lightning bolt (0.5sec cast) spam is a nice way to build up the trinket while the tank is still gaining agro.

EDIT: In 2.2 this is now changed. You gain one proc for each Lightning Overload bolt, which leads me to complete cluelessness whether The Lightning Capacitor procs will proc this trinket.

Just asking!!!! The card says also for ranged attack it will stack, but if i check the site from WoW Europe or ingame it doesn't say it at all.

Very nice trinket for a BM hunter, especially when using the Steady Shot macro and a Scorpid pet.

About 12.5% of the hunter's RAP contributes to pet's Spell Damage (+15 in this case), which affects the poison ticks of the Scorpid.

This has been changed for us paladins. As of patch 2.2, auto-attack and Judgement now proc both the attack power and spell damage stack. Previously, attack only added an AP stack, and Judgement only added a SP stack. Having Judgement proc the AP one is really just gravy, this is a nice buff to the card since you no longer have to constantly cast Judgement or Consecration whenever they're up to keep up the spell damage stack going.

Seal of Command will also proc both stacks. Nothing else about the trinket appears to have changed.

Edit: A slight correction, this new effect appears to only work when one of your Judgements is on the target. It seems the spell damage portion is now increased by the refreshing of a Judgement. Oddly, Crusade Strike does not proc the spell damage portion, and I'm really unsure why Judgement increases the AP bonus. *shrug* Whatever. :P

Just did some testing with this trinket.
Perhaps its just me being stupid but i have had this trinket for a while and believed that the gained dmg from this trinket applied to the ongoing dots that i had on a mob. This is not the way it works.
If u get up to the 10th proc, u will have to recast the dot to get that amount of dmg. It will not instantly go higher.

I just got my Trinket today and it does proc off each dot. Its very easy to max it out and keep it proc'd as an afflict lock. Also just a side note when i went to turn in my Blessings Deck with all 8 cards the NPC quest turn in did not take my blessing cards so I was able to keep all 8 and i still got my trinket. I thought at first that maybe i had to have the cards in my bag for the trinket to work but I mailed all the cards to another char i have and the trinket works fine so now I can go sell the cards and make some of my money back.

I did have my doubts about this trinket really being put to good use as I heard someone say that u will never get it to fully proc but thats not true, im able to max my proc on this trinket with no prob so its basically another 80 bonus spell damage. I'm glad I made the investment this trinket ROCKS!!!

This + Icon of the Silver Crescent https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=29370 is one of the best combos imo. And the effect is so easy to get up as a mage. I use Ice Lance to get my Winters Chill and this up and then just spam away at my Frostbolt :) Simple as pie.

While this deck is nice it seems to me that if you're looking for additional attack power, and are going to use a trinket slot, you'd almost be better of with anything else with an AP buff.

At a maximum this trinket is going to give you 60 AP. Even the Royal Seal of Eldre'Thalas gives you 48 and you could easily come into BC with that one...

Procs on EVERY single effect you can do. Slow, Polymorph, Counterspell, anything! If you cast an AoE, you will proc for EACH target hit by the spell, as well as each individual pulse from arcane missiles. Highly recommended for mages!

This one is worth every copper I have invested in it. As a destro warlock you can spam CoS quite early in every boss fight without getting aggro too soon. So you can start with your SB nuking fully "crusade buffed", i.e. with +80 damage.
You will also need some good hit rating since every miss costs time on the crusade proc so don't forget to cast a quick CoS now and then between other spells if the time is running out. ;)

yes, to the previous poster who said it didn't proc off of blizzard. That's not true. every target and every tick of damage for each target. So less than half way through your blizzard channel the proc is maxed out. It's a wonderful trinket. Not all that good for quick kills as the ramp up time limits how much use you will get, but for longer fights or classes that attack very quickly, it is well worth it.

Actually, wether this is the best retradin trinket depends wether you are pure hardcore raider or not.
Spelldmg is 99% useless to a retradin(and will be nerfed even more the next patch), and the 120 AP doesn't exactly stack up in 1 second...

