The stats are incorrect above, I am not sure if they are from 2.1.0 or what... but here are the actual in-game stats:

170-316 Shadow Damage
(162.0 damage per second)
+12 Stamina
+13 Intellect
Increases spell damage by 16.

The best wand for a dps fire mage. Give everything he needs. Since the 2.3.2 patch mages can keep their mp high at long battles they dont really need a lot of stats. Gives you a ~1.3% increase in damage (Hit rating + crit) plus a high ammount of raw spell damage.

There really isn't much else to say about it, this is an incredible wand. Nab it up if at all possible, even T6 content wands arn't up to snuff compared to the beast.

Heh. It appears that this was changed significantly at some point in late 2007. I've got the Warcraft Year of Loot desk calendar on my desk and the stats listed for this item are:

Wand - Speed 1.50
170 - 316 Shadow Damage (162.0)
+12 Stamina
+13 Intellect
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 16.

I looked it up to see if it would be something my mage could get her grubby blood elf hands on and noticed the change. (The answer would be no.)

It is fair.
Yes, they ARE getting it from TBC.
TBC will upgrade EVERYBODIES gear tremendously, and if YOU don't have it that's your problem. Blizzard intended anyone who is level 60 to buy the burning crusade.
As well, it's high DPS.... it drops in a very very high up raid instance ( I believe the Eye) and any mages that work hard enough to get that far raiding, (Well more like guilds.) deserve a chance at a wand like that, and other guild members deserve great gear too.

agility helps with armor amount not wand hit rating not classified in the same group as bows/x bows

I have to admit, this wand has great stats but unfortunately it's a bit tricky to get your hands on. So, quite a few people are lucky enough to get this in the raid. Can anyone post a picture of the wand? I really want to see what it looks like.

Got mine 2 weeks ago, server first and still only, It's an aweeeeeeeeessome wand. well worth having no stats.

I got this today while we were clearing tk up to Kael. Finally get to replace my Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy. Spell hit, crit and damage....a fire mages dream come true:). Solarian is probably the easiest 25 man boss next to lootreaver so there is hope for all to get it.
