Definitely a good item for horde to top off cooking... much eaiser to get then the furious crawdads, and the Blackened Basilisk is the best food in the game for damage casters.

Best place for these is from the Grishnath Basilisk in Grishnath in the northern part of Blade's Edge Mountains. They all spawn in the two pools in the middle of Grishnath and are all pretty close together, but easy to pull 1 at a time. The drop rate is around 75% in my experience. Slow to medium respawn rate, though.

Best farming spot for me is in Terokkar Forest, across the rivers north of Bonechewer Ruins for Dampscale Basilisk. They are 64lvl, all close to each other, fast respawn and easy to kill!

I'm dead set certain the best place to farm is the top of the Dead Mire in Zangamarsh. The basilisk up there are level 60-61 and drop em at the same rate as every other farming spot.

I found the drop rate on this to be very nearly 100% from the Ironspine Gazers in the northwestern edge of Zangarmarsh. Just be careful not to fall off of the edge, and you're all set.

These drop off of most crocodiles in Outlands areas. I found the most effective way to farm these by moving down the rivers in the middle of the forests in Terrokar Forest.

which requires 315 cooking skill to make. The food gives you a +23 spell damage buff for half an hour (expires on death).

I'd say walking the circuit around Silmyr Lake (42,14 cords) is by far the best, alot of basilisks and when you've cleared one side of the lake, the other have respawned. And the drop rate is pretty decent too, you'll get one chunk per third basilisk as minimum.

Northeast Zangarmarsh was the best place for me to do this. In just under 30 minutes I had about 45 Chunks. Easy to kill mobs and a fast respawn timer.

You can easily farm this in Zangarmarsh in the Dire Mire and west of the Ango'Rosh Grounds and along the edge of Zangarmarsh west of the Marshlight Lake.

All casters should at least find a friend who can cook these, even Mages. It's very easy to gather (high drop rate from the many mob types it drops off of, and the mobs are plentiful), and there's no better food for DPS casters than https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=27657. Sure, you can get other foods that give the same buff, but the ingredients are harder to get (especially the ones that involve Fishing).

2 Pools - Decent Spawn rate

While your waiting for 1 pool to respawn you can also farm the Grishna's for Light Feather's (if your a mage) and also Netherweave Cloth (if your a tailor).

Either way you put it, its a win win situation for a caster type :P

I put a stack of these in the AH today with just a 2g bid and the bidding is already over 14g with a 'Long' time left! Defintely save these instead of selling them to a vendor lol.

I would also like to confirm that the basalisks above the Dead Mire drop the chunks at a very good rate. I had a stack in about a half hour of farming.

East and North of Dead Mire is the best place by far, 10 mins killed from one end to the other and had a stack of basilisk.

As a Leatherworker/Skinner and a Cook, I found the best spot is the western-most part of Zangarmarsh where the basilisks also drop Fel Scales when skinned at a high rate. It's essential to easy skill leveling for Leatherworking. Two birds, one shot!