I've done som match on this myself, and you wont actually get a stack of 20x6 AP untill 34 seconds into the fight, IF you actually manage to time every melee, CS and judgement perfectly... Which you most probably wont.
Having this top off at 120 AP after a _minimum_ of 34 seconds, this means this trinket is far from the best retradin trinket if you use it for PVP or non-raidbosses.

If you compare this to Abacus of Violent Odds (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=28288), then Darkmoon: Crusade needs _atleast_ 84 seconds before it boosts your damage more than the Abacus would.
Any fight shorter than this would give you greater benefit from Abacus that Crusade, while any fight longer than this would make Crusade the better one.

Now if you look at the JWC BOP trinket Felsteel Boar (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=24124), then Crusade needs _atleast_ 81 seconds before it boosts your damage more than the Felsteel would.
Again, any fight shorter than this would give you greater benefit from Felsteel than Crusade. Additionally, Felsteel Boar is a really great PVP trinket, because of the surprise factor and the fact it’s attack actually slows down the casting time of a caster opponent. Really great trinket!

Then we have the trinket from Black Morass, the Hourglass of the Unraveller (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=28034). There is no clear answer to exactly how much extra damage it does, since it totally depends on the rest fo your damage and your total critchance, but when you get your total AP above 2000 and your crit rate is above 25%, I really do belive this one is better than Crusade.
I can tell that 300 AP would increase _my_ damage by 18,5% in those 10 seconds, and that’s a lot!
It does have an internal CD of 45 seconds, and with that taken into consideration, the trinket will increase my average effective DPS by about 35-40 nomatter how long the fight is (in theory, nothing is certain with proccs).

I did save up every little piece of Blessings cards to get Crusade, but when I did some math on it, and discovered that it’s a pure raidtrinket, I lost my interest and sold every card. It’s just not worth the 1700g I payed for all those pieces.

I got this recently and I was quite suprised to find out that Avenger's Shield and Hammer of Wrath gives attack power instead of spell damage. Also, Holy Shield doesn't activate the trinket either on casting or when blocking attacks.

I'm a Ret Pali and I've recently started PvP'ing a lot. I have yet to raid, but may start doing the occasional jump into Kara (though rare). Does this trinket hold any PvP value, or are we looking at a strict Raider's item?

This is still a nice trinket but do keep in mind that you cannot count on the keeping the full 80 damage/120 AP buff up for the *entirety* of a boss fight as almost every boss has some ability that will interrupt your dps for 10 seconds or more, and you will have to build it back up. It is hard to work that into a simulation so don't be fooled by the theorycrafting. That said, it is still a good trinket, but it will not add an automatic 80 damage to every spell you cast.

I have this on my Retadin and I have to say it is indeed a blessing. I get both buffs stacked so fast it's kinda like having them up from the start lol. I highly recommend this trinket for any melee DPS. I would also like to add that each stack has a chance of procing the Insightful Earthstorm Diamond's mana regen, which is lovely for a Ret pally :) Get it if you can.

Shadow Embrace Rank 1
Your Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life and Seed of Corruption spells also cause the Shadow Embrace effect, which reduces physical damage caused by 1%.

"Each time you land a harmful spell on an opponent, you gain 8 spell damage for the next 10 sec., stacking up to 10 times."

Shadow Embrace may of triggered the trinket's effect prior to 2.3.0, which means casting Corruption + Shadow Embrace would cause 2 stacks of the effect.

However, since most raiding warlocks don't cast these spells (Corruption, Curse of Agony, or Siphon Life) in rapid succession becase they're DoT spells, it has minimal impact on how the trinket works for WARLOCKS.

Hands down, one of the best DPS trinkets for any warlock spec as Shadow Bolt and maybe soon Incinerate will make up most of your overall damage. This trinket should be considered a boost of about 65 DPS on a raid spec'd destruction warlock ( http://www.maxdps.com ).

I just got this wonderful Darkmoon card for my Protection Paladin and my only regret is not having gotten it sooner. With everything that Paladins do while tanking, stacking and refreshing the buff(s) from this trinket could not be any easier.

As mentioned in a previous comment, the first tick of Consecration will proc one application of the spell damage component for every effected mob. This essentially means that as soon as you drop a Consecration in an environment like Hyjal Summit, you're fully stacked.

While Seals on their own do not proc the spell damage component, Judgements do proc it and so does refreshing Judgements. This means that once you apply any Judgement to your target, your auto-attack (with or without Seal) will start stacking and refreshing spell damage in addition to AP.

One pleasant surprise I encountered was that Seal of Vengeance applications do in fact proc spell damage. Righteous Defense, which I wasn't sure about, turned out not to proc it. Finally, as I anticipated, reflective shields (meaning Holy Shield, Blessing of Sanctuary and Retribution Aura) do not proc it, either.

All in all, I highly recommend this card to any Protection Paladin with enough gear to sacrifice an avoidance trinket. The 80 spell damage is huge for us, and the AP does not hurt either, since a small part of our threat is still generated through white damage.

Note that as an enhancement shaman, you'll only be procing the spell effect with your shocks, which have a six second cooldown. That's very important for two reasons:

It will take you ten shocks to build up the spell damage buff to the maximum, which will take you a full minute of shocking every cooldown.

The end result of this is that with Nature's Guidance 3/3 and zero spell hit (14% resist chance), you'll be gaining an average of ~29 spelldamage from the spelldamage side of this trinket during an extended fight.

I've been an arcane mage for quite a long time, and having this trinket has been wonderful. After quite a few re-specs brought on by my boredom with my current spec, I decided to go back to fire (2/48/11). The last time I was fire was before Icy Veins, and I already enjoyed that, so I figured i'd try out Icy Veins.

The point is...if you're stacking Scorch, with the Incinerate talent, this trinket will almost always stack from your 5 Scorches. Assuming the worst possible conditions (no crits on Scorch or your first 2-3 Fireballs), it probably won't take more than 15 seconds to stack this trinket to the full effect.

In light of this, I think this is a good trinket to have as both fire and arcane. On fights where you can expect to have downtime or interruption in casting long enough that might let the buff run out, you'd probably be better off with the Icon of the Silver Crescent or a similar trinket, but definitely don't write this trinket off.

Read the descripton more carefully. It specifies 'melee and ranged damage' and 'harmful spells'. It does not mention physical damage. A wand does magical damage, but is not a harmful spell, it is ranged damage. Therefore it procs Attack Power, not Spell Damage.

Wands do not deal physical damage, they deal the damage of the type of wand, I.e. Shadow, Fire, Nature, etc. So the source is magical, (it is a wand), but the use of the wand is physical, the character literally swings the wand towards the target to release the bolt. So having it proc the AP part of the trinket is not too far-fetched. Not to mention wands have a skill attached to them that has to be learned through use of the wand, unlike spells.

And maybe that is exactly what Blizzard wanted, a hybrid weapon option that was physical but did magical damage.

An intresting thing i found out with this trinket is that when you cast scorch with your mage (while having improved scorch) it gives you 2 stacks of the buff at once meaning with 5 scorch you will have this trinket on its full power.

The total ap/spell damage gain per fight is based on how long that fight lasts and how fast your attack speed is, assuming a static attack speed (wrong - but over 20 attacks or 10 spells probably a fairly reasonable assumption):

Attack Power

Average gain = (60x +120y)/(x+y)

Where x is time taken to hit the mob 20 times so one quick example:

A hit capped bm hunter with an attack speed of 2.0 (roughly average again) using a 1:1 shot rotation:

Average 1 attack every second - 20 seconds to full stack:

= (1200 + 120y)/(20+y)

However this is a more optimum scenario, say we take a class which hits much slower, say and average of once every 3 seconds (probably not possible, but just as an example).

It however only makes sense if we know how long the fight is so best and worse case scenarios:

20 Second trash Mob:

Fast - 1200/20 = Static 60 Ap
Slow - 400/20 = Static 20 Ap

1 Minute Fight:

Fast - (1200 + 4800)/60 = 100 Ap
Slow - (3600)/60 = 60 Ap

2 Minute Fight:

Fast - (1200 + 12000)/120 = 110 Ap
Slow - (3600 + 9000)/120 = 105 Ap

10 minute fight (e.g Nightbane):

Fast - (1200 + 69600)/600 = 118 Ap
Slow - (3600 + 64800)/600 = 114 Ap

The point being that at the length of the fight increases the amount of average ap you gain (assuming you can maintain a full stack increases). Also that even if you are a class with attacks which are unimaginably slow ( 3 seconds), you'll only feel a loss of ap on those fights (trash mobs) which are very short anyway, the returns on the trinket very quickly catch up to those with a much faster (3 times) attack speed.

This is just information for people to quickly work out how much this trinket is worth:
Remembering that most trash pulls are multiple and assuming that a stack can be maintained through mob switching and that most bosses are over 2 minutes long, your going to be seeing at least 100 Attack Power static gain over a fight, whether or not thats the best option for you depends on what other trinkets grant:

For example Bloodlust Brooch when used consistently offers 115 Ap - In very very long fights this trinket might pass it but that is probably doubtful.

Another example was given above of Hourglass of the Unraveller, the example given took 34 seconds for the card to reach a full stack:

Taking an average 2 minute fight:

(2040 + 10320)/120 = 103 Ap

The hourglass has a 50 second internal cooldown (check the page) and a fairly low proc rate, since there is only one post relating to proc rate i'm not going to use those numbers to infer how many times it should be up in a fight (too little informaition) instead taking the 50 second cooldown, in the space of a 2 minute fight it isn't likly to be up more than twice:

300 ap for 20 seconds of the fight, this is fairly generous on the hourglass as the one test puts the proc rate at around 3% (on crits - which does seem a little low), however taking these generous numbers the proc would equal:

300*20/120 = 50 Ap over the course of the fight:

Now whether or not the static 32 crit rating makes up for what is probably roughly a 60 ap difference (remember we're being too fair the the hourglass) is up to you.

A similar formula can be applied to spell damage:

Average gain = (40x +80y)/(x+y)

I'm not going to run through the maths again but in terms of average gains it comes out at around 70 Spell Damage as long as you can keep the proc up.

To clarify the issue of not proccing on Blizzard: yes it doesn't. BUT, it procs from the slowing effect of Improved Blizzard. Which means, it procs a lot unless the mobs you are targeting are immune to slowing effects (like Shahraz trash packs in BT).

As a deep fire mage, this trinket works extremely well in raids and soloing in general. Contrary to what many may believe, this trinket is MUCH easier to stack as a 5 scorch/fireball/renew scorch debuff rotation mage than an arcane mage:

Fire mage: Trinket procs off of every successful scorch AND every scorch debuff. This means that after only 5 scorches you will have 10 stacks. 5 scorches=1.5 seconds*5=7.5 seconds to stack.

Arcane mage: Trinket procs off of ever bolt of arcane missles. 2 complete channels of arcane missles and you will have 10 stacks. 2 arcane missle spells=5 seconds *2=10 seconds to stack. So, believe it or not, this trinket takes another 2.5 seconds than scorch rotation to make it completely useful.

Either way, this trinket is extremely useful. It's basically a 7.5/10 second delayed +80 spell damage trinket. If you have the gold, I'd highly reccomend this as +80 spell damage is a LOT of +damage on any one item.

Edit #2: This has been fixed in the most recent patch. Both buffs will now appear if both spell damage based attacks as well as physical attacks are applied to a target.

I'm not sure if anybody mentioned this before but for classes which use both spell and melee based attacks, the trinket will reset the buff to the most recent attack. This also includes wands for casters. After the buff wears off, it will return to the original buff (starting from 10 seconds again).

Example:
After 10 casts, a warlock gains 80 spell damage.
The warlock now attacks with his wand several times.
The buff resets itself and the warlock now gains AP instead of spell damage.
After the AP buff wears off, the original buff returns and the caster gains 80 spell damage right away.

I'm assuming something similar would happen when paladins use this trinket?

Edit #1: multiple targets affected by shadowfury all count as seperate casts meaning if you hit 10 targets with shadowfury, you will get the full 80 damage right away.

If you spec in Improved Scorch 3/3 as a mage, that gives you ~315 damage per hit (~1575 for 5 non-crits). That would give you your first 5 stacks of trinket, then casting Arcane Missiles (Rank 10) will do about ~260 DPH (~1300 for 5 non-crits )

Without any extra spell power, you get 2875 damage for the whole 10 trinket stacks.
Assuming you have a decent amount of spell power (~750) it will be about 5k+ and about 10k with crits (7k with half and half).

Now let's say you cast a Fireball next. With the spell power bonus it should be 2k - 3k non-crit with 800 SP.

With a PoM/AP/IoSC/Pyro instead of the Fireball, that would be a NASTY crit.

Now lets say that the Pyroblast crits. That would be about 5k-7k (I crit that sometimes). That's about 17k damage in about a 10 sec period. After that, you still have the SP Trinket buffs and Arcane Power. This gives you 15 seconds (AP is 15, IoSC is 20 and Crusade refreshes) to do as much damage as possible. If you get Improved Fireball (-0.5 casting time) you get a 3 second Fireball. In that time you can get out 5 Fireballs and possibly a Fireblast. Lets say you do ~2000 damage each time + Ignite (If spec'd for it), you get about 27k+ damage done in 25 second period

-does not proc off serpent sting ticks
-volley doesnt proc it

I have had this trinket for the last 6 months or so on my Fire Mage and it has been awesome.

An added bonus now, is that with the Improved Scorch Glyph, which adds the scorch debuff 3x for every application, it procs this trinket for every one of the multiples.

A nice bonus for anyone leveling a mage to 80 with this. If you have mana shield up and are arcane specced, you get double buffing to your +spell damage.

While Alt tabbed to write this, my spell damage went up +105 from Incanter's absorption, and +80 from this trinket.

Also this provides some motivation to level faster, as you will find yourself pulling that next mob ASAP to keep the 10 sec buff stacked at 10.

Gives 8 SP with each spell, stacking up to 80

Sounds like pretty much a 120 AP for melee dps class like rogues or fury warriors while in combat, unless you manage to miss continuously for 10 seconds straight o_O

In my opinion, I'd take bloodlust brooch over this. It gives a permanent 70 ap, but you have that wicked use on it to add 270 ap each... two minutes was the cooldown?

From what I have read in this thread, the impression that I get is that this would be a handsome addition to an affliction lock's gear set. In my fuzzy little head, it seems that it would stack at least at the beginning of a dot spell, and with 3 instants, UA, and immolate you'd have it maxxed out within the first 10 seconds of any fight. Given that I have no specific goals with my lock at the moment(I'm essentially a pvp nut), I'm thinking of hunting down the rest of those cards. Does any UA lock have this? Is it worth the effort, or a waste of time?

If you press on the spell "Apply Aura: Aura of the Crusade" in this items description, it happens to be a proc that activates "Aura of the Crusader" (Paladin aura for 20% mount speed increase). Does anyone know if this is correct? Does it proc with crusader aura or have it constantly, or is it just a Blizzard myth?

I got this on my paladin because i wanted to see first hand how it worked with seals and consecration etc. it adds a stack everytime you land a hit and refresh a judged seal and cast hammer of judgement on a character. it also works on consecration but only counts the first tick per monster/player affected. so good definetly for aoe farming and tankadins

I'm debating with myself if I even want this. As a rogue, I'm currently equipped with the Bloodlust Brooch and the Hourglass of the Unraveller. I wouldn't replace the Bloodlust Brooch, and I'm not certain I even want to replace the hourglass. The card pretty well maintains a constant +120 AP all the time during a boss fight. The hourglass gives +32 crit rating, which is lots, and gives +300AP on chance with a crit strike.

Seems to me that the overall dps on a raid boss fight may lean towards the hourglass, since the hidden cooldown is apparently only 45 seconds. I've seen the hourglass proc constantly, and my base crit is just over 30%.

So basically, the question is

+120 AP all the time

or

+2.28% chance to crit and +300AP for 10 seconds every 45 seconds.

What a dilemma. Definitely good for mages though since someone mentioned it stacks with each arcane missile hit.

If i'm reading this right (and i'd like to think i am...) it says: "Each time you deal melee damage (...) you gain 6 attack power (...) stacking up to 20 times." AND it says "Each time you land a harmful spell (...) you gain 8 spell damage (...) stacking up to 10 times.". This means that mixed classes like paladins and shamans can accumulate BOTH buffs during combat for a total of +80 spell damage and +120 attack power - yes, other classes can do both types of damage but only these use them effectively toguether. I'm not saying that there isn't a better trinket or trinketS around, but for a prolonged battle - a boss or a battleground - where you can keep the proc active, you'll get a permanent +80 SD and +120 AP and that's preety good imo...

First, the buff is refereshed each time you deal damage, even if you have the maximum number of stacks. IE, if I have +80 dmg and I hit again, it stays at +80 dmg but it refereshes the 10 sec.

Second,

Comparing this to the nexus horn on a mage with +800 dmg casting fireball (.9 dmg coeffichent) and a 25% crit chance

719+(.9*800)=1439 1.25 % more crit and 20% proc for 225 dmg
719+(.9*880)=1511 26.25*.2 = 5.3%
1500/1439 = ~1.05 Dmg bonus = 14.07%
20 fireballs/min ~1.06 procs = 10.6 sec
5% more dmg 10.6/60 * 14.07%=
2.4% dmg from proc
~2.5% dmg from crit
=4.9% more dmg

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A VERY ROGUGH APPROXIMATION THAT DOES NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT ALOT OF THINGS INCLUDING THE BUILD UP TIME OF THE DARKMOON CARD (GOOD FOR THE HORN), ADDITIONAL DMG TO YOUR CRITS (GOOD FOR THE CARD), TALENTS, ECT. IMO THE CARD IS BETTER FOR RAIDERS AND THE HORN BETTER FOR PVP.

Seems to me like this would be an excellent trinket for mages and warlocks looking to add extra damage in drawn out boss fights and raids.

Admittedly, there are trinkets out there that give a permanent spell damage increase (of like 20 to 56 at most), with the option of gaining around 120 extra damage for 20 secs (2 min cooldown). Such trinkets might be more useful for soloing,

but in major boss fights where I'm going to be casting Arcane Blast or other spells 30+ times, I think having a sustained +80 damage throughout the fight would be invaluable from a trinket. That's a sustained 80 damage after the first ten hits that doesn't disappear after 20 secs, or require a cooldown.

Plus the other bonus, This thing doesn't require any attention to use. Other trinkets require clicking and triggering a 1.5 sec global cooldown to activate, which means dividing your attention briefly to gain a 20 sec bonus. This trinket, you just equip and forget about it.

I admit, not everyone is going to need for every situation, but definitely those fights and raids which have long prolonged fights I feel it will be very useful indeed for casters.

This card is effective for all classes that do dmg, no matter what your spec or build. However, in saying that, there are certain examples where this card becomes better than any other trinket in the game, and as such, for some builds there are better trinkets depending on circumstance.

As much as all the other classes have benefits from this trinket, there is no other class that benefits as much as a ret pally.

Heres why:

When you gain the AP, you normal weapon dmg increases. With spell dmg, all your seals dmg increase. Because Seal of Command bases its dmg off your weapon dmg, the improved AP & SP stack their effect for an additional 120AP, 80 SP. thus, increasing your dmg for every auto-attack and seal of command in a double effect.

No other class can benefit from the double stacking of this trinket except for an enhancement shaman whom does not have the integration of both spell and attack power into auto attack melee strikes.

However, there are flaws, this will hardly proc enough in a non-boss scenario to be more viable than some other trinkets.

I dont know if anyone posted this yet, but I didn't see it and found it important enough to throw on here. I'm a 41/17/3 mage and recently obtained this card. After playing with it a little bit I noticed that spells such as Scorch that add a debuff to increase the fire damage taken will apply the +spell damage buff twice. Also, on a fire crit which causes additional damage over time, this will cause another +spell buff also, meaning with two good scorch spells, I have had frequently 5 buffs from this card in 3 seconds, meaning for a short burst fight or to get the buff up quickly I should be able to have all 10 stacking buffs in anywhere between 6 - 10 seconds, depending on crits. Thought this might be helpful.

for mages who get this very valuable trinket.

Arcane: each missles from arcane missles is 1 proc. so a full channel of missles is 5 procs. 2 full casts and its maxed out.
having the missles comparable to instant cast speed makes firing missles a proc saver when needed(if proc timer ever gets low)

Frost: spam ice lance til its maxed. this plays two rolls. your getting it maxed out in 15 second(the GCD) and also procing it without making much threat so the tank can generate alot of threat to begin with.

Fire: each scorch is 2 procs(don't know why but it is)and you spam scorch to begin with to get the debuff up so after the 5 proc of fire vulnerability DMC has maxed out for 80 spell dmg.

keeping in mind that the buff will expire after 10 seconds if no spell is cast be sure to use instant casts if you have to run or the boss runs far away. if you see the buff saying 5 seconds or less you should
arcane: quickly hit missles or use ice lance.
frost: lance
fire: lance, fire blast, or scorch.

DMC: crusade is useful for classes other than mages too.

edit: stupidly enough a wand will proc for melee dmg.
also when doing AoE. Arcane explosion will proc on every target you hit(possible instant 10 procs if running stocks or VC) blizzard will not proc. flame strike does not proc either. frost nova, blast wave, CoC will also AoE proc(1 proc for every target) i do not know about Dragon's Breathe as i did not spec into that.

if you desire to look at the trinkets don't get your hopes up. i have 8 trinkets right now. 2 pvp, a riding crop. and the rest pve that get swapped out and around depending on the situation

yes mages arecane explosion lets say for example u AE 5 mobs at once.. thats 5 ticks asap( 10 ticks needed for 8 spelldmg) so basically if u AE 5mobs then 80 spelldmg will be up like asap:)

Im a balance Druid(GO MOONKIN) would this by chance proc also on the Starfire stun, since it procs for scorch's debuff? Or would it also proc on Nature's Grace or treants?

That would be sweet!

To make sure, this card does NOT proc using an AoE right?

and gear wise this would work better for long bosses than trash mobs since mobs dont last long enough to get the benifit of this card, might as well use a trinket thats you have to click.

I play a shadow priest and currently I do heroics and kara. Would it be worth saving up for this trinket? I dont know if its worth it for a shadow priest. (Does it proc off Mind Flay?)

Over 25 seconds:

It is more DPS to throw 10 shadowbolts than to Drain Life twice (to get the +80 spell damage proc) and throw 6 shadowbolts.

May or may not seem like common sense but I did the math while bored at work. (Accounting for the 10 different average increasing shadowbolt damages with +1200 spell damage and 25% shadowbolt crit while building 10 charges.)

Also, I'm wondering why do people use Icon of the Silver Crescent? My math came out to 43+25.833=68.333 +Spell DPS. Maybe it's affordability? Maybe it's for the shorter DPS Burst Damage? As far as long-fight DPS 80 > 68.333.

yes as for the shadowpriests..it's almost like what the other guy said earlier..on the first cast (normaly VT) it counts 3x(VT,Shadow vulnerability,and misery) but from then on it's 2x per cast since the misery is already there and the shadow vulnerability is just bumped up from 2x to 4x..etc..
so it would take 4 casts from what i can tell..mabye since each cast renews the misery effect mabye it does do 3x per cast..either way..it's 4 casts to reach the full potential of the trinket (80 spelldmg - 10 stacks).. have fun against Muru:)
